Paused at 0:35 I've had my G3 for just a few hours now and I have to say I love the knock feature, don't know if i'll be willing to go to a phone without it now.
I love that feature too on mines (: On other phones, however, you can root to get Knock Code. So if you ever want to switch to Samsung or whatever you can still do it.

This phone is amazing. I got it yesterday, and wow this thing is a beast. I had some galaxy phones and the problem with touchwiz is that it doesn't feel intuitive, plus touchwiz just plain sucks... You can't go wrong with this animal!
I switched from my Galaxy S4 to this.. Best move I've ever made. This phone blows away the S4. Can't judge it till you go play with it in store. I was iffy on getting it but once I saw it in store and was playing around with it... I feel in love. Lol

Until watching this video I had no idea you could have 7 icons in the dock. I too enjoy having the app drawer in the middle. This honestly made me love the phone so much more, and it's such a little feature lol.

U can make the silde controls for brightness and sound visible on ur notification drop down by hitting the editing for the icons at the top and it should be at the top of ur list of options
I have mine through T-Mobile which, once I get my phone paid off, I plan on taking it back to StraightTalk with me. Anyway, I got mine about a month ago, and I love this phone. Seeing things like the water test, the drop test, and etc, really makes me happy to see it isn't like an Apple product that shatters very easily. I very highly recommend this phone. It's wonderful, HD, and just... amazing. :)
hi, we all know that LG G3 supports USB OTG. And because it is stated in the users manual (page 24) that it supports up to 2 TB. So I tried my 2TB seagate portable hard drive. I reformatted it to exFAT format and transferred some large files movies like AVATAR movie w/c is 15 GB in size. Copy of the GAME OF THRONES complete 5 episode (HD mp4 format). And connected it to my LG G3 thru USB OTG. Yes, it worked.
Dont know if someone has pointed it out, but the volume and brightness slider can be added in the notification area by swiping the shortcuts left and selecting 'Edit'

I fucking love this phone goddammit...bought the white version. 32gb. Gorgeous device...very easy to hold fantastic keyboard . Said goodbye to my Nexus 5 (battery sucked,camera was too average but hdr+ was spectacular I have to say...). The battery life on my g3 lasts an eternity. Awesome
I'm having a small problem with my G3. When I use the microphone to text with I get what I call an ecco. after I send the text I just spoke it will retype it again. This was a problem I had with my other LG phone...any tips for stopping this other than not using voice? thanks Tim

You keep going to the home screen and double tapping the wallpaper to lock the phone. I believe you can just double tap the status bar at the top from in an app. Just a little quicker, could have been a tip on your list! :p
I have the G3 phone and I want a short cut! For this function. If I push the power button (some times I see the volume changing, to off) If I don't see this I have missed several calls. Are there any alternatives I can use that will lock the volume key? So I can receive all calls!

I doubt that's how you do it. They do not let you update an older model of the phone if they have a new one out. They will severely lose money that way. I found 2 ways 2 do it. I just left it at the default.
Ed D It might depend on your carrier. Unlike iDevices, android phones do not all get updated at the same time. Go over to AndroidCentral and search or ask them how to do it. You can definitely upgrade though.

Great video! I have been using a Galaxy Note II for two years and found I rarely use many of Sammy's features, like the S Pen, that made me chose this smartphone. Your video makes me want to move to the G3. It's smaller, lighter and faster than my Note II, with the same 5.5" display. And LG's launcher has many of Nova Launcher's features that I use. Sammy's Touch Wiz launcher is very limited. Thanks for making this decision easy for me!

And while the Note 4's specs blow away every phone, including the G3, I have found I don't use many of the "wiz bang" features of the Note II that carry forward with the Note 4, specifically the S Pen and dual windows (yeh, the G3 has that). As for the short battery life of the G3, I find myself plugging in my Note II whenever I'm at my Mac, or in the car, just to give it life through the day. I also have a second battery and a charger for the Note II that I use often and take on trips. So a second battery and charger for the G3 won't bother me. Later!
Jerry McAfee dude. I got an lg g3. There's a battery made for g3 by zero lemon. It gets up to 9000 mAh .. although it makes it bulkie with the case. But thats the solution... I enjoy everything about this phone especially the 4k screen its mind blowing :)
Yeah. It use to overheat and turn off on tha 3k battery. But the 9k battery made this phone soo amazing. Love my g3. Although it makes the phone hella bulky with the case, but i dont mind the battery is important. I got it off amazon for 60$. Its a win tho
The G3 phones that are going on e-bay for UNDER $200 are a DIFFERENT version than the normal versions you find. They only have 8GB instead of 32GB of internal storage and a 1.3GHz Quad core instead of a 2.5GHz Quad core processor. I believe the RAM is reduced too. MOST of them are refurbished as well so beware. I bought a lightly used G3 in excellent condition for $252 on glyde. It has all the upgraded specs i wanted.

I literally couldn't wait bc my iphone 5 broke, and the g3 had just came out, and I needed a phone for work. In my personall opinion, I don't like the fact that the g3 is NOT flat. So when you put it down, and try to tap on things it bounces around. I have ZERO lag, though. It is a bad ass phone, I just miss my Iphone.
What about the Weather Animation on lock screen? I saw that in settings but it doesn't do anything. Also I have the T-Mobile version but don't see an option for themes.
Yeah I have the mobile one and my weather animations work. They are super nice I wonder what it will look like when it snows lol. My also has a brightness slider.

Great video, just sold my G3 last week and went back to my G2, but some of tips came in handy since I'm using the Optimus g3 Rom on my G2.
There is a brightness slider now in Android 5.0.
P.S. I like how it has at least 3 ways to go into settings.

Another cool feature I found was the quick text notifications like the phone call on the video it brings a small box up and shows you the text.

Droid life there is a brightness sliding bar in the notification you can turn it off or on I hope that helps Good review
The pop-up for an incoming call also allows you to mute the call without hanging up. You click the little arrow at the bottom.

Apparently they've already changed the Screen Swipe affects. It's also under the home tab of my phone, rather than the lock tab.

since updating phone, quite a few of these options show are no longer available. It does have brightner option on pull down🌺
