@@overcooked2808 Meh, usual nintendo leakers who say shit that might not be 100% accurate. But they did have the first Prime remaster ready and chose a random time to release it. It wouldn't be farfetched they could easily port them to the switch but be greedy nerds and wait until something about 4 is more solid. Don't question Nintendos ability to be able to easily do something but hold out on their customers xD.
@@Eatsoup3- Prime 4 I can see why it’s taken so long, they literally restarted the game from scratch, there was an early build of Prime 4 that was internally developed by Nintendo themselves and they hated it so much they dumped the whole project, went to Retro Studios and started from nothing.

Amen to that...I've also been watching Huggbees recently (yes, that's a Freakazoid reference...Huggbees... it's fun to say...say it. Say, "Huggbees")...he's a bit awkward in his delivery, but damn can he write a comedy script...(mostly movie and game reviews/discussions and others like commentary on stuff like famous last words and weird deaths)...but I can't help but love, "Matt McMuscles" the most...esp. given his penchant for fighting games/Beat-em-ups...like Mike Haggar(d) or Muscle Power from SNK...

Starfox Assault was the right step to progress the series... but sadly the controls are cluncky and on foot missions were just the multiplayer maps re-used. But it had the right idea.
The story of how Metroid prime was made is absolutely insane. I’m not sure that any games development will ever top it.
In Nintendo's defense, they were right about DVDs, they were just off by a decade.
I just love how Nintendo felt hesitant about releasing disaster, while their digital shop has always been filled with dumpsterfire.
I mean, you are talking about something that's 16 years apart, and has very different leadership at the helm. And it's not up to Nintendo to rate the quality of 3rd party efforts.

I know what I'm listening to at work tonight.
Very interesting topic. Back in the early 2000s I meet a guy at some hiphop event in Germany who was working for Nintendo of Europe in Frankfurt. He was responsible for the German translations for games like Metroid Prime etc. And he told me a thing or two about the Nintendo - Rare relationship and the development of StarFox Adventures. Still liked the game, just the Arwing sections were quite a let down.
Hope they soon bring back the (space shooter) series...

3:19:45 Oh god, the R-Zone...mine was so ghetto that like the AVGN's, I lost that little plastic flip down reflector/magnifier, so it was a lot of fun basically playing a harsh red Tiger game...on a screen that was about 2x2 inches...and all the controller buttons were on see-saw switches (A connected to B, X connected to Y)...WTF? so the corner of the face buttons would dig into your finger if you tried to do a slide press...if it weren't for the Scannerz line's stupid loading times, I'd say R-zone is the worst...
At least there was something a bit closer to actual "pixels" playing "Megaman" on my TI-87/89+ (that I could play in science and math class, lol)...and the only reason I remember that is because one of the only 4 robot masters was...Cash Man...who was literally a dollar sign...apparently a fan game brought him back in 2018...but I'm talking about a game I played in high school in 2000-03...I met a dude super into early emu...I think he was Korean, named James. Sat beside me in "Typing" class (Win98), and he somehow basically put a GB Megaman game on my graphing calculator (which, if you ever tried to find slopes or curves, a "Premium" graphing calculator has only a slightly lower res. and actually more ram and available storage overall than a GameBoy) but that's just echoing it's creator's mantra (Gunpei Yokoi)..."Think about re-purposing what you have before creating something entirely new." So, he used an under-powered calculator processor, tweaked the display to be smoother, though green...and added on the modular capability of insert-able disks...
...does anyone else remember the calculator Megaman game?

Conkers bad fur day was a Mature game and I don't blame Toy stores not stocking it. I would've looked at someone sideways too trying to drop off mature content to a kids toy store. Now Nintendo Power that is messed up. How can a company make you an exclusive and you don't even bother to put it in your major magazine. Nintendo did a disservice to them for that. Rare showed brand loyalty to them and Nintendo slapped them in the face with that. Shows why they lost so much good will with 3rd party developers.

I mean, I don't think there will be? The Switch is still enormously successful the world over, like, it's sold more than the PS5 and Xbox Series combined. Why hamstring that success by releasing a successor when it's still hot?

Hey just wondering if you ever looked into an old Ubisoft game called "I Am Alive" might fit well with the current Fallout excitement and popularity as an overlooked game set in post apocalyptic world. The game really felt like it suddenly had it's release date pushed up and they cut massive amounts to push it out. i was one og the suckers who bought body harvest at the store. Also silicon valley. Game sucked as a kid and still now lol. My go to games were mk trilogy, turok 2, Conkers, Mario 64, KI Gold, Bomberman and DK64 during n64 era. My friends had Smash and Pokemon amd mario party so I only played when at their house. Good times

I think Simmons (from Yovideogames) said it right when he mentioned about how Nintendo sometimes struggles in their gaming department. Now what he means is that when Nintendo is having difficulty they put a lot more effort into their games but when there’s very successful they’re kind of like slow on the draw. When you look at the Wii U as an example about their development history there were several good games on that system that did work for them but they never put a lot of effort when the NexGen console is around the corner

Nintendo going to GameCube is so silly to make proprietary disk. Couldn't even store them in cd cases like you could with your Playstation games. Just made it a pain in the a** to store games. I find it interesting they didn't just have Sakimoto on the team with the Metroid games. Instead they for some reason thought it was a good idea to have multiple ongoing Metroid games being developed.

Part of Wii U downfall I feel also had to do with how fed up people where with gimmicks at that point. After the Wii's success everyone was scrambling for a piece of the pie just like when Battle Royales first took off. However after some questionable games where release from well known series that where bogged down by gimmicks like skyward sword, and just "experiences" being sold on PlayStation move and Xbox Kinect. People didn't have any good faith in the direction of gimmicks unless it was a hand held. Thats why DS was ok but when it came to a console people wanted something that would get a game that would only rely on good gameplay using a basic controller.
Ah, good ole Babyroid: Other Baby! Wherein beloved Samus fell into the same trap that game developers put Lara Croft and Aya Brea into: our heroines need to be "vulnerable", whimpering children! I'm sure everyone of every sex and gender won't absolutely hate that! Should me maybe have a woman write the characters? Hell no!

Prequels to anything present an inescapable problem; it is never going to match up to the speculation fans have formed in their heads. It shears away the mystery and intrigue. It doesn't just not satisfy everyone; it doesn't satisfy anyone.
Take Darth Vader, for example. We knew he was a badass, evil space wizard. When you have him whine a lot as a teenager and then murder a bunch of toddlers, well, yeah that's super evil. But it isn't badass! And now everyone hates you for it.
A prequel will never match up to the expectations of anyone but the person writing it.
It's really wild how clueless this company is sometimes and yet how unfathomably lucky they've been when other companies (cough sega cough) made a couple small mistakes and got absolutely yeeted out of the console industry.
Because during the WiiU and GameCube days they made a shitton of money with handhelds, mobile, merch etc to support them. Now they have theme parks and movies on top of it. In the future Nintendo will be a giant media brand where the video games are just a small part of it. Like Pokemon already is.
Sega absolutely made more than “a couple small mistakes”.
