The Motordyne packaging was perfect and you're like "meh its decent" lol. And you down played the finish and welds horribly even tho they are the same as your own product
One point to consider with the Fast Intentions exhaust is that you have options on the muffler length and the x-pipe resonator length. In the video it looks as if the sport mufflers and resonators are used, which will be louder. I went with the longer 18" resonators and 14" touring mufflers which results in a quieter exhaust. Aside from the slightly lighter weight of the shorter mufflers and resonators, I understand that there is a minimal loss of power with the longer mufflers and resonators.
I live in GA, and I love your shop & and videos, guys! I paused the video right in the beginning right after that shot of the Z with the single exhaust. One of my favorite features of the 370Z is the absolutely beautiful split dual exhaust. I would go with a true dual exhaust with an h-pipe, along with high flow cats. I would never ruin the looks of this car by putting some nasty single exhaust with a fart-can hanging off the back of it! Then you still have the indent on the other side where the second exhaust tip is supposed to be. Gross! I wouldn't care if it saved 100 pounds and added 50 HP... You couldn't pay me enough to do this BS to this incredible machine. In fact, if I absolutely had to ride in a 370Z with a single exhaust & fart-can, I would be so embarrassed, that I would lower my head by leaning forward, so nobody could see me in there lol. Thanks for making this, guys! I'm sure it will be awesome 👍
Been ruining the fast intentions with 18” rez and fast intentions HFC’s with Megan headers and still love the system and the sound. Took it on an 8 hour road trip to Orlando and the drone running mid 80 to low 90 was challenging at times.2013 base model
I have the Z1 Touring resonated with ISR LTH; was going with complete Z1 system but no HFC or resonated test pipe anywhere until end of July. I questioned the quality of isr headers, but after having no success locating pne's etc. I decided to go with ISR. The complete system was installed by a local mechanic. He told me everything lined up fine and apart from difficulty with a few of the exhaust nuts he was quite impressed how things went together. The headers are wrapped. I really like the sound of the Z1 but it seems louder than the tested system. At 2000 rpm it's actually excessively loud yikes. After watching the tests, I think I would go with the Z1 race dual w/silencers. No regrets though.
For us guys that like OEM plus, the Tanabe Touring Medallion is top notch. Not too loud, beautiful quality and fitment. I ended up going with HFCs and still sounded amazing
FACTS....you know what? I called mult companies and they are all sold out but one of them called me back and left a voicemail saying theyll order it from Japan..same price as on site. Will be here in the states in 30 days or less. I am going to make that call to order today for my 2008 350z
@redlinevqhr So, I had a baseline run before the tune and it was 310whp, up from factory 285ish... however, I already had Berk high flow cats and Z1 Y Pipe on it. 325whp after tune.
Really love Z1 and I’m a customer for life, this is just something I want to make clear for others! All the dyno tests are of a tuned car (Ecu tuned) you could judge by RPM and baseline numbers, Other thing they didn’t mention is the test pipes, I’m quite sure these test are done with Test Pipes or at least HFC’s on some of them! Other thing I might be wrong about is the air filter element being not the factory equipped cotton, it must be a high flow such as the AFe or even filters were taken out of the boxes or something! Anyways as long as they kept it the same between the runs it doesn’t matter that much, just being clear to others that don’t know about this platform, thanks a lot for Z1 for this awesome test and efforts
Install is pretty tedious with the v clamps is on the expensive side and it wasn’t a top performance exhaust with it weighing the heaviest made it rank 9
How can you see that this video was obviously manipulated, firstly you can see that they are obviously more concerned about the number 1 exhaust system for sale Borla Exhaust, the Dyno test and the way of installation was manipulated since our Borla S-Type for the 370z is easy bolt on and reaches 16HP and 16 pounds of torque, I will only say that for a reason Nissan Motor Sport (Nismo) chose us to manufacture the Nismo exhaust system of the new Z, which is the one that you are offering to your customers, I challenge you to do a live Dyno test so that Do not manipulate the results as you did now, I support and admire you in your other products but in exhaust systems to the César what is the César, Borla, all pending on our next project Nissan Z Nismo Borla project.
