But, knowing how to do these things, even if we won’t be able to practise the full stack project, is still great.
i got massively into woodworking in the beginning of 2020 , i got diagnosed with cancer and while going through chemo , when ever i was actually awake i'd watch woodworking videos on youtube , you are one of three woodworkers who made me wanna start , i just wanted to say thank you , during the time i found ur channel i really really needed something to make me wanna get up and do stuff and the inspiration i got off you made me wanna do that. so thank you very very very much for doing what you do.
I really love how you're so thorough in explaining what you're doing and making sure we're all on the same page. The little text edits also help a lot in that regard. I've never done any woodwork, but I absolutely love watching these videos with my morning coffee.
I really like the WD-40 Dry Lube. I had to stay out of my shop for a month to be a nurse to my wife fir her knee replacement. I touched up all my metal surfaces with grit blocks and sprayed liberally with the dry lube and looked today and not a speck of rust.
Great job! A suggestion if I may: consider marking-off along the support arm. The numbers can be made larger, thus more legible, and less likely to break.
Or even make some positive stop spots (little rounded notch in the arms, assuming they don't change the angel) so you know you hit those more common angles every time.
It's so awesome to see a large woodworking channel using consumer grade tools. Soo many channels of your sub size have only expensive commercial grade tools. Also your husband is a very blessed man. He has an awesome wife!
Everytime I watch your channel I am impressed with your ability to think outside the box I've been in the business for a lot of year's and never watched a channel that was so enjoyable Thanks
Hands down hat tipped you're the jig queen without a doubt. This jig by far can be used in all sorts of furniture making. Thanks for sharing your brilliance with us all Tamar!
This really felt more like a EUREKA! moment rather that a jig build video. Other than what it is intended to be, the realization of what it can BE more is WAY more satisfying. . . BRAVO Tamar, as always. . .
3x3 custom jig Queen. New nickname, I have gotten more jigs from your channel than from any of the other channels. Thank you so much. Hoping for another guitar build soon.
I think I've watched most if not all of your builds Tamar, I think your amazing, I just like to watch and admire your skill and the way you present, I hope your proud of yourself, you should be, you do a great job, you seem like an amazing human. Thanks for giving me loads of watching enjoy. Look forward to your next proj. Take care and stay safe out there.!
Hi Tu-mar, well I've just turned the video on and it looks like my aging brain is going to be jiggered again. Yep, 19 minutes and 41 seconds later and that's just about as jiggered as it has ever been. To be honest, the shot that you had of the dowel insert after you set your drill at 20 deg. is similar to any dowel that I have inserted after drilling a hole free hand, which is far easier than your procedure, but then again, when this happens, I am usually attempting to achieve an upright 90 deg. finish, so I guess your process might have something going for it. Finally, the shot of the back of your head at 19.41 seems to show another type of jig that holds your hair in place while you work on your other jigs, and it is a great relief for me to point out that this jig was much easier to understand. Seriously, another good one Tamar, and if I watch it a few more times then I am sure that my grasp of the subject will improve, so please don't feel offended if so far, I have spent more time watching you than I have the manufacturing process.
I love your videos. I am impressed with your ingenuity and persistence in your work! Your humor and humility are awesome, too. FYI, I made a drill press table (not angled like yours) and had the same issue with the elevation crank handle, but I wanted a wider and centered table. What I did was cut three 3/4 inch pieces of plywood the same dimension as the stock table top, and laminated them. I affixed this block on top of the stock table. I then built the table on top of that. This allowed for the crank handle to turn freely under the table top. It decreases the overall depth I can use, but I have never needed that much space. I am not near my shop right now. When I get back to it, I can take a photo and send it if you want.
Love it! I have the same drill press, and am in the process of making a table for it. Never thought about having it be angled, but now... Oh, and dealing with the crank is annoying. I've seen a few solutions, but not sure which one I'll be going with. I might consider one person's solution of replacing it with miter gears and extension rod.
Amazing once again. I wonder if you would ever consider doing a video on how you learned all these skills. Because not only are you a brilliant woodworker but a brilliant design engineer as well. 🇮🇪😘
Great job! I've made many single use angle jigs for my drill press and then thrown them away after. I'll be making this adjustable (and reusable) one soon. The half protractor is a brilliant idea!
Two comments: The piano hinge could have notches cut at the bases of the T-track for access instead of needing to cut the tracks shorter. The sacrificial insert needs to be much thicker, as drilling on an angle with a wide drill bit (forstner) will go beyond the depth of it on the higher side before the bit has completely gone through the work piece on the lower side.
Luv the way you explain things and make them look more reachable… … I think I have a crush on my new teacher 🤣…. Jokes apart we appreciate the work put into your videos . Thank you
Tamar... another great project. As and when i make this i might make the bases a bit thicker so the sacrificial insert can cope with larger angles without drilling all the way through it. Thanks so much, always enjoy your videos. X
Tamar, you are such an enjoyable presenter! You really know your stuff! Your communication shills are clear and efficient. Your designs are easy to understand. Only twice did I ask myself “what she doing this set for?” It became in just moments… a lead-in statement would have made it wordy or “talked down to”. I’m hooked on you videos! Thank you an please keep them coming.
Great video, also liked your article in Fine Woodworking. Plan to make those to make those spacers for the router table fence. Now I have to make a tilting table for my drill press. Nice work, thank you!
Nice gadget. That is some clean looking lumber. Must make life so much easier having all the space and the right tools. I've been doing minor stuff in the space of a 1-car garage that is also my gym. The ballet dance of having to maneuver with wood while using a miter sase, table saw and drill press on the floor is crazy. I put them all back to their regular spots to reclaim the gym space afterward. There's no space for a work bench. Even one one casters.
Careful with sprays in the drill chuck. Too much can make bits slip, especially if you use tiny round bits. Really like the design of the fences and how they adjust. Versatile and simple.
Definitely an interesting and useful jig. I will for sure invest the time and materials in one if I determined that I need it. One thing I like about your videos is the presentation of basic techniques that can be used for simpler projects as well as the subject project. For example, why not just cut t-slots and use t-bolts and knobs on a replaceable backing board you attach to the drill press table, removing the need for extra clamps to hold it on. Yes, there are no fences and no angling capability, but you're going to destroy and replace the board so you want it to be simple and quick to make. And, if like the table on my drill press, the bottom is complex and difficult to secure a clamp to, I can also easily add a clamping board underneath the table. thanks again for a ton of useful information, richard -- A principle from a specific activity that generalize well. From cycling: Principle 6: If the people you're with want to ride off without you, let them. You know where you're going.
Love this jig! One suggestion for the support arms hitting the table top: If you make the threaded hole for the locking knob offset towards or away from the hinge 1/2" to 3/4", the arms will pivot as you decrease the angle.
Sorry my bad. I'd like to see you bling up your shop furniture so I can copy it. I love how your mind work's and comes up with solutions to problems I haven't even though of yet. Thank you!
@10:30... Did anyone else just get a craving for waffles? My second thought was the beginning of Aladdin with the merchant showing the multi-use item. Lol Tamar, I love that YT suggested your channel to me. You explain really well, and have some awesome ideas. Keep up the cool innovations!
I love this. I’ve always just made dedicated, fixed angle plates for each project - your idea is way better! I have one question - how do you square your jig to the quill? I.e., how do you ensure that the rotation of the hinge is square to the travel of the drill bit? Does that make sense? Your jig can hinge up or down for rake - how do add or eliminate splay? That’s always been my biggest challenge with these drilling operations. Keep up the good work, and congratulations on the FWW article!!!
Drill press tables are a pain in the neck to tilt for sure! One would think with all the technology we have that a better easier way would be developed! Nice Jig!
You do a great job. I am always amazed at your talent and drive. All of the different jigs you have made I would forget which one for what. Keep the videos coming.
I want one! I noticed though that the drill press table wobbles on its main support, rotating so that it is no longer aligned with the chuck (mine also does this). I wonder if drilling at an angle might cause the table to twist. Those tables are really a terrible design. I have already thought that I would like to add a second vertical track for the table to ride on so it is always centered. I completely agree that the "tilt" bolt feature is useless as well.
Yeah. I hear you there. That’s a good idea to try to make something so that it stays aligned. It’s so annoying that it doesn’t stay straight. I have to just eyeball it to make sure it’s in a good spot

