I changed the price to $1 since I think a lot of people are just downloading for the sake of downloading. I’m getting bombarded with emails so I’m hoping $1 barrier to entry helps with that. If $1 is too much, email me directly and I’ll help you out.
Thanks very much! I recommend building a small stool or table using the staked joinery technique and see if you like it. Chairs aren't complicated, its just lots of small steps that come together.
Awesome jig! Thank you! I am imagining a shorter one because I only have a few of those extended ones, and off set from the base for for use with spade bits. Game changer!
Great, excellent accuracy, howeeeeeeever, I thought you were going to make a compound angle jig, very tricky, probably involving a universal joint of some kind, I await that one 😊
Very nice! I have used my laser for jigs and tools just about more than anything else so far- very handy. Couple of things to consider for a future iteration- slots and bearings. I love to tab and slot things to put together- it just makings alignment that much better and if you cut them right it can make things more precise. To increase accuracy even more, I think I would put bearings in the pivoting piece for the extension rod. Typing that just now made me think of another one... maybe an option to tighten down the pivot before you drill so that it is locked in to the angle you are drilling. Probably a lack of coordination, but I know the luck I would have trying to hold a pivoting piece at an angle and trying to hold a drill bit into the pivot at the same time. If I get time I will try to get you a sketch.
I see what you're saying, but it's not necessary. A shown in the video, it's already giving perfect results. I would have been happy if it was within 1 degree. The bearing on the pivot point makes no sense. It's not like you're moving enough to generate friction.
That's a great idea. I have been wondering how to jig up for some angled holes. Not large ones as you were making but small, up to 3mm. I can miniaturise the design as I've had to do for 4" table saw and a small router table.
Made the jig! It’s great. Any modifications made to your drill bit? Mine keeps wanting to “walk” a bit at the beginning, pushing my alignment off. Thanks!
Good stuff! Does the marker (paint pen?) on the edges seal in the charring, or is it just esthetic? I’ve been struggling with making edges that don’t transfer charring onto things!
Sorry, had to comment twice on this one... Dustin makes God-tier jig. Dustin explains articulation of "spinny thing" on said jig. Parts of me wish i could explain to (anyone) why this is $%&@*^! hilarious!
Now you have something in common with NASA - after an expensive mistake (in their case the loss of the Mars Climate Orbiter) - you both came to the realisation that the Metric system rules.
Really nice tool you've made and I appreciate your giving the plans away for free. But other than an email why do you need name and address. I don't really like spreading that kind of information around.
Like I said you made a really well though out tool. I've made some bar stools in the past and had struggles on getting compound angles just right. I guess no one cares about their personal information floating around in the cloud. Guess I'll just lie about name and addresses from now on. Thanks for the plans, it will make these kinds of projects easier.@@dpmakestuff
First off, NEVER look up jigs while in "incognito mode"..... C'mon, man! You know the government is watching! Secondly, and I say this seeing that you clearly like dabbling in new things/challenges - you should try incorporating some leather work into your projects. Im a woodworker myself (not at your level), but I have been thinking of ways to incorporate the two in "collaborative" projects... Anyways.... Cheers!

You could also put the files on Printables :)
AMAZING! Thank you for making it simple and accessible… would love to see more chair making content. Maybe a spindle drilling jig
Thanks Dustin - appreciate your sharing the plans
I don't make chairs, but that video made me want to try. That is the coolest jig I've seen in a long time. Nice work and a great entertaining video!

More videos please!
Nice. I continue to be very jealous of your projects. Awesome work as always
Thank you very much!
This is so great, brother! I can barely check my email, and am very jealous of your computer skills. What a fun way to iterate!
Aww shucks! Thanks so much!

Brilliant, Dustin! Fantastic work!!! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks! You too!
Thanks Dustin for the plans
When I saw the “I ❤ DP” print, I almost did a spit take! Whether that was intentional or not, it was hilarious.
i too love Diner Parties!!
I sent your mom these stickers, she should have them any day now ;)
I heart Dolly Parton
Oh! Dustin Penner. I was hoping that "I ❤ DP" is a bumper sticker?

This is for compound angles.
I will never do this, but thanks for taking me along on the journey. Most enjoyable!😊
You should give it a try. Very rewarding. Thank you.
That is pretty slick. Nice job.

found it...this is fantastic thanks Dustin

This would absolutely adapt to a smaller form factor! Best of luck!
Congrats! Very nice!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this jig! Outstanding!
Thanks.
this is very similar to Peter Galbert's drilling jig which works great!
Yeah… that’s sort of the whole point of the video.
@@dpmakestuff sorry I missed the first few minutes of the video. nice revision
That's a great jig young man,and pretty simple to make too by the look of it.
Very easy. Free plans for laser, CNC or table saw.
I like the jig. Did I miss where you set the angle?
Nice man. I like it.
Yes, another DP video. It is going to be a great day. That jig is brilliant, and a great upgraded modern design.
Thanks very much!
Nicely done! Thank you.
Thank you too!
COOL!! I'm never going to make a chair but, . . . . COOL!
Doesn’t have to be a chair! Google “staked furniture” and you’ll see all kinds of things to build.
Brilliant
Excellent solution
Made the jig! It’s great. Any modifications made to your drill bit? Mine keeps wanting to “walk” a bit at the beginning, pushing my alignment off. Thanks!
You can find videos on making your own brad point bits. It’s not too hard and that’ll help. Thanks!
Thats really cool. 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Good stuff! Does the marker (paint pen?) on the edges seal in the charring, or is it just esthetic? I’ve been struggling with making edges that don’t transfer charring onto things!
A little of both. I sand the edges to knock off the crispy bits but it looks like crap after.
Very cool.
Sorry, had to comment twice on this one...

That's a great and brilliant jig..Are you selling this jig?
I sell the plans to make it for a dollar on my website!
Thank you!
Very Cool .. Thank You for sharing .. Cheers :)
Thanks for watching!
May I ask, what is that drill bit that you used?
Here you go, I'll at it to the description too. amzn.to/3UGXMbI
Genius
Clever
These are through holes, right? Not blind holes? I was assuming you were drilling blind holes from the bottom but they would be canted the wrong way!
Through holes from the top of the seat.
The link provided for the steel rod is only 6" long. Yours seems a fair bit longer than that. Am I missing something?
Sounds like you're missing about 6". Link is fixed
Can you make another secret compartment video
shelf or something the likes
No you do it.
Now you have something in common with NASA - after an expensive mistake (in their case the loss of the Mars Climate Orbiter) - you both came to the realisation that the Metric system rules.
I’m Canadian, I should have known better.
Always wait for that last piano chord…. 😅
it's my favorite feature lol
Did I spy crocs?
Adidas crocs!
👍👍👍
Wot happened to the bass riff?
wha?
Lasers are nice, but it’s the unsightly burnt edges which IMO are ugly. Wish they could fix that, but it’s impossible.

I don’t. It’s just the website form. You can lie on everything it makes no difference. First time in 10 years anyone’s complained about it tbh.

Bgm..?
i have no idea
@@dpmakestuff Can't you tell me the background music that's on every video?

OK, question. When we see you typing on your laptop, are you really typing? Naw, I don't think so. :)
Movie magic.
