Would you buy a Volvo over a Mercedes, Audi or BMW?
Only if the comparable Volvo model was 20% cheaper otherwise no
To play on the minds of people that I'm poor. I would buy one.
Yea, actually I already have
Yes, Volvo gives off that old money generational wealth where as I feel most people (not all) buys Mercedes, Audi and BMW for the look at me status
Ordered my XC60 T8 Recharge a few months ago and coming from Mercedes.
My Merc rides beautifully but not really convonced by the new lineup.
Also one detail that reviewers seem to miss is that the Google system was designed to change the settings in the car like the heat using your voice not pushing the screen while driving.
Purchased this in February after pondering and researching about a year prior, I've had Volvo's most of my life, last one was an S80. I'm very pleased with it.
Wanted to mention something about the climate control - it looks like in the video you had it in defrost mode, thus the words "HI" were on both sides. When you turn off defrost, it goes back to 'normal' - rather, it goes back to what it was previously set at. The default display at the bottom of the screen for the climate control is simply a temp adjustment for each passenger with arrows to go higher or lower, no real need to 'get into' the full on menu to play with it, unless you want airflow or fan speed specific settings. I find that leaving it in 'auto' mode with the default fan speed at 3 to be more than adequate for day-to-day use - it warms up and cools down very quickly to get to desired temp. and I rarely find myself going any deeper in the menu to adjust.
Also worth mentioning is the ability to control the temp via voice, as well as defrost and the heated seats.
Appreciate the high-energy review, nicely done. Love my 2023 XC60, made in Sweden (as I'm in the US).
Thank you for those details!
BTW, you can program and schedule your charging if you have the Volvo Car app. Also the back seats can from the back be electrically controlled and folded down, if you have push the additional buttons, like for the tow hook.
The best luxury car brand ever! They’re so unique ❤
This will be my first Volvo SUV to buy bro.
Wow! These car reviews are very high quality!
Much appreciated thank you!!
Another amazing quality and informative review, thank you. Some think Volvo is dated. I actually think they have a certain look that is timeless. They make minor changes with their lights, inside with tech. But overall, you know its a Volvo no matter what year it is. Mike, what happened to the holes on your jeans???? They are gone?😅🤣😂
Got mine delivered last wednesday, so comfortable and its rapid. Gone from 155hp manual to 350hp auto, a 2 ton sports cat to me!
Most Volvos are still made in Gothenburg like the XC40 and now the EX90 will be made here in the US.
So far. Looking really good.
“It’s a little bit of a task” - take two! 😅
Great color
Nice footage, editing, and overall content! Congrats! My 2 cents: 1. Those are 21" wheels. Don't call 'em 22"; 2. You don't need to touch an outside area on the handle to open the door. It's made for closing. Just put your hand naturally in the handle and it will open by itself.
❤Thank you for sharing God bless you
I've this car in red black design like this. I've the laminated glass and upgraded audio. I recommend the windows they keep it cooler and quieter. Love it. Running Pirelli 4 seasons
Looking at a US 2024 . Is laminated glass available at higher trim levels?
I have this colour Fusion Red and its stunning. Down side - I hate getting it dirty 😢
I LOVE mine
Great review as always! Any chance you will be doing the MDX?
Thanks Andy, we have one booked to review in April!
@@ACCELER8TV Cant wait!!
What the hell!? 4,69 on this!?😂😂 MAJOR SLEEPER ALERT!!! I've been thinking about getting my dad this and I'm definitely doing it now!
I just subscribed to your channel.
I really look forward to Mike doing "Mercedes GLS450" simply compared to BMW X7 40i he did not so long ago. Please.
Love your channel always👍
I have one in a spec pretty close to that on a boat right now.
Pro duction 😎👌
Another AMAZING review! These new Volvo's are sleepers. I love how comfortable they are too!
I totally agree!
You CAN choose the hours of charging by the app of Volvo on ur phone!
The freakin packages on Volvos are ridiculously expensive. 10k CAD for the Plus then add bigger wheels and you are at 77k. The XC40 AWD recharge with plus package is 72k and it gets 5k gov't rebate. Wait, Why is the XC40 more than a Model Y? And that's why we see Model Ys everywhere in downtown Toronto. Volvo, bring some competitive prices.
You should do a video on the XC 90 next! 😎
We may have already filmed it too 🤫
not a Volvo fan but good review 👍
What is your opinion about using the google assistant for climate control? I agree the screen controls are not intuitive so I use the google assistant to turn on seat heater or change temperature etc.
This. I believe Google made the controls small on purpose so they force you to use the voice control (which works marvelous btw) which extends to safety since you can keep your hands on the wheel. Good point @GauravChander.
@@xxMuchuxxit works great most of the time, but is still more hassle than traditional controls. The other thing is that there are still lots of things that are hidden in menus and you can’t control with the voice control. Not being able to change drive modes with a dedicated button is a real pain for me. Plus there are two buttons on the left of the steering wheel with the cruise control buttons which seem to have no function at all unless I am missing something. Also you can’t turn the steering assist on and off via voice controls or buttons and you can’t switch between pilot assist and speed limiter without going into the menus.
Don’t even get me started on the fact that the entire entertainment system needs rebooting every few days when it crashes. I love how it drives, but the controls and the infotainment system are some of the worst of any vehicle I have owned.
