I’m very nervous about the next Lamb of God record without this dude.
Honestly I'm not, he has a pretty predictable drum style that the new guy will have no problem mimicking
@@jakew2350 lots of people can imitate but not a lot can innovate and fewer are on the level of Chris.
@@jonsmith7659 that's the only thing I'm scared of is them trying to go for a new sound because of the new drummer
I just hope he's gonna be included in the writing process.
@Dusty Mumpower yeah they announced it out of nowhere last week. What's more worrying that they have been very tight lipped as to why. If it was just an argument I feel they would have said that. I hope everything is okay
It’s obvious a drummer didn’t pick out the clips in this video.
Agreed😂
Seriously... they showed the drum fill from descending😂
Duke9089 it’s obvious that now they got something to die for
Well lets see your picks then!
Duke9089 agreed
Adler has that perfect triplet of attributes needed for metal drumming greatness:
- Ferocity
- Precision
- Imagination
Most household metal drummers have 2. Few have all 3.
Also, his triplet is pretty perfect
Tommy Aldrich was better and more ferocious and with million times more credible bands. LOL
@@drummersinger5324 Nonsense... Tommy is a good drummer but saying this just shows you have no clue what you are talking about. They are both great drummers but very different.
I will miss this guy in Lamb of God
Yea me too i guess i dident know he left bro
Too bad that he had this motocycle accident
@Dusty Mumpower yea me too here also
Lamb of God will not be the same without him😕
God's Headbanger he actually made a statement saying that he was actually kicked out. It had nothing to do with his accident 🤦🏻♂️☹️
Such an amazing drummer sad to see him leave LoG 😢
I'm not sure he 'left' LoG. He was more like 'replaced'.
Maybe because he cant caught up with the music of LoG after his bike accident
@@cedrickclemente8106 you say that as if it's his fault.
@@markhynes1940 nope. I'm not saying that it is his fault. What I'm trying to saying is that it might be the reason why he leave the LoG. This is the same with between joey jordison and slipknot
@@cedrickclemente8106 I don't think it was his decision rather the band's, as I think I read there's still no clear sign as to when his full recovery will be.
how are you gonna show him playing "ruin" but not "the ruin fill"?
I know right.....!!!!! 😑
It was litterly like 4 measures away when they cut it off, that fill is what made me replay that song and burned LOG into my brain forever. First time ever hearing them, I think it was on a headbangers ball cd, after that I was hooked. Seen them live with slipknot in 04' log stole the show that night.
My thoughts exactly hahaha
You guys picked the worst possible clip for “Ruin.”
Agree
They should’ve shown the fill
Worst clip an didn't even show the fill -_-
Terrible
I guess you could say they ruined it
his work in dystopia was awesome
"In your words" And "Black Label" Never cease to amaze me
In your words my first LOG song, still my favourite to this day
The bass line on in your word at the outro really enhance the atmosphere of the song. Listening it on my headphones loudly never fail to give me chills
Chris's drumming style is very different to other drummers in the industry. Even you can only hear him play without seeing him you can tell he is the one playing.
It’s because he thinks In triplets. He uses ALOT of triplets.
Very few drummers got that signature style. Gavin Harrison, Mike Portnoy, Baard Kolstaad
Perfect
I was just listening to Blood Of the Scribe and had the urge to search up Chris on UA-cam... This man is a gift to the Earth.
His snare sounds never be forgotten
i love the crack sound he has
Definitely my favorite drummer of all time. His drums have such a full sound.
I love Chris and his worth ethic, but I hate his snare sound lol
@@warmchordmusic717 yeah at first I really disliked his snare, but it’s honestly my favorite now.
Reminder he started when he was 21, and went on to blow away the drumming scene. It's never too late to start.
No Doubt 🤘🏻 He’s Machine. One Of The Few Drummer Who Plays Effortlessly
Basil Limbu similar to him is Alex bent from trivium
Lars ulrich????
Sunbather Chris was a pioneer, but Alex is a god
His drum parts are never insane, but they're always awesome. I also like how he uses the double bass to keep the beat of a song and not so much the high-hat. Best example is Laid to Rest obviously where 90% of the song is just a constant triplet bass pattern
Exactly. His playing is the perfect balance of technicality, groove and fun - he never overplays by just playing blast beats etc... and I love his double bass stuff. He uses it very creatively and not just for playing 16th notes
Raven Sarphie you ok?
Joshua Martin did you steal that Raven guy’s lunch money or something?
@@np466 lmfao so much anger
Raven Sarphie Jesus Christ dude chill the fuck out and take your meds. And a spelling class.
It's really scary how tight he play..
What a dedication!
"In your own words" is my favorite chris adler piece
It hurts that I saw lamb of god live for the first time after all those years of waiting without Chris..