For everyone here that owns a 370z and has changed their exhaust, how do you rate these in terms of volume? It’s hard to tell in the test. I live in the UK and coppers are pretty hot on modified cars and you aren’t allowed to have a loud or even “louder” exhaust. What’s a good OEM plus option where you can still hear it but it isn’t too loud WITH HFC?
For the video on 370z I really like the Z1 Touring, MotorDyne and the HKS. Tomei for me wasn’t really the best sounding one, but to each their own fav. Can’t wait to get my Z1 touring exhaust on Monday
Great video! Wish this was out when I was buying my exhaust a couple years ago. Ended up spec'ing my own single exhaust setup - HKS Hi Power Muffler and Vibrant Resonator and Vibrant muffler 2-1. Personally I really love the HKS, very oem+ with very smooth notes all the way.
The GT version and have conversation… was it stock cats? I have mine wit resonated test pipes, my ears bleed wit drone n cops can hear the car cruising within the block. lasted one week n swap to old exhaust.
@@ashrulnayan4232 yeah I have stock cats on the car it’s perfect. If you rev the car out for sure you’ll hear it but cruising I don’t even hear it. There can be a slight drone at times but it’s tolerable for me.

I have a 2019 370z sport pkg 6MT and brought it to LA to have the FI cat back and a Stillen long tube Gen 3 installed. There were no fitment issues, with the tips being perfectly aligned with the cutouts in the bumper shell. The next day I went down the street to Specialty Z and had Seb dyno tune the car. It was running extremely lean all across the rev range, especially at lower revs. After 6 or 7 pulls, he got the timing and F/A ratios optimized everywhere for a uniform 15% increase in torque across the whole rev range. We got 321 peak rwhp at 7200 rpm. The exhaust sounds and looks very good, with my paint corrected ceramic coated black car. I went with the longer 18" x-pipe resonators and 14" carbon fiber touring mufflers, so the exhaust isn't too loud. The increase in power is very noticeable, along with better throttle response.
Almost no Cons for any of the Z1 products but he’s pointing out the same like characteristics as cons for other brands. Dual Z1 Race system will have the same issues with aftermarket diffusers. No mention of that when bolting it up lol. This is for sure a paid ad ! Invidia packages their stuff “too nicely” not needed 😂. Motordyne sounds leaps and bounds better than their touring exhaust and Fast Intentions/Ark is right behind Motordyne. Im a fan of Z1 but after rewatching this video I really see the flaws and bias’s in this type of product review.
If yall talking bout sounding like a racecar. That tomei lol. It sounds perfect just for the higher rpms. I also got the holes drilled for the silencer and it works quite well. With both levels of the silencer are on you pretty much only here induction sounds from your intake
Not sure if you mentioned in the video but what cat setup were you using for these? I know you said you started with a stock catback and stock intake but never mentioned the cat. Are you using standard cat, HFC or test pipes?
Love the sound of the stillen exhaust when I first put mine on everyone at my local skatepark would say they thought I was gonna be those older v8 mustangs when i pulled up slammed my car so now I have a massive hole in the muffler but it use to sound good lmao wish they sold just the back muffler
The most bias video I've ever seen but then again it's Z1. I love how they shit on everything except their own and even the v bands from motordyne. I have motordyne and the install is not hard at all and I would rather v bands over flanges anyway much better in my opinion.
Man I had the Fast Intensions TDX on my Z I miss that exhaust to much it was amazing imo.. I destroyed it during a trip from NC to CA in the mountains of Tennessee lol. I ended up getting a HKS Titanum Hi-Power for $1200 brand new in the box I couldn’t say no. It’s quiet and it had a perfect fitment!! And I could literally pick up the entire exhaust with a single finger 😂. HKS did an amazing job with that exhaust. I still wish I had my Fast intensions though.
