Thanks for the reportage. I am from this country. But I must say that you put the accent on liberalism vs pro-family, but the situation is as usually more complex. People may keep liking traditional values, but they chose Maia Sandu because the second candidate is a corrupt moron and everybody was fed up with his stupid promises which are unrealizable.

The rate of the decline of the birth rate in Europe is based on life style, which generates a low birth rate and until this life-style is addressed the situation may remain the same. This is further exacerbated by demographic changes brought about by the migration of a “favoured” population to other climes with the same life style mentioned earlier.
This would generate further changes to the population of Europe akin to climate change but unlike climate change, which is being tackled the reality of population decline in Europe may remain the same. This is part of the doctrine of consenting adults, who are making choices, which must be respected, in spite of the consequences - childlessness.

I agree with the requirement of more money, but money is not all the answer, let us love a little more and stress less. I agree that couples should be paid to have children, apart from child care placement, governments should be involved in the welfare of couples, in spite of the various relationships people form.
There must be a concerted effort to address issues in society. On this occasion we are looking at the decline of the birth rate and the ability to change that is within us to do as humans.
