    Last night I was watching a September 2019 formerly streamed video. You stressed the importance of counting your stitches. Today, this great video ! While watching this I figured out what’s going on with my “Doll” from one of your older videos. Her head looked too big. (?) so I went back to her unfinished head and counted. Oops, her head was supposed to go to 16 or 18, not 24....32 before the decrease!! Guess I’ll make a ball now and a small doll later.....count Chris, count !

    I have a silly question. Can you increase this a few more rows to make it a bit bigger? Like can I go 2,1,1,1,2 and then 2,1,1,1,1,2 etc. then would I increase my single chain rows? Would decreasing just work the same ? Single 2 together, 1 single, single 2 together each round to close? Or am I best leaving this alone? Lol

    • @JaydaInStitches
      @JaydaInStitches  3 роки тому +3

      Hi Maurie! You got it 😊 You might want to add a few more rows of the straight sc before you start decreasing just to even out the sizing, but yes, that's it!

    Hi @jaydainstitches !! If I wanted to make it 1 size bigger by adding 1 extra increase row, would the regular sc rows (4 of them) still be 4 rows or would I have to increase by 1 regular sc row as well?

    • @JaydaInStitches
      @JaydaInStitches  Рік тому +1

      Hi! It all depends on how it looks, you might need 1 extra row of regular, possibly 2, but you'll have a better idea when you get to that point...try stuffing it too (you can take the stuffing back out while you work decrease rows if you need to) to get an idea of how it will look when finished 😊

    Hi jayda. I have attempted to make this ball 3 times and although I think I am doing everything right I am obviously not as when I get to round 5 I have 34 stitches. The start of my ball to the end of my ball does not look the same.

    • @JaydaInStitches
      @JaydaInStitches  4 роки тому

      Hi Sandra, it sounds like you might have added a couple of extra stitches somewhere, but a different of 2 sts isn't too big a deal :) Once you being the decrease rows, you might want to work an extra decrease stitch in each of the first two decreasing rows just to get the stitch count back down again. Then, it's just a matter of stuffing it into a ball shape :)

    Can I do without a stitch marker?? Because I don't have it, and also don't have a small clip.

      Yes! If you need to mark the spot, you can also use a spare piece of yarn :)

    can we use regular yarn or does it have to be bulky?

    • @JaydaInStitches
      @JaydaInStitches  4 роки тому +1

      The soft, bulky yarn helps make this ball extra squishy and soft - but you can use 3 strands of medium weight yarn held together to get a ball the same size :)

    When I decrease, the bottom isn’t round, instead, it’s flat. I did everything in the video... I’m confused

      Hi! Try stuffing it, you might just need to "stuff" it into shape :)

    Everytime i start it off it keeps forming into a bowl instead of a flat circle. Can u help me out?

    • @JaydaInStitches
      @JaydaInStitches  3 роки тому

      Hi! In this case, a bowl is fine since we want to turn it into a ball anyway, but this is a common issue with circles. You can either use a larger hook (to ease your tension) or use lighter weight yarn :)

    Maybe It's because my yarn is a size 4, or something else, but I can't seem to get this at all, maybe once I complete one It will help with the frustration 😂

    • @JaydaInStitches
      @JaydaInStitches  2 роки тому

      If you're using a smaller weight yarn, be sure to use a smaller hook size to keep your stitches tight and help with tension, otherwise, your stuffing will just fall though the spaces!

      Hi Jessie! I've been busy using up the stuffing in a pillow I bought ages ago and never used. It's a Laura Ashley pillow and apparently , they used green stuffing!

    • @JaydaInStitches
      @JaydaInStitches  2 роки тому

      Hi! If your circle is rippling, it could mean you have tight tension or your hook is too small for your yarn weight. In this case, it's not a big deal because you can just stuff it into shape when you're finished. If your circle isn't turning into a bowl while working the middle rows of straight sc, it could mean that your tension is loose. This is also not a big deal because when you start to decrease, it will definitely close up and you can still stuff it into shape 😊