Cool video but hate how he has to downplay some of the better systems out there. "iTs nOt tErRible" or "iTs dEceNt fOr thE mOsT pArT" like bro if its good just say it's good. The Z1 exhausts are cool too but it isn't the only option out there. If you can't make the video unbiased then at least don't rank the systems.
I have the ARK, and it sounds so good that i can't justify a new exhaust. I personally wouldn't pay for the ark, as it came with my car, but If i were to go with a new one, i'd probably get the Z1 race dual.
I love the fact you guys took the time to make this video, however I'm not a fan of the test pipes chosen for this test. You should've used a resonated set or better yet kept the stock CATs on. Some of the exhaust notes were ruined, the motordyne for example did not sound good at all in this video. It was missing a lot of something, like the high hum wasn't there at all and there was some rasp introduced that isnt typical with this exhaust. At least it was kept consistent across all tested exhaust.
No Greddy Evo GT huh??? You could not get one I assume? Yeah, me either. That is my go to when I can. TDX was not too shabby IMO I really dig the dual setups.
I'll be honest, I'm a little let down, I would of liked to of seen more. You guys carry 13 brands but you only covered 10 and there's what? 22 variations? At least should had covered Nismo and Stillen as well. I know in the words of the great George Carlin, 10 sounds more official, but for someone who's looking for a setup right now....I feel a bit bummed.
The hks and invidia are both 60mm systems so i dont know why the invidia would look so much smaller to you over the rest. 60mm vs 2.5 isnt much of a difference, 2.36in or somthing like that. Dual 60mm will definetly support more power than a single 3in on high horsepower applications.
I love my motordyne shockwave, it is paired with berks HFC and stock headers on my '17 Z34 idling sounds tame but 3k revs and higher is eargasm. Has a drone 6th gear above 50mph cruising. It is pricey and a very loong build time. But to me its worth it, next is gonna be motordyne modular LTH
God I miss my motordyne man I had to sell it because cops in california just loved to pull me over even when I sold the ART pipes & on stock cats & just MD catback they said it was too loud
@@oc3144 You know what I purchased and installed it again. Just the catback and controlling the RPM driving very very carefully around police especially it has been fine. And I have bright ass crazy wraps on the car too
Invidia Gemini is good if you are ok with having something less rowdy than the others. I could use more sound to be honest. Would long tube headers or test pipes increase the sound output?
Yes. I had long tube headers installed after the installation of the Gemini and the sound is definitely a lot more noticeable, at idle it sounds cammed
I have ARK on my 6mt sedan g35hr and it is amazing especially paired with stillen gen3 intake they both compliment each other very nice on full throttle
I prefer the sound of hr vs VHR exhaust systems. The HR has more of a GTR sound that the VHR. On higher rpm’s the exhaust tends to get quieter on the VHR. I’m not sure if VVEL has something to do with it.
Same. coming from straight pipe there is no more drone in the cab lol, it was a nightmare on straight pipe although it sounded pretty mean despite the raspy-ness. I would like to get a little more sound out of the Gemini exhaust though, what do you think about long tube headers? or test pipes?
@@phobia8879 just my own taste in exhaust sounds, but the invidia gemini with motordyne art test pipes gives a deeper, smoother sound without the rasp and gives the gemini a lot more sound. Cant speak much on the long tube headers but I am running the art pipes+invidia on my z now and really enjoy it.
Borla makes that sound due to the cheaper H pattern for scavenging. X pattern will typically produce more power. I agree with your rankings 7-10, of course I am looking at power and noise level w/in a liveable range. For example Tomei would move further down as the parameter is not a track car only. I would lean towards Z1 Race dual/Touring or Fast Intentions for the top three. HKS at fourth.

I love my Fast Intentions exhaust paired with AMS “ART Pipe” test pipes.I take 3-5 hour road trips and the noise level doesn’t bother me at all. And I love that my Z sounds different from the rest.I get compliments on my set up often. If you follow the FI instal videos they show you how to get the tips aligned perfect. Great video 👍🏼
The Motordyne packaging was perfect and you're like "meh its decent" lol. And you down played the finish and welds horribly even tho they are the same as your own product
It's overpriced and a local exhaust shop can make something better for like 1/3 of that. Buying an exhaust like this is stupid lmao.