@@J00LZ49 don't disagree on your observations there. For climate control it works great, especially if you compare it to their previous Sensus system, however I prefer the previous system for most other things. But' let's not get into the whole infotainment discussion here as we'll probably both agree that neither of these two are great compared to others in the market right now :)
Doesn't premium gas requirement negate a lot of the electric/hybrid efficiency?
If you can always remember to charge it at home you can do most of your driving around town on battery mode.
Some clients have shared that they go for a few months without the need of filling up the gas tank if they are charging on a regular basis. The Volvo Recharge PHEV vehicles also have a cool feature that will let you know if the gas is about to go "bad" alerting you to utilize the fuel in the tank.
It's the perfect car! Only problem is the priice...
Do one with the Volvo S60 Recharge!
We did the V60 recharge polestar engineered recently, on our channel!
NOT MADE IN CHINA, MADE IN SWEDEN, FINANCED BY CHINA
It might of been made in China mine was. It depends. The China plant are shut down now. All Volvo are made in Sweden
@@dand8163the ex30 is made in China still
Why not use "Hey Google" to control climate commands? You can increase fan speed, set temperature, etc. The Google Asst feature is a game changer for folks who are 'touch-screen adverse". Eventually car manufacturers will bring back more buttons, but for now at least "Hey Google" is the solution.
Why would you put the battery on hold? That's going to activate the onboard charger and definitely sap your 0-60 time.
You are right to question this.. My understanding (and I test drove and ordered one today) was that Auto was "do what makes sense", Hold is "do NOT use the battery as I'm heading to a low emissions zone etc. where I will need it" (but does not charge except regen) and Charge is, well charge. This begs the question about the 0 - 100 rpm tests... 'cos I suspect they were done just using the engine with no electrical assist - unless it overrides your 'Hold' setting
Nice review! But as a comment - the wood in Volvos is real.
Correction: Made and designed in Sweden (still), although financed by China.
Depends on your market, this one was built in China for Canada
@@ACCELER8TV I see! 👍
Why 58km of range, if it is 77km?
Stop begging people to subscribe you have 35m views you’re past the “like and subscribe” stage
One would think so, but unfortunately there is a drastic difference when we ask Vs when we don’t.
You know that you can adjust the size of the touch screen text right? 😂
Yes it's called old people mode or "blue hair".
Arguably the best looking mid-level luxury SUV on the road, rivaled only by a couple BMW x series. it’s refined and understated, but iykyk! That being said, the infotainment needs a refresh. A little bit clunky for 2023.
Compare it to the v90
two problems maximum speed 200km/h and price
For a Volvo … I mean they change safety for thrill ? 😂
yeah but theyre friggin 70 grand i can buy a new diesel super duty pickup for that much... a turbo outback is like $40K... i can almost buy two of those for one of these... and theyre just about as nice in the high trim levels... if it were priced competitively id consider it but dang... these are kinda offensively priced for what they are... theyre nice but not nearly that nice...
they go 82 km now and they are made n sweden all cars that are made for eroupe and america
Weird this one had a sticker right in the door panel that said it was built in Chengdu, China
i think in America they get from both markets now i guess@@ACCELER8TV
Hybrid cars are required by the U.S to make noise for pedestrians, and blind people so they can hear they are coming.
Really 2023 Volvo XC60 T8? Read Color Beautyful..
Please do not use "voila" all the time, it is redundant for the viewers
The instrument panel is completely non-pedagogical.
They forgot to note that the watch fits completely badly.
The ventilation controls cannot be angled properly.
The driving record is completely useless.
Loud noise in the cup for being a premium car.
Center console wrongly angled.
There are a thousand other little things.
Volvo has lost its soul.
Have a Volvo XC60 T6 Hybrid, guaranteed to be the last one.
Volvo, is in serious serious serious need of an interior overhaul. It’s been the same for what, the last 8-10 yrs. It’s getting real tired. I’m going for Mercedes for sure but to be fair, I wouldn’t include Mercedes in the same conversation with Volvo. Mercedes is far more luxurious.
a little pricey for its size
love volvo but this clear stick shift looks so chinese/asiatic taste and doesn’t matter anything with the rest of the car
Charging can be programmed through phone applications
Nope. Not on Volvo Cars app on iOS.
I unsubscribed! Muahaha! I am Spartacus!!
Nooooooooo!
Seriously? Made in China? That would be a hard pass for me
But the Volvo factory in China is the best one
I just bought one and it was assembled in Sweden.
I like the car, but not the review. To many factual errors. Made in Sweden. The battery is in the central (gear) tunnel.
The XC60 for the Canadian market is built in Chengdu, China. Regretting not showing the sticker that says Made in China right in the door panel.
i wont sub
Sadness.
Volvo is a scam! My 2023 Volvo has a steering wheel that vibrates very badly, making it quite annoying and UNSAFE to drive, and Volvo doesn’t want to fix it.
This review is too much look at me than fact checking. I won’t be subscribing. You need to calm down.
Plastic ….plastic …. Plastic….. too much plastic for a premium car ……
Wow no wireless charging? My XC60 R Core has it EU
They got rid of it for 2023 🙃
@@ACCELER8TV Must be just for the US. Mine's a 23 plate, recieved last Wednesday with a wireless charger
LOL, what a cheap, boring, and outdated interior AND exterior! waste of money for a car.
Better than outdated lexus or Acura
What car with a better interior for this price would you recommend?
