My parents took me to this show. My first ever visit to a strip and one of dozens of trips to 30 over the years. I remember my parents cringing at the $5.00 spectator side admission when we arrived. Then they splurged and had a U.S. 30 shirt waiting for me when we returned to our car after the show. Still one of the best days of my life.

I was there. I was only 9 years old but it changed my life right there that day. I've been hooked ever since.

Man If I had a time Machine I would go back to the early 60's and just live my life from there with all the cool cars the good music and the golden age of Drag Racing the 60's was the best

Just saw this old footage in today's Street Muscle Magazine email. Even though I've been a subscriber to King Rose Archives UA-cam channel for some I had missed this great video. My ohh my,, even though we're elders now and our time on Mother Earth is limited, weren't we of this generation so very, very lucky to have experienced those days first hand. There'll never be a time like those days again. Daymn I miss those wonderful times of the 50's, 60's and 70's. Thanks so very much UA-cam and King Rose for sharing this walk back through a wonderful and exciting time.

Yes, we got to see some awesome cars that were brand new at the time. I was born in '62, I got to see slingshot dragsters, the early funny cars. I live about an hour away from Don Garlits Museum in Ocala FL. He has an amazing collection of early drag racing cars on display. I highly recommend it.

I remember seeing this show way back when, yes, it brought back many great memories. I'd just bought a new Z/28 Camaro but I wouldn't embarrass myself that day when all the Big Guys were there. Wish I still had my 'Z', lol. Thanks for sharing this.

I took pictures of The Little Red Wagon in front of the Holiday Inn in London Ontario back in the late '60s. Those were crazy great times watching the best of the best doing their best. They were all proud to be loud :~)

And it was great entertainment. They were having a blast and so did the spectators. Perfect.

I see you had mentioned London,Ontario which is my neck of the woods as i was born & raised in the small beautiful town of St.Marys,Ontario,Canada which is only 40-45mins from London,Ontario & i remember going to St.Thomas Dragway•Cayuga Dragway & Grand Bend Dragway as a kid & into my late teens with my Mom&Dad. My Dad is a huge Mopar fan & owner of several classic Mopar muscle cars such as his old 1968 Plymouth GTX with a 440 super commando & he owned 2 1971 Plymouth Roadrunners with one having a 383 magnum & the other a 318. My Dad now owns an extremely rare 1975 Dodge Dart hang ten with a 318 🤙

I heard an interview with Bob Riggle who drove Hemi Under Glass. He was the one riding in the bed of Back Up Pick-Up. He said that when it hit the ground, it about threw him out. That's why he got out and kissed the ground!

Wow... the first background song is Ebb Tide (Orchestral Arrangement). Were these songs the original songs for this video? They do sound of the time? I love the whole video. It give us or at least some of us, a glimpse of what it was like to go to a Drag Racing Event in 1967. I was only 3 yrs old at time! Thank you for posting, as I love "All things Racing!

In '69, I saw a wheelie pickup like the Lil Red Wagon, but it was backwards. The driver sat backwards in the cab with the engine in the bed up front. It was called The Back Up. I was 7yrs old, and it made a huge impression

I always wondered how Ehrmantraut was able to run a Hemi Under Glass wheelstander. He worked on the original one. Never knew that.

The Fugitive was a Corvette later on wasn't it? Like the Paddy Wagon ended up being a Vega panel wagon.

The "Fugitive" was, I saw it in action at the Alamo dragway in San Antonio back in 75 right after I had gotten out of Air Force boot camp. I have an 8x10 glossy of it.
