Explains why my mother has been absolutely exhausted- doctors couldn’t give her anxiety meds so they gave her this. Her memory has been effected and she’s been so tired she had pneumonia 4-5 times over the last year…
I’m on beta blockers and other pills so I really enjoy your lectures and learn lots thank you so much for the information because my doctor is too busy to spend time with me. My Cardiologist does explain everything he does and before he does anything “informed consent”
Dr. Moran ... a great doctor
Thank you for this. All your videos are great. The videos help educate me about my health and help me have informed discussions with my doctors. I alway appreciate your non-biased, straight talk with out motive or agenda. Also your are my favorite cat channel. I love all your main cons.
Thank you for your work Doctor
That was a lot of good information!!! Thanks Dr. Moran!
Thank you for your channel! I'm a Geriatrician internist in Ontario and started my channel to share information that I've been giving out in my practice for decades.
I appreciate your evidence based, clear and approachable presentation style. Keep it up!
Shameless plug, lmao.
That list of medications is critical because sometimes meds get prescribed which can cause serious negative interactions. Having the list allows other medical professionals the opportunity to catch this. Great job on today's video doctor. 👍
Dr. Mohan thanks for sharing your valuable expertise . A lucid explanation
Dr Moran, I really appreciate your talks, thank-you. But I miss the cats.
I'm going to bring them back for a few videos soon.
je ne connaissais pas cette chaîne. Elle est très intéressant et instructive.
I’ve been on metoprolol for many years and I feel that it has ruined my digestive track. It also causes me to have heart palpitations and headaches. I’ve asked my doctor many times to ween me off of the beta blocker. She always puts that in my patient notes, then mentions that I must control my weight, which is impossible for me on the beta blocker. 🙁
Thank you for the informative videos Dr Moran.
Do beta blockers make you gain weight?

I have been taking beta blockers for my entire adult life (48 years), and I am quite convinced that if it were not for this medication, I would not be around today. I am 68 now, BP is normal to (sometimes) high normal. I take 5mg of Bilocor (Biprosolol) daily. My pulse is around 55-60.
Excellent communicator
Good guy no silly music very cood delivery. ❤
Thank you! 😊
An excellent educator ❤️
Excellent news. I've had 2 MI in 2023.
Oh my. I have peripheral vascular disease and coronary artery disease. My cardiologist put me on a very low dose 12.5mg. of Metoprolol due to it's protective effect on the kidneys and my history of CKD which has resolved anyway. I take Amlodipine and Lisinopril too. I'll need to ask about that, wonder if they even realize I have PVD too...one less pill would be nice anyway. Thank you for the info Doctor Moran.
Dear Dr Moran I am a psychiatrist my cardiologist Prescribe me bb for A.Fib after pace maker was placed 6 years ago .I was taking Propranolol a small dosage. After 5 years I am noticed myself I am getting more and more depressed even taking antidepressant . Then I changed propranolol to Atenolol because it is hydrophilic doesn't cross b b b .doesn't cause depression I am feeling a little better but I feel tired always .my question to you Dr.Moran do you have any suggestion related to dosage of Atenolo.
I was dx'd with paroxsymal atrial tachycardia in 1968 and put on atenolol 50mg/ day and still use it. It does me no harm and prevents those attacks.
Thank you, Doctor.
Thank you so much this is very helpful. I'm taking the lowest dose of Bisoprolol. I have been given this for long covid heart palpitations with possible arrhythmia disorder to be diagnose with an ep study. Can you tell me if I take this in the morning could it possibly contribute to my insomnia. I can generally seem to go to sleep but after a few hours sleep I'm wide awake. At the moment I'm lucky if I get 3 or 4 hours sleep. This sleep deprivation is badly affecting me. Does anyone know about this? Grateful for your helpful video.
Thank you for watching my Beta blocker video!

I take carvedilol, spironlactone, clonidine, and my bp is still too high. I've been on these for many years. Don't understand.
Didn't this class fall out of favor with JNC guidelines?
Hey Dr. Moran..it's also used for anxiety and palpitations. My doctor prescribed it for palpitations caused by covid. Works very well for stage fright. Good to know the side effects for whatever reason you use it for.
Thank you for commenting, Maria.Beta blockers are good for different types of "palpitations" which I was referring to when I talked about heart rhythm problems. They can help with anxiety although we have better medications for anxiety. Beta blockers in some people slow the heart rate down too much which can lead to anxiety. I am glad they have been helpful for you. Best regards to you Maria.
@@MedicinewithDrMoranCan losartan cause a drop in pulse rate? I woke 10mg propranolol and recently added 25mg losartan. My pulse has been just under 60. It is usually 72
Thank you so much doc. I take 40 mg propranolol every day for 30 years. My blood presure and heart rate are normal. Recently I developing Raynaud syndrom ( only in a cold season). The propranolol help me by controling anxiety, palpitations and the tremor of the hands. What other drug can I take for this symptoms ? Thank you so much
I wonder what you think of Clonidine. An alpha-blocker (as I understand it)
@divinegon4671 I think that Clonidine (Catapres) is a Beta blocker, but please ask your Pharmacist or Primary Care Physician if Dr. Moran doesn't get around to personally answering your question in the comment section. Have a wonderful 2024!!! 😁💯
👍👍👍👍👍
I am on Clonidine
I was only on 1.25 mg of Bisprolol just one time daily and now I am taking 2.5 mg of Ivabradine once a day, recommended switch by my cardiologist. I am currently while typing this going through hell even with this 1.25 mg Bisprolol low kind of dosage. I am so nervous and anxious. And I wonder if I am at risk? Does anybody know if this is dangerous for me? I was only on 1.25 mg of Bisprolol once daily for one week, but it feels unbearable to come off it, even just after only taking this little amount for one week. Anyone similar experience, advice or recommendations?
Hr was 169 now below 100. I’m 70
Doctor, im presently taking bisoprolol..
Can i play light sports or cricket with beta blockers?
As I have a resting heart rate of 48
5mg of Inderol (Propranolol) has taken my migraines to zero.
But anything higher than 5mg gives me horrible side-effects.
What time do you take
@@nadeemimam7139 Right before bed .. my migraines came on at night.
Been on 3 months now.
What about now
NOT GOOD FOR COPD in my moms case. Just FYI. Maybe she’s a rare case
At 9:04 If you have diabetes 2 why not stop stuffing your face with junk food and start eating real food. Then, with exercise you can begin to shit caning the drugs?
