It really is bonkers. I had a lot of friends who initially bought the Switch in part because Metroid Prime 4 was coming soon. Well... that was over 7 years ago and we're just not getting an update that it'll come out in 2025.

Prime was setup for failure from the start since their CEO rather live like Playboy instead of running a company. Not to mention Retro didn’t have the experience talent or resources like 3D Realms did. Especially when Retro’s staff consisted of people that never developed a video game before while 3D staff already released a bunch of hits by the time DNF was in the works. Prime it more of accomplishment than DNF will be, solely for the fact that its Creator self sabotage his own project based on his inflated ass ego after Duke 3D. Yeah you could it’s a similar story to John Romero and his time with ION Storm but Daikatana didn’t take as long. Lol Just my take of things anyways lol… it definitely was dog shit when it should have been an easy ass win.

Starfox Assault was the right step to progress the series... but sadly the controls are cluncky and on foot missions were just the multiplayer maps re-used. But it had the right idea.
I really was upset that SFA didn’t go anywhere. I would have rather had Fox and Co stay on the ground, explore planets, use space travel LOOSELY, as true bounty hunters would! Maybe it’s cause I was just getting into Metroid Prime and I loved the diversity.

Very interesting topic. Back in the early 2000s I meet a guy at some hiphop event in Germany who was working for Nintendo of Europe in Frankfurt. He was responsible for the German translations for games like Metroid Prime etc. And he told me a thing or two about the Nintendo - Rare relationship and the development of StarFox Adventures. Still liked the game, just the Arwing sections were quite a let down. Hope they soon bring back the (space shooter) series...

Kind of messed with my head when I heard one video of yours roll right into the next with hardly any pause; I'm sitting there going back through some of the levels to get the medallions and I'm thinking "huh, don't remember autoplay moving on that quickly", only to look down and see it's a four hour compilation.
I have recently gotten back into baten kaitos and was just thinking earlier today how I've never seen it mentioned on youtube with as much gaming related content I watch. They're in the walls and heard my thoughts. Baten kaitos mentioned.

I think Simmons (from Yovideogames) said it right when he mentioned about how Nintendo sometimes struggles in their gaming department. Now what he means is that when Nintendo is having difficulty they put a lot more effort into their games but when there’s very successful they’re kind of like slow on the draw. When you look at the Wii U as an example about their development history there were several good games on that system that did work for them but they never put a lot of effort when the NexGen console is around the corner

Conkers bad fur day was a Mature game and I don't blame Toy stores not stocking it. I would've looked at someone sideways too trying to drop off mature content to a kids toy store. Now Nintendo Power that is messed up. How can a company make you an exclusive and you don't even bother to put it in your major magazine. Nintendo did a disservice to them for that. Rare showed brand loyalty to them and Nintendo slapped them in the face with that. Shows why they lost so much good will with 3rd party developers.
honestly I love my Wii-U aka Mario Maker Machine that doubles/triples as a modded Gamecube/Wii. Worth every penny lol I still lose sleep over Star Fox Zero though...
I honestly loved the Gamecube, even if my PS2 got more use. FFX and all the Smackdown games. Also my Dreamcast was awesome. Soul Calibur was so good with so much content and collectibles.
If it weren't for Asrejarte Kingdom Hearts (Oh Mi No Gai Nah) and it's copyright hell, and the current work ethics in gaming in general, gaming would be much better off without the Fabled Console Wars.

Now Nintendo Power that is messed up. How can a company make you an exclusive and you don't even bother to put it in your major magazine. Nintendo did a disservice to them for that. I honestly loved the Gamecube, even if my PS2 got more use. FFX and all the Smackdown games. Also my Dreamcast was awesome. Soul Calibur was so good with so much content and collectibles.