I’m sorry dude...Chris was one the best parts of LOG and he was amazing live. I have been listening to lamb for the better part of 15 years now and I just don’t how it will be without him moving forward.
That clip of descending at 1:30 gives me chills. His timing blows my mind 🤘
what about Willie ;-;
he has a click in his ear
@@behindthen0thing525 you have a click in your ear
Slipknot was not the same after Joey left I get the same feeling. for LOG
More like Paul Gray
Slipknot turned shit long before joey left.
matthew thomson BS
@@sandansaiyan5675 ahhh ok yeah thanks for clearing that up
@@shetzlinejr Not really he was just a bass player not more
It's a total opinion on who is the best drummer on earth is.My opinion is chris is one of the best metal drummers in histroy.love his style.
My all-time drumming hero.
Lamb of God will never be the same.
Probably one of the most unique styles I’ve ever heard. This is what makes him a metal GREAT! 🤘🏼
Man, Brad Pitt can surely play drums!
r.i.p. to one of my fave bands of all time. Chris was an absolute monolith, i doubt they will be anywhere near as good without him.
Love his double bass skills 💪
That first riff was the first time I saw a focus on Adler (being a drum cam) and I fell in love. Dude is a machine
One of the drummer with incredible precision and accuracy. We are going to miss this guy big time
LoG will never sound the same again. Chris was a huge driving force behind the band.
Definitely one of the greatest, I'm still sad that he left Lamb Of God. And Megadeth.. 😪🤘
That Descending clip literally made me tear up with how smooth it was
Eversince I got into LoG 15 years ago I have always thought Chris Adler is the best drummer up until this day. He even wrote the drum riffs of Blotted Science songs. His drumming style and beats are just so versatile that you can hear almost every type of drum beat in a single song.
Probably my favorite drummer. Hope he is able to recover, and come back.
Thank you for posting this
Chris is forever the heart beat of the beast of known as Lamb of God/ Burn the Priest!
That one dislike is from Lars...
There is always a frustrated fool making fun of Lars xd
Where's 'the faded line' amazing drumming in that song. I think Chris knew when he first recommend Art as his fill in after the accident, that he would not be able to recover to his fullest. I still don't get the people that say there is bad blood between him and the band
Chris has stated before that LoG is his baby and he was committed to that band, that's why he walked away from Megadeth when Dave wanted him to join full time. The fact that LoG made a shitty generic farewell with no public comment from Chris makes it seem like there's a bit of bad blood somewhere. I hope Chris comes out and clears the air soon as to how it all went down.
So many good drum songs on ashes.I always thought of hourglass as kind of a filler until I saw him and willie play it at the drum show years back.He just kills it.
@@mzwmeathook3691 there are a lot of underrated songs on ashes as a whole. Blood of the scribe, remorse is for the dead, extra nail, what I've become.
@Natasha Victory shattered collarbone, shoulder and he had damage done to his hip
He is one of my favorite drummers and always will be.
I share the same birthday as Chris Adler. Super cool. Happy Birthday Chris.
Each time you publish a new list I already look forward to a new one.
So pumped this showed up on my feed again. Adler was the reason I listen to heavy music 🤘
saw him live in delhi. he played exactly like the recordings. awesome dude.
Thanks for this Loudwire! Cool way to pay a homage to the guy that made me start playing drums
So many iconic songs.
How can you show “Ruin” without “the fill” 😂?!
Miss him already : (
will miss you, brother
good thing that I got to see lamb of god with chris this summer
Good luck for the future great man, one of the best of all time! \m/
He'll definitely be missed..
Very cool, but can he play back in black?
I think that's too technical for alot of skilled drummers so I don't think so. He may get to that level someday though
Not with the same groove as phil rudd.
@@martymartin2894 twas but a joke dude 😂
Back in shit
I absolutely enjoy Megadeth! They RULE!!!
Haven’t even watched it yet but sent it to a buddy that said mr adler was just ok
Your friend likes to make understatements.
Ur friend apparently doesn’t know what a good drummer is then Adler is one of the best drummers of all time
Is he really your buddy then?
Yeah.
@@216trixie ive watched the full video and there isnt one clip in there where i thoight hes a world class drummer. Did they by any chance judt pick bad clips?
Thank you Loudwire my wish comes true
More like “10 Times Loudwire Proved They Have No Clue What Makes A Great Drummer.” Congratulations on making Rolling Stone look intelligent👍🏻
Nailed it 💩👍🏼
Chris Adler is an amazing drummer, take nothing away from that
I dont believe these clips showcase what a goddamn legend he is.
