IT became trendy to dislike Paul and elevate John to sainthood. People who did not grow up with the Beatles have no idea at all how Great Paul is. And that doesn't diminish the rest of the Beatles. The Beatles are a once in a millennia phenomenon. The sum or the whole was greater than the parts, and each of the parts were stratospheric. Impossible to categorize or rate the Beatles. They were The Top, THE best, THE greatest in every category in which they qualified; songwriters, performing bands, recording artists,Rock groups --- whatever they did, they exceeded everyone and everything.
Jay Rich Indeed! I saw them in 2002 & Rusty Anderson said, "Every night from the time I was 5 yrs old, I always had dreams, the Beatles would come to my door & ask me to jam w them. & now here I am on stage & traveling the world with Paul McCartney." It was so sweet :)
I think this is a band of genius and talent that will never be repeated. So fortunate to have seen them many times and appreciate it every day. Keeps getting better. smile away.
Paul couldn't have found a better group of musicians for himself (except for... you know who). 'Wix' has been with him longer, but what great players and singers! Young(er) musicians steeped in Beatles influence. This band is outrageously great.
It call India...This Paul's composition was performed during a rehearsal of a "Driving USA Tour" concert. It was broadcasted on the Internet through the DVD "Back In The US".
Glad to come across this today as I was still a wee down about Gerry Marsden’s rather sudden passing ... This pleasant surprise came round at just the right time. Thank you ....😉🎼🎶🎵🎵🎸👨🏼⚕️🎸
India is just a cosmic song... Unreal, I like it so much. It's such a pity that it never have been released and no one knows it, but on the other hand becouse of that it has its own speсialty.
Remember, this was recorded, I believe, around 2000 or 2001? His voice was 12 or so years younger. But, when a Beatle is around they have that unbelievable charisma. And, he is quite the showman with great music.
It's an unreleased song that I think was made up during a soundcheck performance during his 2002 world tour called "India." Orrrrrr it was written for Driving Rain but just never put on the album. I heard this in the mid 2000s. It's incredible here. He's obviously put a little more work into it.
Sad beyond words that Paul's time left on Earth is so short now. Hope I die before that most devistating event happens. Hearing about Lennon's death on December. 8th, 1980 was devistating and unbearable and when Paul leaves, memories of them both will not be enough to live on.
Although I love all the Beatles ... Paul was the best guitarist Bealtes (and the best pianist, singer, etc..). Paul was the best performer (though Ringo was the best drummer).
Calico Skies.....exceptional! I'd like to know the origins of this video. Videotaped rehearsals? Paul remembers the correct lyrics to 'Honey Don't' wheras Ringo doesn't.... kudos to Paul!
It was actually a filmed rehearsal added as a bonus on his DVD Back In The US, but the rehearsal was only acccesible through computer DVD player, hence the "secret website show"
I remember finding the website. This was when everything was new on the internet. I think you had to buy the CD to get to the site. India is worth the price of admission. The only place I have heard it.
I BELIEVE ITS NOT A MCCARTNEY COMPOSITION. IT SOUNDS EXACTLY LIKE A SONG TITLED "LET IT BE ME" AT LEAST IN A GOOD PART OF THE SONG. IF YOU DOUBT IT, LISTEN TO "LET IT BE ME" SUNG BY THE EVERLY BROTHERS (AND OTHER SINGERS AS WELL). YOU WILL DEFINATELY HEAR IDENTICAL MELODIES IN PARTS OF THAT SONG.
G Man: Question for you, look at the drum set and name, 'Driving Rain' which was the name of his CD before he married heather and the name of his Tour around 2000 or 2001. Granted, they may just have not removed the sign.
I think part of the vocals are prerecorded. Paul messes with his board and Wix too I think before the song. Also the live vocals don’t fully match up with all that is there.
I thought the slightly thinner tone with all the range still intact that his voice had in 2002 was really appealing. A nice blend of his youthful purity with some signs of age that added character. It remained good up until about 2012 after which it fell to bits, sadly.
@@jgh548 Except when Johnny Cash sang songs with his old man voice, the vulnerability and yet professional delivery was wonderful. It wasn't his youthful voice, but was wonderful in a different way. I feel that way about Paul's voice, too. Like in the song Early Days - that voice breaks your heart. In his newer albums he is writing songs to be sung by his old voice. If you haven't listened closely to his albums in the last 10 years, then you are missing some great music sung by Paul with an older voice.
I really believe India is about Linda.. India is letter play word.. switch the letters around using lower case l for L.. linda Hey the Guy still loves her.. ♪♫India♪♪linda♪♫..
Sungodv I think if he got surgery, his voice wouldn't be so wobbly... he could sound amazing like he did in 05, on Chaos, with that deeper voice but the highs beautiful and still effortless. If he keeps up touring and screaming every song, he's gonna have no voice at all.... 😭😭
Sungodv a lot of vocal editing was done on Kisses. I can just tell it's editing because it would croak like it did in "Early Days" if it weren't edited.
Always wished pul would do a club tour playing high enjoy rock with harder more distorted modern edge. Ie; set list like old rockers from the Hamburg days similar to his run devil run material like the Johnny Burnett opener here also from the run devil run lp. That would make an amazing tour rather then hearing songs like let it be for the millionth time.
Have you seen Paul’s live 1999 Cavern performance with David Gilmour, Mick Green, and others? He does Run Devil Run live at the Cavern and I Saw Her Standing There
I don't remember what I was talking or referring to but, don't you think his voice sounds strong with Yakety yak? Stronger than 4 years ago? Maybe, I should watch the whole video?
Agree on the Paul voice being strong, + needed, for full effect, in this singing style, giving it a modern touch, with the combo.of the original idea, the song is known as Hi Ho Silver, or Honey Hush, Foghat do a very good version too, the song Yakity Yak {Don't Talk Back} was Sha-Na-Na + a cover song, written during the rock + roll era, where a lot of songs, had humour characteristics for hook lines.
Listen to his bass playing at 19:10..... Jesus Christ. The man is one of the best bass players in the world.
Absolutely ! 😍
Yes!
He's a great bassist, to be sure..but "19:10" is no big deal.
Some good fiddly bits!
I love when Paul make this kind of mix and improvise about one song, and India is so beautiful, is like a dark song but lovely
What a guitar solo ! Paul is a good guitar player. ❤❤
Paul Is Just Superb ! A God ! And That band was is best ever !!
How can you not like Paul. Those who dont like him must be absolutely crazy.

"Blackbird" like you've never heard it before @ 5:18 . Amazing!
The band sounds great and Paul's vocals are spot on!
Paul's solos in the first song rip through the air :D i've never seen any live videos where he solos that long.
I wish Paul would release "India" on a CD. It's too good to leave it unreleased.
I’ve seen lot of Paul’s stuff but I think this is the first time I see him doing a guitar solo. They sound great!!! Love it!
The members of Paul's band must wake up everyday and pinch themselves

Whan that day comes the world will have lost the gift of music
And we always thought he was just the bass player for the Beatles.
He could have led his own High Performance Blues Band, as the lead Blues guitarist.
Love that version of Blackbird!!

Hot licks around 1:35-47. Man, he's still got it and he ain't givin' it back baby.