Aside from the slightly lighter weight of the shorter mufflers and resonators, I understand that there is a minimal loss of power with the longer mufflers and resonators.
he had to make sure he didnt give motordyne TOO much credit, didnt want it to look better than the Z1 exhausts.
Sounds amazing and the welds are pristine
More than happy with mine including the art pipes 👏👏👏🔥🔥
Same. FI resonated TP, 18” resonators 14” mufflers . Perfection
@@wesoakes are you saying to just have pipes made and welded on to that? I was thinking about going custom but idk how id do it for the 350z hr
The ARK grip sounded great!
I am going to make that call to order today for my 2008 350z
quick question...how are the power gains on the Tenabe? I am going to pair it with a Z1 Modular Y pipe
@redlinevqhr So, I had a baseline run before the tune and it was 310whp, up from factory 285ish... however, I already had Berk high flow cats and Z1 Y Pipe on it. 325whp after tune.
@@redline350zHR Ohh... forgot to mention the Admin tuning intakes on it as well
Wowsers, LOVE this attention to the details! Fit, finish, assembly, comparative HP, noise levels, acceleration, impressions...excellent work! 😁👏
Really love Z1 and I’m a customer for life, this is just something I want to make clear for others!
All the dyno tests are of a tuned car (Ecu tuned) you could judge by RPM and baseline numbers,
Other thing they didn’t mention is the test pipes, I’m quite sure these test are done with Test Pipes or at least HFC’s on some of them!
Definitely would of like to see a greddy exh on this test. I would think the gt evolution is a top selling exhaust
Ranking system is as biased as can be. Motordyne not even in the top 5 but all 3 Z1 exhausts are top 5 lol.. give me a break
No greddy EVO GT dual exhaust??
I have the greddy catback and its my favourite for exhaust for Z. Perfect tone and on the highway I can easily have a conversation.
I love the Z1 parts I have on my G and will most likely add more however you guys aren't saving anyone on shipping. In a world of fast free shipping its hard to click that order button when I see the shipping.
I have the morordyne exhaust with the Motordyne LTH and sound is intoxicating! Worth the wait and every penny.
Drive bys:
Motordyne 1:36:42
ARK 25:32
Invidia 1:05:24
Wish we could’ve seen Armytrix on the list. Love you Z1 Motorsports!!!
why no Greddy Exhaust options? you sell them on Z1
Seriously, the Greddy RS race exhaust is one of the best sounding exhaust for the Z
Motordyne or Fast Intentions hands down
Greddy Evo GT paired with the Motordyne Art Pipes is a perfect match.
I have motordyne and art pipes and that takes the W for me!
Thank you for all of this! Very helpful and comprehensive. The only 2 missing were the Injen and Greddy
Good video gentlemen. Before this I was leaning towards the Fast Intentions. After this I"m leaning towards HKS or Fast Intentions.
Damn that idea remark really made me think. I'm from the UK and I've just been mumbling the word idea now for the last 5 minutes
With both levels of the silencer are on you pretty much only here induction sounds from your intake
you guys should do this with a 350z as well
How does a stock Nismo exhaust compare to these in terms of flow and HP? I really don't care about the sound, since quiet is fine with me.
Not sure if you mentioned in the video but what cat setup were you using for these? I know you said you started with a stock catback and stock intake but never mentioned the cat. Are you using standard cat, HFC or test pipes?
Fast Intentions for the win.
You installed the Fast Intentions exhaust incorrectly. It is all in how you tighten it up.
Thanks guys!
I’m forced induction and my preference is the Gemini. It sounds the best under boost!!
What a surprise, z1 exhaust is rated the highest over very well known brands
Is the Invidia Gemini the V2 or the odler V1?
In absolute need of this exact video for the 86/BRZ/FRS platform!
single exit Ti system? after going awe touring, I think I would choose something else. I have leaks at every slip joint.