I have a 50 year old drill press with exactly the same problems. How times have NOT changed!
You're very clever. Great solutions.
Hahha glad you like it!
You have all reasons to be happy.
The work ended perfect in every angle. GREAT
👍👍👍
I’ve had a floor drill press for 40 plus years and never thought of this. You are the best!
Awesome! Thanks!

That’s a good idea
Yeah, I saw the exact same thing on some other video in the last week or so.
Or even make some positive stop spots (little rounded notch in the arms, assuming they don't change the angel) so you know you hit those more common angles every time.
You are the jig Queen. What a great drill press table build.
Haha agreed 💯! Very inspiring which is always the goal for a builder. 👍🏼
Haha glad you liked it!

We love watching your shows.

The Jig Master strikes again! This would also be a really nice jig for folks that like to make chairs, especially stick chairs. Nice design.
Haha totally! Thanks!

Once again Tamar your design wins me over after watching a ton of video options for drill press tables.
Tamar that jig is great like all of watch you build, it shows you think a lot and plan before doing your projects, very useful, thanks !!!
Glad you like it!
Adding a shaft extender would eliminate the issue with the handle hitting your table so you can center it.
Love your vids. Thanks!
Super guter Job und erleichtert das Bohren von schrägen Löchern ,Greetings from Germany
Tamar, You are so far now from "it just an hobby". You are totally pro. Love it
☺️☺️
The master of jig strikes again. Superb construction, well done and efficient.
Haha glad you like it!
It was always exciting whenever you take us to your journey! I appreciate the idea of having an insert that is replaceable whenever got teardown!
Glad you like it!
I think I've watched most if not all of your builds Tamar, I think your amazing, I just like to watch and admire your skill and the way you present, I hope your proud of yourself, you should be, you do a great job, you seem like an amazing human.

