This has to be the best 30 minute woodworking video I have ever watched. Cinematography was excellent, narration matched what your were doing, no run on's, no anoying music when it was present I hardly noticed it, which is how it should be. I love how when you make a mistake you show it, it makes the beginner feel like a normal person. Most of all the subject and instruction were helpful. I am inspired to produce content like this. Great job.
I'm a retired engineer that took great pains to design tools and fixtures that met specific needs as well as be flexible enough to meet future ones. Your ability to identify a need, create elegant solutions and build them with extreme skill and care was a pleasure to watch. You have a rare and wonderful mix of skill and talent ... you are a true craftsperson. Cheers
As a long term subscriber, and a commercial carpenter myself in hospitality sector, every time I just can not stop to admire you and your projects! Keep moving forward!👍👍👍
I love your attention to detail. You must spend a lot of time checking out all the smaller components. Then you build it with a sense of style. Great job!
I applaud you for crediting the videos that inspired you. So many times I see videos that people present ideas that are their own but are inspired (sometimes blatant rip-offs) by other's designs. Everyone likes to take the best ideas and try to combine them into their design. It's also convenient that you posted them to give us inspiration or a design that we like. 🙂
First time watching your channel and my first thought was, "You really have a well equipped shop!" I have been a finish carpenter for 25 years and mostly I carry a portable shop in my van and I set up what I can on each job, depending on available work area. Mostly, I build stairs and balustrades, custom doors and some built-in furniture. My shop at home is only a table saw, a drill press and a workbench. I have been making so much for so long with so few tools that I am now able to build almost anything with nearly no tools! You do nice work and I like your presentation.
Great video. Clear visuals, concise narration, and perhaps best of all the background music was not annoying! I've been combing through videos and articles on drill press table builds for the past week, with the intention of "stealing" the best ideas I come across. Unfortunately, most of these builds are simply regurgitations of the same tired ideas. You have presented 3 ideas that I haven't seen before: the miter-gear elevation crank, your use of magnets for mounting the extended table to the drill press's metal platform, and the tilt-down extension wing are all concepts I'm going to include in my own build. Thanks for posting this!
for years ive been watching your videos in great appreciation of your ideas and your amazing use of space and now since a few months I have a shared workshop! To tell you the truth it is the best feeling ever to finally be able to make all these nifty things for my own space :) thank you so much for all the content!
You are so OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder), and that is a good thing, for a maker & carpenter.. loved the build.. I'm a retired master carpenter (I have detail related OCD (I'm a perfectionist)) I was a carpenter back in the day, way before computers or even phonematic nail guns or any battery tools.. Lots of tricks of the trades were lost, cause most tradesmen never shared their tricks with anyone, but they're apprentices and children.. Thanks to youtube and the early DIY shows on PBS, most of the old skills, methods & tricks won't be lost, also love watching the younger generation with a passion to build & create with they're own hands.. Thank you so much for sharing, you earned my subscription...
I love your methodology and presentation style, I also remain jealous of your drill bit selection and your ‘drawer setup’ Very nice result to all your efforts!
this just show up in the "suggested for you" and so glad it did. so its so good to see woman doing this kind of DIY. amazing job well done, great design to with the crank handle.... now a subscriber.
I subscribed a long time ago because your imagination was taking you to places. Great craftsmanship. It is also nice to see personality in the narration. Thank you for opening the curtain to the challenges and errors you've experienced, it makes you relatable especially the way you secure the glue with paint cans. I laughed but heck yeah I will do the same thing too. Keep on inspiring.
You are just one of the coolest and smartest people I have seen on Tube. Over the years, your videos have taught me a lot and gave me ideas that I wouldn’t have been able to come up with without your inventiveness. Love your work.
This is by far the most beautiful and functional drill press table I have ever seen! I had to laugh though when you repaired the dado. Been there, as all woodworkers have! Great job!!!!
The most fancy drill press table i have seen on UA-cam. Everything is so well thought off. One thing i didnt get was how the 2 fences stay aligned when connected. Thanks
You are a perfectionist to the max and I love it. That is the most aesthetically pleasing Drill Press Table I've ever seen and I've researched many. Great job! Also, your video production is killer! 👌👌
Don't know exactly how long you've been doing this, I consider you to be very much a professional woodworker congratulations. Keep up the good work looking forward to your next project
I must say, I just discovered your channel. I am so impressed. Your creativity is a gift. As a creative person myself I admire your attention to detail. I really love this project and I'm so impressed by how you solved some problems that others did not have adequate solutions to. I look forward to seeing more videos from you as I continue to build my own channel and workshop! Bravo 👏
This was a very nice project and video coverage was great. I have to praise you too, for the use of interstitial music. I like a little music, but not when someone is talking. Also, I hate it when the music is so loud that I have to yank off my headphones. You got everything perfect on this one!
Oh wow, thank you!! I try to level out the sounds so they're not annoying or the voice becomes inaudible. Thanks for the feedback on that! I really appreciate when people point out these other aspects of the work.
