I have been to many drum clinic cs over my time . You have a good list and I would like to add my favorite that I personally saw . Mr Bobby rock! What a monster !
1. Neil Peart because of all the different elements and dynamic structure of his solos. 2. Virgil Donati 3. Thomas Lang Portnoy, Carey, Jordison, Lombardo all excellent drummers. I give them more credit for what they perform "within" a song. As far as "solos" this particular episode, you have MY TOP 3!
@@bradchristy8429 EVH like Hendrix were innovators, they both changed the way kids approached there instrument, doesn’t make them “the greatest” but they have there place in history for bringing something new to the table
@@bradchristy8429 does it matter? You like Peart someone likes Bohnam both great drummers in their respective bands and who is better is completely suggestive
I’m 40 yo and I say Joey jordison is/was the best drummer ever. He brought that drum roll double pedal back to fruition in a time where rock/metal was diminishing
well said.. as a drummer back then i was looking for a new sound, i couldn't really play because i was in the Navy ...and i didn't particularly like slipknot.. honestly.. I still don't, but i will not deny myself the amazing contribution to music Joey and slipknot made. they kept us metalheads relevant.
I am sorry but no one played or plays like peart All the others sound so similar rapid fire fills double bass rolls it's difficult to tell them apart if you were not watching. But peart is power speed finess changing rythmn patterns tempo. And you can always tell when it is peart playing. And he makes it look so easy, that's what is so impressive the sign of a true master. He is one of a kind
I'll never forget the day I watched virgil donati live it was a small venue and everybody was so mesmerized when he dropped a bomb solo you could hear a pin drop everybody watched in dead silence including his band members billy sheehan and tony macalpine
everytime i see joey play it drive me to be a better drummer... i have pain.. bad back.. some wrist pain... enough to make me want to give up.... then i see him... knowing NOW he played in much worse conditions I ever did... G.O.A.T. not only was he good-... and did it with style... he hid his pain well...R.I.P. good sir.
Just came across this video, as a geezer might I suggest Ron Bushy and "In A Gadda Da Vida" as one of the first massive drum solos, sort of grabbed the traditional taking a ride from the jazz world into overdrive :-) Doesn't really matter, no matter who gets on a top ten list there's always someone others would pick, enjoyed the video all the same.
Travis barker to me will always be the goat. Yes the other ones were great but travis brings fundamentals and rudiments into everything he does. He just does it in a way that makes it sound like hes just messing around on the kit. His utilization of flam ands....6 stroke rolls...paradiddles on drums you wouldn't normally think to put them on is what I think makes his genius shine thru. Anyone can have chops if u work at it enough but to take the first year or two of drum lessons and turn it into what he does is pure magic
Danny Carey is on a different level. Joey Jordison was amazing to drum like he did in the pain he was in. Tomas Haake had to take months to learn how to play what he had written for "Bleed", and had to play barefoot with his toes taped together so he could use two pedals with one foot!
i wish to add Buddy Rich and Gene Krupa they invented the drum off.. and did it in 3 piece suits under lights that would make you spontaniously combust... OOO and "Animal" from the muppets... my personal GOAT
John Bonham "Moby Dick", c'est pour moi le meilleur. Le plus spectaculaire est le solo de Tommy Lee lors du live Girls, Girls, Girls Tour de Mötley Crüe.
That last one with Joey, it was after he left Slipknot, he was rehearsing his own material for his solo project, unfortunately we never got to hear the finished album. RIP JJ.
Why you didn't put Joey's actual solo from the show is beyond me. That was probably best solo of all time💯definitely top 5. He got down messing around in the studio on this one but disaster piece he killed it
Where is Caleb H Drumming... Dudes Under 10 Years Old and Can Play As Well As Any of These Drummers a d AGAIN Hes Like 9 10 years Old??? LOOK THIS Little Dude Up SERIOUSLY!!!! Hes INSANELY GOOD
i hate to be this guy but i only see a couple on here that would make it there all amazing but it's more than just hitting the skins fast and hard drums should have some rhythm at least but you nailed it on a few of them my guess is your a young lad though
RIP JOEY JORDISON ......MY FAVORITE ALL TIME
Definitely an argument to be made
00:10 Travis Barker
2:00 Shannon Larkin
4:10 Danny Carey
6:10 Eloy Casagrande
9:10 Thomas Lang
12:00 Neil Peart
15:35 Mike Portnoy
16:40 Dave Lombardo
18:40 Virgil Donati
22:20 Joey Jordison
Damn, Donati with the double strokes on the bass drum is amazing.
@@cheemooo a real expert
@@cheemooo virgil donati was the real one. Him, rich, gadd and weckl in one class. The others are just hard hitter thats all i can say😅
I thought as far as those ten SOLOS go, Larkin shouldn’t even be in there cuz it wasn’t a SOLO. Virgil Donati BY FAR was the best one . Hands down.
para drummer Luar biasa 👍❤👍
No doubt about it, Neil Peart was one of the greatest drummers in the world. And he was one of my favorite.
I have been to many drum clinic cs over my time .

