Unless I'm missing something there is no good button for the cable box remote for the g3 . That is the most important part for channel surfing and recording shows at a later time. My wife's s5 has the guide button and she now uses that as the main remote while I can't channel surf on my g3.
Scratch that comment. Just learned that the remote feature can learn different functions from the original remote. I now have a guide button to channel surf on direct TV! This phone keeps getting better and better!

go to settings - general - about phone- update center- app update
you can reinstall quick remote.
