  • I've been on the lookout for a decent upgrade for my flight simulator hardware setup and have considered quite a few options from Thrustmaster Airbus/Boeing kits to Honeycomb and also this - the TurtleBeach VelocityOne Flight - what I believe is the first Flight Simulator hardware made by TurtleBeach.
    I've upgraded from my original hardware - the Thrustmaster T-Flight HOTAS X kit which served it's purpose well for a low price but wanted something that felt, behaved and looked a lot more premium - it is all part of the experience afterall!
    TurtleBeach's VelocityOne Flight comes as a complete package of Yoke & Throttle. The throttle section itself has an additional mod pack so that you can add a Spoiler handle, or turn the throttle levers into a GA style Throttle/Prop/Mixture set up too - so it is incredible flexible and covers pretty much every simulator setup I can currently think of.
    The Yoke turns through 180 degrees left to right and has a wonderful smooth feel when using it in any direction. There are an incredible amount of buttons to configure too so those of us - like myself - who like to set up custom button configurations and so on can spend a few hours making them for various aircraft. The trim wheel is a joy to use as well.
    It also works on Xbox too so for those of you with MSFS on the Xbox platform, this is a fantastic option for hardware and you can quick-select profiles for Single Engine Prop and Airliners within the Yoke Display too.
    This First Impressions video touches on the initial thoughts straight out of the box, discusses the setup of it briefly and highlights some of the features of this piece of hardware. We then head into the Simulator to take a look at how to reconfigure the detents/throttle calibrations for aircraft like the flybywire A32NX and the Aerosoft CRJ.
    If you want to get it for yourself then click here to order straight from Amazon www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09JM8SX8...
    I'll be putting the ‪@TurtleBeachVideos‬ VelocityOne Flight yoke and throttle hardware to good use over the next few weeks and I'll be sure to let you know if I run into any problems along the way!
    I hope you enjoy the video - the initial bit was filmed on my GoPro Hero 9 with it's inbuilt microphone so there's a switch of audio quality half way through.

    There seems to be a lot of mixed reviews for this product, so I'm glad that you have enjoyed it.

      apparently so but from what I've seen so far I'm really enjoying it - lots of customisable buttons, with stickers to make them easier to identify once you've got it set as you want. The yoke is really nice and the throttles are easy to set up too! Very impressed!

      I've got throttle one and two set to Decrease Throttle when I push them down into the reverse gates 🙂

    im hoping to get the yoke when i get MSFS on Xbox series S... can't wait to get back into the world of MSFS, last time i played FSX was in 2016 and clocked nearly 3000 hours flying 747-8i/8F AN225 and Concorde combined

    Really stuck between buying this and thrusmaster yoke pack, which one should I buy?

      Personally I looked at the Thrustmaster but figured there were just way too many instances of people having a lot of problems trying to set up throttle calibration etc... this Turtle Beach VelocityOne Flight is a fantastic all rounder, and was super easy to set up too... over a month on and I am still absolutely loving using it - it's fantastic!

    I know it's a stupid question, but have you tried to fly a helicopter with it? Or what do you use for helicopters?
    Also I see you mentioned rudder controls, which brand? And do you think other brand of rudder would work with Velocity one? Like logitech or thrustmaster.. thank you!

    • @BritishAvgeek
      @BritishAvgeek  Рік тому +1

      Hi! I haven't got the turtle beach rudder pedals though I've heard they're good. I've got a cheap set of thrustmaster t flight rudder pedals instead for now... in relation to your other question - I don't have a sidestick anymore so I have to fly heli's with a yoke too... it's a little odd but you do get used to it!

      @@BritishAvgeek good to know this yoke is working with other brand rudder pedals. I'm thinking about logitech ones.

    I see this video is several months old now, are you still using it as your primary controller? Have you tested the rudder control at all? (I don't like pedals much even though I have them, I use a Twisty on my Thrustmaster T-160000), Also, I have been learning tons from you, and thank you very much for posting such awesome videos! Would it be possible to do a video on when to consider a Circle to Land, I really enjoyed the videos but am curious about when I should consider doing them. Once again, Thank You for such quality, easy-to-follow, tutorials.

      Hi smokey! Thanks for the comment, I still use it yes and it's working very well still. I do not have their rudder pedals though - had mixed reviews from those who do have it but I haven't tried them myself.

      @@BritishAvgeek Thanks for the reply, I meant the Rudder Control on the Yoke itself, Have you given that a test at all? Also any possibility regarding touching on when to consider a circle to land on any upcoming Videos? Also, if you would, can you mention at times your degree of turn when doing that type of video, would help with gauging just how sharp or not of a turn would be best.

    • @BritishAvgeek
      @BritishAvgeek  Рік тому

      @@smokey433 ah sorry, I have not tried it because I have my own rudder pedals so don't use any "twist" rudder functions. Degree of turn is tough, it'll be between 15-30° but depends on speed, tightness of turn and the wind speed/direction too... I'll look into it!

    Mine is going back. My right hand buttons crapped out, no right hand brake and no right rudder, had it fixed, not long had it back same issue, it's crap, so going to demand a refund, not want this crap.

    • @BritishAvgeek
      @BritishAvgeek  2 роки тому

      How long have you owned it for? I have rudder pedals which I use for rudder control myself so have deactivated those keybinds on the rear of the yoke and they are now differential braking keybinds. I've had it for over a month and still loving it personally - shame yours seems faulty

      @@BritishAvgeek not long, had ut for 2 weeks issue of buttons showed up had it back for maybe 3 weeks same issue, was away for 2 weeks, so sick of it, going for a refund and will just go back to the joypad. Would love the boeing yoke but to expensive

      @@denodan yeah tbh I think the Boeing yoke is vastly overpriced. Sounds like your one was a faulty unit so it's a shame it's ruined your opinion of this bit of hardware. Could always look into Honeycomb?

    • @denodan
      @denodan 2 роки тому

      @@BritishAvgeek also a pain in the arse, everytime to get reverse thrust going, have to either unplug the yoke or restart the sim, I know many others in forums having issues. Honeycomb would be nice, but not xbox compatible
