    I'd love to play blackjack someday, I've been to a casino twice, but I get too nervous and scared I'll mess something up or do something wrong, and I don't play it... I always have the feeling like the dealer will not have patience or I'll be asked to leave the table because I don't know the hand signals or I mess something up. So I've always stick to the slot machines...

      That's loser talk. The slot machine odds are all heavily in the house's favor. If you play them, you've already lost. If you do blackjack right, the odds are in your favor. Are you there to get money, or are you there to lose it? As for hand signals, there are only 4 damn hand signals, for hit, stand, split and double down, or rarely if offered for surrender.

      Always play card games never play slots there is a reason for this slot machines require no strategy so you cant swing the odds in your favor slots give the casino the highest house advantage thats why there more slots then tables with slots you can be broke in 10 minutes but if you play blackjack good you can play for hours

      Just sit down at a low bet table ($5 min.) and let the dealer know your still learning and the dealer will help you out. A lot of times other players next to you will help you too since you’re all trying to beat the dealer

    I’m wondering if the odds of winning at blackjack are reduced depending on how many people are sitting at the table or do they remain the same regardless of the number of players? Thanks so much for your great tips!

      The number of people at the table does not affect the casino's mathematical advantage in blackjack. It is calculated based on the number of decks used and the rules of the game.

      4.6. Breakeven point is at a truecount of 4.6. This is because the breakeven point is 1.8 in regular blackjack, and each truecount of 1 gives you an additional 0.5% edge, and blackjack 1.2 instead of 1.5 robs you of 1.4%. You're welcome. I wouldn't waste my time with it though, it's better just to play a 2 deck game with 1.5 blackjack. Be aware though, this calculation is based on an infinite # of decks, so it would actually be better if you were playing a 2 deck game, by a little bit.

      You need to 200-500 rounds to archive 95% non-loss confidence based on 51.5% winning edge. 25-30 flat bet units are sufficient for 99% confidence of "alive" long enough (1% risk of ruin). you are expected to win 3 unit per 100 rounds of bet. For 6 decks, 4.5 decks penetration, 3:2 BJ, hit on soft 17 game: you can play average 3-5 hands per hour it requires true count of +3 to +4 with modified basic strategy (always pay insurance, always stand on 16 vs 10, A sometimes 9 and sometimes 15 vs 10, always stand on 12 vs 2 or 3, DD 10 on A, DD 9 on 2 DD 9 on 7 DD 8 on 6 DD soft 19 on 4 and 5)

      @@TheJackpotGents On the contrary, even blackjack 6-5 is still better than almost all the other games. I went to an indian reservation casino once and wrote down the payout table in their video poker games, and went to wizardofodds.com and put them in and it said that the house has a 4% edge. I'm sure slot machines are similar. Keno is like 40%. Blackjack 6-5 isn't nearly that bad, it's 2%.

    • @TheJackpotGents
      @TheJackpotGents  9 років тому +1

      aliteiacrew Safari The deeper you get into the deck(s) the more effective card counting becomes. Since a continuous shuffling machine never lets you get very far before all of the cards are completely reshuffled, it does not work well for counting cards.

  • @jdoggg1119
    @jdoggg1119 10 років тому

    I agree to avoid 6-5 games, but I have to respectfully disagree about the CSM's. Think about it, if you just got a blackjack, those cards are returned to the shoe, instead of having to play the entire shoe out, then having the dealer reshuffle them.

    • @TheJackpotGents
      @TheJackpotGents  10 років тому +3

      jdoggg1119 The main problem with CSMs, for the average player, is that the game is faster. Blackjack, for the basic strategy player, is a negative expectation game, meaning the casino has the advantage over you. Even if you play perfect basic strategy, which most players do not, you are playing at a disadvantage. The exact disadvantage can be calculated based on the number of decks used and the rules of the game. Since the casino has the edge, the
      more money you put into play, the more the casino will win. Let's say
      you bet $1,000 per hour and the casino advantage is 1%. You are expected
      to lose $10 per hour. If the game is made to go faster, so that you
      play more hands per hour, then the total of all your bets is increased. If your total bets per hour goes up 10%, from $1,000 to $1,100, then your expected loss rate will also increase by 10%.

    • @seanylewl
      @seanylewl 9 років тому

      americancasinoguide if you have a strict guideline for how much you are going to play, wouldn't it be better to play a CSM, since they have a lower house edge? For instance if I went in and decided I was only going to play 100 hands, and rigidly kept to that decision, then surely the speed at which I play doesn't matter, and the CSMs would be better? I guess this video is for beginners and the CSMs are a bit of a trap, but a lot of people seem to think that CSMs give a mathematical advantage to the house, when they simply give a productivity boost. Is that accurate?

