    It's not an option for everyone but honestly having a friend to run casuals with comes in clutch for getting those lab combos into your actual game.

      It really helps speed up the learning process when you can just instantly rematch and go for the thing you've been practicing all day in a lower pressure environment! I've improved immensely just from being able to play a friend of mine for 2 hours straight every couple of nights

    one of the hardest parts of landing combos to me is reacting to the fact that the opponent actually didnt block
    thats why i just mash as if they didnt block!

      id recommend practicing punish combos first, that way whenever someone does something you KNOW you can punish, you will land the best combo you can. it will also help with hit confirming whenever they drop their guard mid string and converting to actual combos.

    • @i.ftekhar
      @i.ftekhar Рік тому

      Yeah, it’s mostly about being able to confirm whether or not they’ve been hit off of two hits. Three hit confirms can still be useful but two hits is where it’s at tbh

    Sajam when his opponent has full life, full super, collected the 7 dragon balls, chaos emeralds, has pig advantage, has dumpster advantage, entered IK mode, popped Overdrive and X Factor, got positive bonus and has vorpal, but has less drive than him: I think this is good for me

    The way you describe being overwhelmed against humans when you're learning a new fighting game is so accurate. Your performance and mental state going from the lab to ranked is night and day. It really does feel like you're being stormed from every angle. You accounted for everything, but against an assault you're in a blind panic. Your hands are sweating, you're dropping basic shit, somehow you end up holding the controller back to front. But man, after enough practice, the transition from panic to acting with intent is one of the most satisfying and noticeable roads of mastery in gaming. Every time I begin a new fighting game, I have to remind myself that all it takes is familiarity and practice.

    I'm a Tekken player, this is my first SF and this commentary while he's playing is helping me a LOT. Definitely less options compared to Tekken in terms of defense so almost all of it is just reacting to stuff, so it gets very difficult when you're not used to it, especially with chrs like Marisa and Kim who play by their own rules and completely skip the neutral in this game.

    • @sirjeanpepper2492
      @sirjeanpepper2492 Рік тому +3

      Less options than Tekken 🤨
      Keep in mind that you have drive reversal available to you

    • @Nateolison
      @Nateolison Рік тому +6

      @@sirjeanpepper2492 I need to play more SF6, but I agree with his assessment rn. Plan on playing both series moving forward.
      But in Tekken you can side step, crush, power crush, or parry every move, and you can create movement patterns that OS your opponent's strongest tools while also opening up space in your mental stack.
      Defense at high levels has always been very strong as a result.

    With Chuns hp she's either -4 or +0 into a stance where an 8f is the fastest button that can connect at that range. I'm starting to see more 5HK (+0/+6 on block but doesn't hit crouch) and 2MK (-6/+2 on block, special cancel, hits crouchers) more because they have good range, are + with stance, and have reliable combos on hit.