Looks great. One idea for Drilltable or Fence MK2. When i made my Drilltable I decided to keep the fence low. Because sometimes you will use small Drillbits too. It´s bad when the drill chuck touches the fence.
I will never own a drill press in my life, but I'm looking forward to watching this video. For me, it's all about the designing process and Cris' sense of aesthetics.
Just found your channel! LOVE IT. I am just starting to get into woodworking as a hobby because I am retired military and tired of just walking around in circles LOL!! Love the attention to detail
Kudos!!! This is the sickest drill press table I’ve ever seen by far…. Super jealous… the moving of the height adjust was the biggest revelation of all. LOVE IT!! You’ve got a huge fan now which is not easy to do. GREAT JOB!!
I don't do wood working myself, but it looks like such a game changer having this upgrade for your future projects. It was really interesting to watch your process.
I enjoyed this. I made a drill table some years ago that works quit well but I saw you moved the crank to the front. This is going on my list of ToDo's! Nice Job!
Just found your channel - I like seeing how individuals make use of small shop space. I think for sacrificial centre on my own table I'll just use a 3D printed piece as it's the easiest way for me to produce circles that fit. PLA is recyclable.
I have been looking to update the base for my Drill Press, and your idea, in addition to being very functional, you also have good taste with the color and design
that is one of the best drill press tables that i have seen made. it is so great i think i am going to have to build one. and it is so perfect i cant thank of anything to add to make it better lol .the front crank is my favorite part. I am always banging my knuckles or cant get to it. thanks for the ideas
I LOVE the miter gear solution for the table crank. I am so going to add that to my DP table. Very well thought out DP table, although I have my doubts about painting the T-track. Hopefully, it won't cause any problems sliding the hold-down clamps.
Excellent how-to video. Couple reasons. Showing us all the features up front is exactly the right thing to do. Brisk presentation with lots of consumable details. And a useful, thought-out design. One thing though: I'm not a big fan of music backgrounds. I get that people feel they need to do this, but I don't agree.
Great project and great video. Thank you very much you just solved a problem I was having with that gear extension, now I don’t have to cut a massive corner out of my drill press table. However after looking at your table, I think I have to start again. Your table looks awesome 😎.
Excellent. Enjoyed all of the many many steps. Fun colors with the Valcromat stuff. I know it’s available in US but it is prohibitively expensive. When you turned on dust collection it reminded me of when I first turned my new collector on and sucked up all the paperwork off my workbench. Gone in a blink.
I was looking for some ideas as to how to make my drill guide a lot more useful with something along the lines of your drill press table. I don't have a big workshop with so many awesome tools so I have to focus on small bits of equipment that do lots of stuff well. I also have to be able to store them when I am done. Your accuracy and attention to detail while still producing beautiful yet super practical results is really impressive!
It's not MDF; it's Valchromat. It's distributed in the USA by Trinity Innovations. Valchromat is similar to MDF, but you could also look for a pure plastic alternative by using the search terms "Recycled Plastic Lumber", "Recycled Plastic Wood", etc.
This the first time i saw your video, i wasn't expecting too much,... I'm not easly impressed but you, you are one of a kind, your skillset, dedication, patience and perfectionism, i'm blown away my jaw dropped with disbelief. Me myself they tell i'm skillful and handy comparing my level with yours i'm just a joke. You are amazing, well done!!! Subd
Outstanding job. It seems perfect for my application as well. The only thing I would have added are magnets to the ends of your split fence with a tongue behind one of them to help them line up or some sort of slot and tab in the ends.
I liked not only the project but the way it was presented. Many if not most UA-cam’rs have trouble integrating a music track along with dialog. The music is either tedious or downright annoying. Yours is perfectly done. Keep up the good work.
I'm just setting up my shop, I was just given a floor standing drill press and will be copying a lot of your ideas. My Katz-Moses router plane is suppose to arrive today too! Great build :)
I want to congratulate you! You did an awesome job on your tabletop. I'm pretty old school, so my drill press top is really basic. But yours is a piece of art. You should be proud cause really, you made me want to remake my drill press top. Congratz
Very nice setup. The off set replaceable insert was a great idea. I have one like that I made and it has a small square insert in the middle. I should be able to make mine round and off set like yours. My Fence does not split, I just take it off if I need full death. One thing mine has is the Drill head can move forward about a foot so I have a 90 degree surface in front with T tracks and hold downs clamps. This allow me to drill dowels holes in the end of stock if the parts fit from the table to the floor.
great video, i think the hidden hinges can be routed instead of chiselled? the rounded ends are a giveaway that they are designed for routers , like quickfit door hinges.
An absolutely amazing work of art in my humble opinion! Such a good idea for a drill press table without having to invent a brand new metal table. Perfect DIY project! Honestly, you have so many good ideas, and I genuinely hope to be able to recreate a lot of them when I get my own woodworking shop!
Nice build ! I would not have thought of the off center drill plate,...good idea ! Inspired to upgrade my drill table. Thanks for your wonderful videos, creative ideas and detailed builds !
1st timer and WOW! Beautiful work (not sure about using black on t-track tho) and the both look and feel must be right to have a finished job in my humble opinion. You’re desire for the ‘just right) is admirable and others need to take note and stop the “oh it’s ok for work or in shop” we are part of that viewing group and never treat us a throwaway!! Beautiful work, beautiful video, beautiful editing………….just those black t-tracks jumping out at me lol Bob England