😮 is that a genny in the background? Bk1 or bk2?
No Stillen or Fujitsubo?
No ISR?
The hks and invidia are both 60mm systems so i dont know why the invidia would look so much smaller to you over the rest. 60mm vs 2.5 isnt much of a difference, 2.36in or somthing like that. Dual 60mm will definetly support more power than a single 3in on high horsepower applications.
You should do this with the g37 sedan there's not enough of the sedan
I love my motordyne shockwave, it is paired with berks HFC and stock headers on my '17 Z34 idling sounds tame but 3k revs and higher is eargasm. Has a drone 6th gear above 50mph cruising. It is pricey and a very loong build time. But to me its worth it, next is gonna be motordyne modular LTH
Do you guys know if the FI 18 resonatored x-pipe with 14 mufflers louder than a muffler delete??
God I miss my motordyne man I had to sell it because cops in california just loved to pull me over even when I sold the ART pipes & on stock cats & just MD catback they said it was too loud
THIS. I Live in in LA and although the Motordyne sounds incredible I feel like it would be a big cop magnet
@@oc3144 You know what I purchased and installed it again. Just the catback and controlling the RPM driving very very carefully around police especially it has been fine. And I have bright ass crazy wraps on the car too
Great video but what about the aam true dual 3 inch exhaust?
dude! I need to hear this one also! idk if i should get it for my 350z hr...is it insane loud??
Biased but great video regardless 💪🏾
What were they running for cats? I can see they arnt stock hfc? Test pipes? Res test pipes?
But you didn't include the nameless performance exhaust I've got on mine 🤔 it sounds like no other z on the road 💯
Invidia Gemini is good if you are ok with having something less rowdy than the others. I could use more sound to be honest. Would long tube headers or test pipes increase the sound output?
Yes. I had long tube headers installed after the installation of the Gemini and the sound is definitely a lot more noticeable, at idle it sounds cammed
how did you do the pops with the invidia exhaust ?
I have ARK on my 6mt sedan g35hr and it is amazing especially paired with stillen gen3 intake they both compliment each other very nice on full throttle
Did all of these have HFC, or test pipes?
Which manifold? Equal length?
I prefer the sound of hr vs VHR exhaust systems. The HR has more of a GTR sound that the VHR. On higher rpm’s the exhaust tends to get quieter on the VHR. I’m not sure if VVEL has something to do with it.
Ark grip x MotorDyne ART test pipes. Deep exhaust note and isn't too loud and Raspy like most VQ's on the street. Thank me later ;)
i have invidia gemini on my z atm, i really like it, not too aggressive but sounds great when you punch it
Same. coming from straight pipe there is no more drone in the cab lol, it was a nightmare on straight pipe although it sounded pretty mean despite the raspy-ness.
@@ariesrose5846did you dyno it? if so how much power u putting out?
Borla makes that sound due to the cheaper H pattern for scavenging. X pattern will typically produce more power. I agree with your rankings 7-10, of course I am looking at power and noise level w/in a liveable range. For example Tomei would move further down as the parameter is not a track car only. I would lean towards Z1 Race dual/Touring or Fast Intentions for the top three. HKS at fourth.
I have the Z1 Touring exhaust and I have zero regrets. But I must admit the Ark Grip sounded way better than I thought. And btw, what kind of tune do you have on the test car? It burbles like crazy. 😅
What z1 Y pipe did you get?
@@Anonymous-zp6pw I got the resonated modular stainless Y-pipe.
Tomie the best daily exhaust 😎😎😎
Motordyne all day everyday
damn im kinda bummed the Greddy Evolution GT dual exhaust isnt on this list i was hoping to see it in action!
You guys at Z1 planning on doing this for Gs, and Qs too eventually? Maybe even new Zs once more options are on the market.
This is a very helpful format.
We will be doing a 350Z and New Z Shootout soon! As for Gs, 350Z will be the same for G35 and 370Z will be the same for G37!
