Gaming is like hard to do when you're super tired and unfortunately when you have a job that can be a lot of the times, so yeah I end up watching game stuff more often than I have the energy to play
Hey JP when Cohh is out for January could we have some cool guests on? Maybe get a Vtuber to chat about stuff, hell maybe even talk to PirateSoftware as well? If you'd rather take it easy that month its all good just wanted to suggest some stuff since you and Zeke hit it off really well with Thor last time.
Marvel Heroes (later renamed Marvel Heroes Omega) on Steam was a fantastic Marvel game for fans. It's still my most played game ever with 5250 hours. The roster was huge with each character having different skins, the villains were cool and the environments were numerous. It died too soon due to mismanagement in 2017. Still have a big place in my gamer heart.
Mismanagement a bit. But it was mostly an absurd amount of Marvel meddling that did the game in. I miss that game a lot but the fan resurrection of it is coming along nicely.
I never thought an ARPG would feel good on controller and never gave it a chance in the recent years. It's truly a game changer. I assume some skills are going to function poorly and there's some bad interactions where my character targets something I didn't intend to, but I feel like I can execute my combos on my monk better with controller than I could on mouse & keyboard now. It also feels more natural during boss fights since dodge rolling is required and it essentially feels like a top down Dark Souls boss fight. Premium game. Good job GGG.
There is an option in the skillbinds menu which lets you change from default targeting to focused where the target will be locked to the one you want unless you change it manually using right stick…it was a game changer when playing mercenary
Personally, loot in POE 2 is too scarce, I'm still rocking a few pieces of gear that is like 5-10 levels below me since I don't get enough crafting currency or just gear in general as drops that are an upgrade. Also melee needs a bit of help in some areas like for slams, too slow on bosses or mobs that attack/move too quick for it.
Overwatch *could* have built stronger connections to the characters if they'd committed to sharing their stories, maybe some kind of story focused single player mode would have helped? While the Marvel characters have stories written about them, movies about them. Even the minor cast show up as supporting cast in other more popular people's stories and so build affinity by proxy. I know who Luna Snow is because I read Agents of Atlas. And I read Agents of Atlas because I read Silk. And I read Silk because I read Spiderman.
I think it would be pretty sick to see if QT would come on this podcast. She's very busy but I'd love to have her discuss streaming and the streamer awards in general.
The streamer awards does actually include a panel like the game awards, I think they account more for the fan vote but it's not exclusively determined by it.
34:00 I didn't know about the OTK Expo at all, but every one of those hosts were on that new G4 at least once, so now I'm going back to watch that. They all had great chemistry back then and I love every time they get back together
The Indiana Jones game looks great and MachineGames seems like the perfect match for that IP. In 2025, I'll finally get around to upgrading my PC from the GTX 1070 I'm still using, and that game might just be one of the first I'll play with that new rig.
the tweet about kingdom come was completly fine. even if its on sale, its an old ass game the tweet from the overwatch guy about marvel. that was stupid af. imagine thinking black widow is named after widowmaker
I'd like to think that the KCD tweet was posted with pure intentions, but I can definitely see the way some people could interpret it as being mean-spirited. A direct comparison, worded in a way to pit them against each other, and the rest is in the reader's imagination. I can practically hear the schoolyard "naa na na naa naa" While holding an 'L' with your fingers up on your forehead. I don't want to accuse the writer of being intentionally oblivious to this, but I don't find Zeke's admonition entirely misplaced. Even if I really wouldn't use such accusatory phrasing. But also, It is quite impressive that KCD has that many people playing this late into it's life, but there are a couple of reasons why. It's on sale, and they've advertised the sequel coming up next year, so it's a fantastic time to replay the game for a refresher. Or play it for the first time, or even just finish it if you never completed the main story.
@@Dopesaur The KCD was not posted with pure intentions. Daniel Vávra is very self-centered person. He believes he does everything better than the others. It started at the video games (I still remember his critique of Skyrim), but then he expanded his horizons. He's now expert on politics, sociology, history etc. Fighter against wokeness. Everyone who disagree with him is an idiot. Complete douche.
on the topic of merged streams i do see a difference between a format of dropped frames, where all viewers of Cohh/Zek/JP watch the same stream regardless of the chanel you watch vs a teamup like in a shooter where you watch one play with shared chat/audio/conversation. while i would say DF earns a COMBINED Viewcount (like 5+2+2=9k) id AVERAGE it for the audiomerged ones (like 5+2+2=9/3=3k) maybe corrected for the above average so they have an incentive to join up.
Im sure publishers will be able to make money directly of gamestreaming its not like its technically difficult and expensive and creators are incentvized to stick where their audience is.
Isn't the tweet just about how certain people gave so much shit over Kingdom Come Deliverance for supposedly being racist etc and trying to cancel it/devs, now they're just giving a little bit of shit talk back to those people.
What I don't get about the Twitch directory is that "bigger number better" mentality. For me, it's reverse. I very rarely watch anything over 1k or even a few hundred.
I'd say the same, but I think analytics wise, they're thinking something like: If you're in the directory, and start scrolling from the top, the streams at the top have an early advantage to grab your attention. Also, I can imagine some people do just hop into larger streams. I'm with you on watching smaller streams. If the viewership becomes too big, chat is nigh unusable for even a single back and forth. It becomes a shouting contest to get the streamer's attention. P.S small non sequitur, I was a big fan of Jerma985, but his audience becoming larger made a large and vocal portion of his community become insufferable. I still think it's largely just the effect of having a really large stream. And frankly, Jerma encouraged that behaviour too much, in my opinion.
Gassys audio is out of sync and it drives me nuts all the way through. PS - if you didn't notice and read this and now cant unsee it, I am deeply sorry.
I love when a "big guy" doesn’t afraid to talk shit first but when they face a backlash from the community they retreat back to "it’s just a joke guys, chilllllll". Come on man, if you want to be a man, then act like a man.

Hot take: PoE2 is actually easier than PoE, and probably too easy currently. As JP mentioned, there aren't as many guides out to carry people through it, and we don't have the experience in the game unlike PoE where people have thousands of hours. Add to that new players who are used to face rolling their way through games on easy difficulty. Minion builds are rolling through the content. I'm playing a sorc, which is perfectly fine without an optimized build at all. Been watching Lirik 1/2 shot act bosses as a monk when he hasn't even played that much PoE. I do love the combat and hope they don't cave to vocal players whining, as dodge roll + making it challenging can really open up what they can do.

Such an underrated game, Total Biscuit brought it to light a bit too late I think, I managed to play like 200 hours, was fun AF.
It died for Marvel's Avengers. I'm one of the few who liked Marvel's Avengers, but it was nowhere near as good as Marvel Heroes.

It's because they made it a twin stick shooter
Diablo 3 had good controller support. I played on PS4 and it played well.