Thank you very much!
@@GetHandsDirty - except for that ONE hole. ;)
(the rest is awesome - mass motivation to do something like that on mine!)
Your craftsmanship is absolutely next level! Someone to aspire to you are!
Best Drill press table I have ever seen!! Very well done.

I agree. The ethical way is the best way for everybody.😊
That is a work of art, one of the best drill press fences that I've seen. 10/10.
Most excellent. I've watched hundreds of drill press table builds and yours by far the best.

BOOM! A great project. I love how your shop projects look as good as they function.
Best looking and best functioning drill press table I have ever seen! Bravo!
Thank you very much :)
The off-centre replaceable insert is genious!
This is definitely one of the best and most thought out designs I've seen. Well done.
Wow, thanks!

Incredible how you worked out where the crank handle would be positioned!
“Beautiful work as usual! Love the Synthwave at the end!”
I just built my DP table last week. I wish I waited to see yours. Really nice. Thanks for your videos!

Dear Cristiana, just a lot of compliments for all the details and attentions to evrz step on this project!
I admire your material & color selection at the same time the way you making details in the furniture 👏
Thank you so much 😊
This is by far the most beautiful and functional drill press table I have ever seen! I had to laugh though when you repaired the dado. Been there, as all woodworkers have! Great job!!!!
Ahah! Glad you liked it! :)
perfect timing ... i have been thinking of upgrading my drill press , this is now my inspiration to action
The most fancy drill press table i have seen on UA-cam. Everything is so well thought off. One thing i didnt get was how the 2 fences stay aligned when connected. Thanks

I love the flexibility and style of this. It’s fantastic. Might be worth adding some grease to the bushings and bevel gears, if you haven’t already.
Thanks James! I did put a bit of grease in the miter gears :)
I don't do wood working myself, but it looks like such a game changer having this upgrade for your future projects. It was really interesting to watch your process.
Hey thanks for your feedback and yes, it brings the drilling experience to another level! :D Great to see you!

Wow, excellent project - well executed. I am going to borrow your magnet idea with cleats for my drill press table.
Such a great solution-I love that you gathered ideas and inspiration from other sources 👍
I have been looking to update the base for my Drill Press, and your idea, in addition to being very functional, you also have good taste with the color and design

Awesome concept of the magnets to secure the wood top to the cast iron sub base.
Your skill level is undeniable!

That’s a great build. Your attention to detail is awesome. Glad I came across your channel today.👍🏼
A ton of cool features here, and more red Valchromat! Really well thought out and executed design here. Thanks for sharing!

Yep, it seems to be more available in Europe than here in the US.

Fantastische Arbeit , sehr gut gelöst. 👍👏👏👏 viele Grüße Christel aus Magdeburg Deutschland ☺
Very nice build with great ideas to make drill press much more user friendly and safer. Thank you for sharing.
I'm just setting up my shop, I was just given a floor standing drill press and will be copying a lot of your ideas. My Katz-Moses router plane is suppose to arrive today too! Great build :)
Now that’s what a call a drill press table!! You should patent it.
Great build. Love the crank addition. Cheers
That is the most awesome drill press table I have ever seen!! Good detail in explaining how other can build it as well : )
This was really impressive! Also, the optional colored MDF now seems mandatory! I like it!
I want to congratulate you! You did an awesome job on your tabletop. I'm pretty old school, so my drill press top is really basic. But yours is a piece of art. You should be proud cause really, you made me want to remake my drill press top. Congratz
If all could afford a tool shop like that.

Genius solution to an age old problem without breaking the bank. I hope you patented it as it has great commercial interest.
great video, i think the hidden hinges can be routed instead of chiselled? the rounded ends are a giveaway that they are designed for routers , like quickfit door hinges.
Really nice. Very cool. Your thoughts and designs always impress. Thanks!
Hello from Terras De Bacalhau!
Awesome build! My next shop project will definitely use a bunch of these ideas
Ahaha Terras de Bacalhau? Noruega? I'm curious now :)
Gorgeous! That's really really nice
Beautiful work, beautiful video, beautiful editing………….just those black t-tracks jumping out at me lol

Brilliant work, Cris! Really beautiful drill press table! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Bardzo dobrze wykonany Projekt. Pozwoliłem sobie go skopiować. Pozdrawiam serdecznie. 😊😊
Lots of whistles and bells but the most clever feature is the offset sacrificial insert. Brilliant!
Wow! Super cool! 🤩🤩🤩 You're so creative! ❤
WOW! What an amazing upgrade to your drill press! I am in awe of the work you do. Thank you for sharing. Cheers!
Glad you like it! :)
Awesome project, really took the drill press to the next level!
Wow, another well thought-out project !!!
Your equipment and tools are some of the best in the world when it comes to wood, and if I wanted to design a wooden space station I would have to ask you
Amazing job, just that! No more words needed! 👏👏👏👏