    I wonder can the 6 to 5 blackjack be beaten by counting cards?

    • @theridleyrocks
      @theridleyrocks 8 років тому

      +kennydanis I don't think so. I believe even the best card counters can only swing the odds by about 1.5% in their favor, but when you play at a 6 to 5 table, the odds are already about 2% in favor of the house. Part of the strategy involved in card counting is knowing when you can get more blackjacks (the table is "hot"). If you've got a hot table, you want to rack up all of the "bonus" money that you can (and increase your bet accordingly).

    • @GaryLuKOTH
      @GaryLuKOTH 5 років тому +1

      Technically, yes, but a good count is very rare (+2 true count is not good enough), so it is very hard to get the edge.

    • @medexamtoolscom
      @medexamtoolscom 5 років тому

      Yes, at least in a 1 deck game, but it is not worth bothering to do so because you might as well just play a better game such as a 2 deck 1.5 blackjack game. You need a fairly high bet spread, in other words, you would need to bet the minimum bet of say 10 dollars and then suddenly bet the table limit of like 250 or whatever when the truecount surpasses 4.6, and even then, your average hourly take will be fairly small, and with a high standard deviation of outcome (imagine flipping a coin, heads you win 510 dollars, tails you lose 490, now flip the coin 100 times starting from 5000 dollars, you'll be done if you're ever 11 behind in the first 50 flips).

  • @kennydanis

    My opinion is playing a game with CSMs is terrible. I would personally save the travel time and expense and play blackjack at an online casino if I cannot go to a casino and play a traditional blackjack shoe game. If they use the ASM that is fine, but the CSM is a no no.

    • @medexamtoolscom

      americancasinoguide Most good gamblers have a set amount they want to win or lose so that doesn't really matter. I would, however, recommend a table without a CSM for a more traditional player that doesn't gamble much or know what to expect.

    I think continuous shuffling machine is ok, just you can not count cards. Since you are here to have fun the more game you play the more game you have fun. so, I think the "Don't play with continuous shuffling machine" should be removed, I think. Unless people not here just to have fun.

    • @TheJackpotGents
      @TheJackpotGents  6 років тому

      Sorry, but I would have to disagree. Since blackjack is a negative expectation game for the non-card counter, that means you are expected to lose on every hand you play, over the long run. If you play a game dealt by a continuous shuffling machine you will play more hands per hour. Therefore, you will lose more money per hour simply because the continuous shuffler deals faster.

    • @atipatlorwongam1063
      @atipatlorwongam1063 6 років тому

      well, you said that in the video. ^ ^ I still don't see it is a problem for those who come to pay their money to have fun, since we all know it is a negative expectation game which litterly there is no game in the casino is possitive expectation game. Blackjack is already one of the most fairest game in the casino if you stick to the Basic Strategy.
      I think your videos are verry informative and I subscribed you channel, I love watching your videos ^^ (I think I might have watch them all over and over for 3-4 times already)
      I'm living in China, so I mostly go play in Macau more. I have not been to Las Vegas once in my life. And in Macau they all use continuous shuffling machines for all Blackjack Tables. So, to me it is normal using a continuous shuffling machine. ^ ^
      I'd like to give info on Macau's BJ rules. Although they use continuous shuffling machine on every BJ tables, but they really have a set of good rules. Typically every casino is about the same. They all pay 3/2 on BJ, Dealer stay on all 17s, you can double on any 2 cards and after splits, you can serender you hand but not with dealer Ace up card. you can split up to 4 hands. In MGM and Wynn you can split you Aces to 4 hands but other casino you can only split Aces once.
      With these good rules EV already is about -0.45%, with continuous shuffling macines the EV is a little higher for player (According to the Wizard of Odds) so I guess it should be around -0.4% which is not too bad, I think.

    You should always jump in the middle of the shoe when count is large positive. Otherwise you simply lost money on betting 0 and negatives. Very stupid to lose money that way. Only roughly 3 % time black jack is playable (player has advantage). It is even worse if you constantly play $5 bet and all of sudden bet $100 or more when count is large positive because you definitely card counter to pitboss. Jump in the middle of shoe (wonging in) and leave at 0 and negative anytime it happens (wonging out) are basic skills 21 player should master. It significantly lower your risk. 20 betting unit minimum flat bet on +3 +4 or more will be sufficient bank roll for you! If you play whole shoe, and use 1:4 spread you need at least 50 time of you maximum bet bank roll. For $10 minimum table, it is $200 versus stupid whole shoe player's $2000 bank roll requirement! 10 times the difference.