So effortless he plays these songs he will surely be missed as the drummer for lamb of god
Favorite Modern Metal Drummer! 🤘🏼🥁🦅🥁🤘🏼
So much about Adler clicked for me when I found out that one of his favorite drummers was Stewart Copeland. He plays a totally different genre but his instincts are super Copeland-esque; he has that same respect for the accent, that same awareness that so much of drumming is knowing how and where to land back on the groove.
Was really hoping to see Now You’ve Got Something To Die For in this
Been waiting for this video so fucking long
“Descending” defines groove metal drumming
10 times? No he is the best drummer, other drummers have such a hard time keeping up with him. Hes a beast on that double bass, and lamb of gods new drummer struggles so bad with his beats. Chris playes the drums like a piano, he's a freaking animal on them drums.
Watch Gene Hoglan become LoG’s next drummer.
would be the best replacement since he is the chris adler before chris adler especially with the "double slap" technique which adler uses most of the time.
Got to watch him play with Megadeth a few years ago and god damn that was bad ass
Indeed he is the best 🤘🤘
Yes, LOG will never be the same... I just wonder who he will hook up with now...He was magnificent on the Dystopia record with Megadeth....
Do Jimmy The Rev Sullivan next plz
Will Robbs they did years ago my guy
@@KlashingKiller I think that was 10 Unforgettable The Rev Moments, not 10 Times The Rev was the Greatest Drummer On Earth
@@KlashingKiller I can't find it
@@KlashingKiller that's only unforgettable moments. Not too 10 times he was the best drummer on earth
@@paradigmshiftz7 because he was never the best drummer on earth.
His drum fill is so unique.. 🔥
You should have included the fill in ,grace', just epic
wow, great sound quality
I know there's no footage of Chris doing something from Protest the Hero's Volition, but he did an amazing job there
That's my favorite protest the hero album just because the drums sound different. Too bad they are the reason hes put off from doing drums out of the blue for other bands now.
heel toe drum technique is the alternate picking of double bass drum.
They sound so fucking GOOD live!!!
He's still the best drummer in the world
Nope. Ken Bedene is...Or maybe Nils Fjellstrom.
@@Blindashitmetalasfuck I dont mean just because of his skills...also because he did a fantastic job with Lamb of God. There are many other drummers i also appreciate...like Gavin Harrison, Benny Greb, Morgan Rose, Jay Weinberg, Dan Searle, Eric Moore, Tony Royster Jr, etc...
God's Headbanger Jay Weinberg sucks
Lol, Tomas Haake says hi.
@@NewYorkMetalShows Yeah Tomas Haake is also a beast
Gonna miss this guy at LoG
That guy and his single rolls are just brutal
Adler is insane...he makes it look effortless which is extremely creepy. My face would be contorting into painful winces at half that intensity. 🙌
I have no complaints here. Just, watching this guy play is ALWAYS a good sight. Chris Adler and Joey Jordison are my favorites. Just saw the 9 in PHX 4 days ago and, saw LOG in May. Badass.
Hes not the most technical..but he has that feel/groove that really cant be matched.
Favorite drummer hands down!
He was my drum HERO he's my drum God!
hell fkn yeah!!!🥁🥁🥁
Showing Ruin without THAT fill?
Sacrilege!
Back when Johnny wasn't santa yet, haha good shit right there. I sure do wish Chris was still in LAMB. 🤘🥁🥁🤘
Class act right there! He's 99% of BTP/LOG. They're all great, of course, but they won't be the same without his style and clean ass playing. Hope to see him back ASAP!
My fav drummer
Beating on Deaths Door!!!
Great drummer 😢🤕 gonna miss him
Una técnica de pies tremenda, con una soltura de manos a la vez que está al alcance de ¿5? baterías más en todo el mundo. Es un maquinón, y lo voy a echar de menos un montón en LoG
Great drummer even though I never been a Lamb Of God fan.
It would be awsome if you do one for Mike Smith.
The Faded Line drum break down is my favorite Chris Adler part. Where is that?
The Mapex with the 20inch kick drums and smaller toms kit at 1:20 is far and away the best sounding kit I've ever heard him play, EVER!
You don't need huge deep drums to get the best sound for metal. Smaller kicks and toms with the correct head's and tuning can give you that low attack you want! Don't believe me, just listen 🥁
Damn. He is truly the best
I need this but with guitarists
Legend
Guilty
Desolation
Fadded line
Subtle arts
Blacken the cursed sun
And the list of drumming keeps going
Loudwire doesn’t know that that clip of Descending is clinic footage with the audio from the Sacrament Producer edition. And, that most of Adler’s fills are 2’s over 2’s (just really fast). I absolutely love Chris Adler, but Loudwire should have some musicians in their staff.
Chris and Dave Lombardo are my favourite drummers of all time. Sad they both left the band's what got them on the map now
1:27 more like the time when mark and will and saruman on bass did a great job!!
