    After watching several videos, I found one that suggested using cornstarch to lightly dust the mold prior to adding the silicone and after it dries to have better results in removing the project from the molds. Hers were very intricate and they came out beautiful!

    They turned out great! I used to have some of my Mom's plastic doilies. Guess they were popular in the 50s or 60s. We had them in the middle of the table with a decorative base or bowl on them.

    Made some. I squeezed out some silicone and colored it, then put in mold. The round one looks good wrapped around the bottom of a decorated craft tag. Nice added detail.

    They have caulking at the dollar tree!! I went and purchased some today. I'm going to try this with some old mint molds my grandmother had. Flower, leaf, book, scroll, graduate head, etc. Great idea!!

    Try waiting till they are dry and use some rubbing alcohol with the baby wipe to rub off the hazing...Helps cleaning them up...

    • @roxyfur
      @roxyfur  6 років тому

      I do mention that you have to wait 24 hours. The baby wipes work great as is,too.

    Use a large screw as a stopper for the caulking cylinder. It won't let the air in.

    How fascinating. Do u think if you use it in a journal it might glue the pages together? Especially if u put a heavy book on top pf it? Just wondering. Wouldn't want u to ruin your artwork.

      Artsy Chik I'm thinking cornstarch and noticed someone else suggested it. I'll have to do some work on it...

    I have Acrylic Siliconized Sealant does that work? And is is applicable to pour in deep molds? Not thin stencils as yours (not so deep something like baroque molds pattern)

    Any other option to use to make lace?? Any homemade paste??

    • @roxyfur
      @roxyfur  3 роки тому +1

      I think you could but it has to release from the mold. You could also try cornstarch and water to make a paper- like clay.

    use a different tool such as a dry wall putty knife or a cake decorating knife and it will be so much faster spreading the caulking

    Have you tried to paint them so they aren't "sticky" in your projects?

    • @roxyfur
      @roxyfur  6 років тому

      Not yet but I will. They are less sticky as they dry. But I do wonder about that.

      roxyfur ..... I used caulk on one of my journal pages and had to end up putting cornstarch on it to keep it from sticking the pages together. Let me know how the paint works out!!!

    You will want to shove a big nail in the end of your call tube so it does not plug solid if that happens your tube is done.

    OMG! Be quiet and get on with the tutorial. I’m here to learn not to watch you open packages, show me how to use a caulking pistol or show us something that’s up side down! My goodness, get on with it!! Sorry it’s been a bad day. Can you tell us where you purchased the large one? Thank you.

      *OMG!*
      Some suggestions to assist you:
      1. Look at the bottom of the video. The third icon from the left looks like a speaker. If you hover over it with your mouse the word "mute" comes up. Click on it. All will be *quiet*.
      2. Same taskbar on the bottom, this time look for the cogwheel, 4th from the right. Hover text = "settings". Click on "Playback Speed". Scroll down and select the number 2. The video will play twice as fast, thus taking up less of your precious time.
      3. The red x at the top right corner of your browser window will make this video that seems to be irritating you so much disappear.
      4. If you plan on asking a content provider a question, perhaps don't start your comment with so much attitude and snark if you really want an answer.
      5. Sorry you felt the need to pay it forward with your *bad day* so the content provider could share in your misery. Two months later, you also share your *irritation* with me and who knows how many other people in the intervening time. Your bad day keeps on giving and giving adding to the total of misery to the comment section of UA-cam.
      6. Perhaps try uploading a tutorial of your own. I see you have no uploaded videos on your channel. Maybe it's not that easy to do?
      7. Before you clap back at me with more of your attitude and bad mood, take a moment, re-read what you initially wrote and have a think about the negativity you've added to the internet.
      8. Hopefully your bad day has passed and you're in a better frame of mind now. I'm not. Thanks for that.
