Just like Deborah Harry's voice on "Heart of Glass" w/ Blonde and Helen Folasade Adu voice on "No Ordinary Love" w/ her band. There were a few influences for this song. The other being the death of her sister. The verses are her attempt to push away God because she lost her faith because of her sisters death. But God won’t go away and the chorus is God responding saying I’m still with you no matter if you hate me.
