I have 3300 miles on a 2019 Colt. I just bought a replacement battery from Royer Battery in Surrey BC. This battery was on special at $950 +GST with 25 Ah or 1200 Wh at 48V. I mostly ride it on Forest Roads so the suspension sucks up the pot holes. One year I saw three bears and they were surprised because they didn’t hear me coming. I agree, it's a really nice looking mid-step option. Not a lot changed from last year, but I think that's because they got it right. The little changes they did make really made sense to me.
Hey Court. My 2018 Rook continues to ride well. Two questions: Do you believe Surface 604 has gotten past their management turmoil of the past few years? Also, would you know if those batteries were downward compatible with previous year models? Thanks.
Court, you are really growing out the hair...myself I'm challenged in that regard. Anywho...I like having this step up in components, it's good to see. That torque sensor seems to do a really good job. I'm pretty surprised that their cable management isn't more refined than some velcro straps at this pricepoint. I'm going to be reviewing the Shred and Quad from Surface 604 and I'm really looking forward to it. Thanks
Would like it if you could have the option to turn the lights on in the day w/o the display dimming. Hard to see the display in the sunlight as it is, but I think they are working on a solution for that for 2022 bikes.
Thanks for another great review. Have you tried the Benelli Alpan Mountain bike, yet? It has great components. I use the highest gear and the lowest pedal assist level, almost exclusively. In addition, it has a push along level of 5km which you can use, in a pinch, as a throttle. May not get you anywhere, fast, though. lol. Welcome to B.C. eh!
Imo its too expensive for a hub drive. For this price you get a mid drive and the same equipment. It looks well made and not too shabby. Just my 2 cents. :)

Court any frame flex or clumsy handling i have a 2020 Espin Flow and it has too much Flex for me. Really like the Rook and Colt 604

I just got the 2021 colt high step for 3000 dollars. Its a bit pricey so hopefully its worth it. 2300 dollars seems more like usd to me.

Bike prices have gone up. Dost is a mid drive and 3699 CAN.
The batteries just seems so pricey. I wish the 20ah was more like 1000 dollars.
The right pedal crank arm is too close to the chain cover.
