- The Holter monitor which was invented in the 1940s allows us to monitor the heart rhythm. It is named after the physicist, Norman Holter, who invented it. Take a look at the video to see the original 38 kg recorder that he wears on his back! The Holter is an ambulatory cardiac electrical test, which means that it provides an ECG while you are active not just at rest. The Holter monitor is a test that allows us to monitor the heart for 24-48 hours or longer to assess the speed of the heart or any rhythm disorders that may be present. It also allows us to see what the heart rhythm is during any symptoms that you may have. By monitoring your heart with a Holter monitor we can look for arrhythmias (heart rhythm abnormalities). The Holter monitor is a test that is commonly used to evaluate patient symptoms of lightheadedness, palpitations, and fainting. I will review the Holter test procedure and how it is performed. The importance of symptom rhythm correlation is explained with a Holter monitor so that you can get the most out of your cardiac monitoring test.

Thank you for making this video!

I like the interviewer shes good
Thank you! She's my daughter! I'll let her know.
Can AWACS planes the Airborne Early Warning and Control System aircrafts being used as very sensitive radar aircrafts be converted to dual role in energy wireless transfer if ever the Satellites connectivity are having problem for the moment?
Does it also records audio like your voice can be recorded while wearing it? Im just curious
Thanks for commenting Herz, There is no audio recording just electrical impulses which are measured between the electrodes.
Or the upgraded holter monitors and defibrillators/ cardioverter machines be installed with long antaennas harnessing solar power to machine energy power converters.
At 6:00 you are showing a blood pressure monitor report, not an ECG report.
Thanks sir for well explained procedure, what if in a forest where like treating wounded soldiers or with patient stucked in an island where power source for such equipments are nil and those machines such as holter monitor and defibrillator/ cardioverter machines were out of power for example in a situational basis, are there wireless energy transfer machines whose energy receptors can received transmitted powers wirelessly if ever there's such, how far a distance can those machines be reloaded wirelessly or are the wireless energy transfer tech affected by climate such as windy, stormy, very hot, very cold etc, because having long range or long distance wireless energy transfer technology GPS guided or not by power tower sandwichings as within their overlapping range and climate proof energy transfer to those life saving or resuscitation machines, can be of high value in the market and business.
Can I walk through TSA screening at the airport with this?
The standard lead placement for Holter Monitoring is ? 🤔
Yessi, 02:40.
i have to wear one for a month due to the fact that i have abnormalities in my heart and i keep having seizures
Is holter monitor done once? Even if 6 years ago since I tested?
Im currently wearing one rn for the third time.
Does this test give a better picture of a patient's condition than 2D echo ?
Siva, it gives different information which is additive to the echo. You can see the heart rhythm throughout the entire monitoring and it allows you to look at heart rates, rhythm disturbances and whether patient symptoms corelate with an abnormality of rhythm.
@@MedicinewithDrMoran Thanks Doctor , appreciate your response. I am from India. I am getting heart palpitations and my family doctor asked me to take this test. I believe my condition is due to anxiety triggered due to my dad's hospitalization. I was asked to take few meds for 3 days and if it doesn't subside , I need to take this test. Your video is very helpful.
@@proudindian762 are you ok now?
@@rochwilliams4626 Yes, Thanks for asking. My report was normal. It turned out I had anxiety related heart palpitations.
@@proudindian762 great. I'm getting my monitor tomorrow for 24 hours. Hope my results are good.
Sir what does those number refers 67 66 44? And word N and V means?
Sir there is minimum heart rate is 47 bpm and maximum is 145 is it normal ?
Who is the girl next to you?
That is my daughter Freddie.
@@MedicinewithDrMoran you named your daughter Freddie?