Haha thanks
You’re a genius. Just love your creative solutions.
GREAT jig Tamar. As always, there is NOT one jig for everyone but we can adjust it for our envoronment.
Thanks! !! !!!
Glad you like it!

Another very useful jig and you always explain everything so well......thanks Tamar!
Glad you like it! Thanks!
I have the table from Feb '96 WOOD magazine on my floor model but I need this little jig too. Thanks again
Nice. Another suggestion - make the guides accept non-right angles to allow compound angles for stools etc.
U r quite the little engineer that’s amazing and u just got ur degree ⭐️
Tamar, I have a project coming up soon where this drill press jig will be a life saver. Perfect timing! Thanks!
Awesome. Glad it was helpful!

Bonjour, je découvre votre chaine et c'est magnifique ! merci !
Impressive, always impressive!!! ALWAYS!!!
I love the jig. You seem to have quite a knack for these.
Thanks! It’s fun to figure out
0:56 that was one smooth transition!

Pretty pretty pretty good Tamar. Awesome video as Always

Great jig! If you want a larger table, consider making an extension for the crank😎
👍
Nice job. Love it.
Thanks!!
I love that you are you are using your new toy
And that is a great jig!
Glad you like it!
Beautiful presentation
Thanks!
Queen of jigs 👍🏻👍🏻
thanks Tamar, I will make my own
👍👍
I’m new to woodworking and I’ve been racking my brain how to do angled mortise joints. I think this would work. Great idea Tamar!!!!!
Awesome. Glad it was helpful!
My name is dadang im from indonrsia. I like your job. Thank you.
What an awesome solution. You’re so creative! Love to see your excitement when you saw it all come together. Great job.
Also wondering what you’re going to do with those big slabs behind the drill press
Thanks! No plans for the slabs. Got them for free. So I had to take them…. Ha

This will be nice to drill for pocket holes

Tamar, enjoyed your article in FW. I need to make both this and that router fence. Keep up the good work! -Scott Helland

Hey, great video! Try using rubbing alcohol to get the doue sided tape off.

Tamar,
I love that YT suggested your channel to me. You explain really well, and have some awesome ideas.
Keep up the cool innovations!
Combination hookah and coffee maker! Will not break! It broke…
Tamar Great build, nice jig. it will come in handy multiple times
Glad you like it!
You are the queen of Jigs and I am so appreciative of that! Keep up the great work!
Thanks so much!
Nice jig. I'll make a versión updated to my Bosch PBD40 drill press. Thank you one more time Tamar.
Awesome. Glad you liked it!
You never seize to amaze Tamar. Thank you for the video. Time for me to build mine.
Have fun with it!

You are such a badass. Really inspire me to learn more about woodworking.
Awesome to hear 🤘
@0:57 dat transition tho !
Very slick Tamar!
Haha 🤘
You are doing a good job .I liked the way you presented the program I love that
Awesome to hear. Thanks!
Awesome jig, could make the insert part as a metre long piece in advance then just cross cut a section off when your ready for a new one.
That’s a great idea!
what a cool idea,it really turned out great
Thanks so much!
Great work 🙂👍
Thanks so much!
@@3x3CustomTamar your welcome (: 👍
That’s a cool jig Tamar! You rock!
Glad you like it!
Drill press tables are a pain in the neck to tilt for sure! One would think with all the technology we have that a better easier way would be developed! Nice Jig!
Haha right!!
You do a great job. I am always amazed at your talent and drive. All of the different jigs you have made I would forget which one for what. Keep the videos coming.
So awesome to hear! Thanks!
That's a great jig. Good job!
Glad you like it! Thanks!
Brilliant idea! Really nice design.
Glad you like it!
Tamar you are awesome. I really love your videos. That you for letting us into your shop.
Glad you like them!
You have an awesome mind. Nice jig. Love ❤️ it
Also check PPE for scorpions, centipedes,... And great jig, I may make a removable version to go with the drill press table I already have. Nice!
Hahha so funny that we all do that
Angled drill press table by day tortilla press by night.. great jig i making one for sure. Great problem solving.
😂😂
Hey Tamar, Brilliant!!! We know how you love your jigs, but this one is awesome , thanks for posting, keep 'em coming, stay safe
So glad you like it!
Great idea.Great execution.
Glad you like it!
Love the T-track idea for the fence and clamps. I'm going to have to try that.
Glad you like it!
Great idea and we’ll done!! I always get great tips from your videos, Thanks!!
So glad you liked it. Thanks!