Mr Bobby rock! What a monster !
These solos were like hypnotic relaxation tapes and by the end I was falling asleep in my chair . lol.
rip joey
Thomas ❤ inarrivabile. Un anno luce lontano da tutti gli altri
Neil Peart so melodic!! ❤
Mitch Mitchell, Aynsley Dunbar, Ginger Baker, John Bonham, Brian Downey, Keith Moon, Tommy Aldridge, Rod Morgenstein, Carl Palmer, Cozy Powell
George Kollis?
Ian Paice...
I think Virgil and Lang are my 1/2 in this video. Respect putting Joey at #1, RIP
1. Neil Peart because of all the different elements and dynamic structure of his solos.
2. Virgil Donati
3. Thomas Lang
Portnoy, Carey, Jordison, Lombardo all excellent drummers. I give them more credit for what they perform "within" a song.
As far as "solos" this particular episode, you have MY TOP 3!
Danny Carey is just a god. Its just a different realm of drumming. Now all of its good, but if you drum then you understand
Potnoy teknik Danny kuat💪Travis skil mereka semua kereen abiss🥁👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️
If I hadn't been busy glossing up my boy, I definitely would have said Danny
Eloy makes me think of Art Blakey in this solo! Dave Lombardo in a refreshing and very creative one! Neil Peart: what to say? He was so great!
Dave Lombardo.. double bass is always insane 🎉🎉🎉
Peart is the G.O.A.T. Rip professor. He made the drums sing. You are missed
That’s weird his favorite drummer was John Bohnam
@@basher5107And EVH’s favorite was Hendrix. Disciples typically surpass their inspirations.

Buddy Rich drum solo 1970 (he's wearing a white turtle neck ) unbelievable drum solo. The ending is insane

Let’s not forget the alien …. Virgil Donati… can’t understand how he’s overlooked … the guy is beyond the best.
never heard of seen shannon larkin but when i think of playng drums that is exactly it
He’s the drummer of Godsmack. Fire drummer and always beats the sh*t out of the drums like that haha
Wrathchild america
Without a doubt the Olympus of Drummers!!
I'll never forget the day I watched virgil donati live it was a small venue and everybody was so mesmerized when he dropped a bomb solo you could hear a pin drop everybody watched in dead silence including his band members billy sheehan and tony macalpine
Few players alive or dead that have reached Virgils level. To me Thomas is a close second
Nice to see Shannon Larkin getting some love.
What song is he playing?

thanks for this force of drumming.
what are you thinking about matt garstka?
Shannon Larkin’s drum battle with Sully should be on this list.
Danny Carey is on a different level. Joey Jordison was amazing to drum like he did in the pain he was in.

Lists like this help me understand why there are 100 different emoji faces. I made them all watching this.
Jimmy "the rev" Sullivan 🔥🔥
jojo mayer,dave weckl,kostas anastasaidis!
Christof Shneider from RAMMSTEIN - Weisses Fleish song live 👍👍👍👍👍
In case anybody wonders why drummers count Animal from “The Muppet Show” among their influences…
Joey, of course, has a short solo, but it's no less spectacular, and in general, everyone turned out cool.
Joey Jordison
Joey el dios de la bateria
i wish to add Buddy Rich and Gene Krupa they invented the drum off.. and did it in 3 piece suits under lights that would make you spontaniously combust...
OOO and "Animal" from the muppets... my personal GOAT
The right answer here I love Neil Donita it's even close
Donati to me is the best drummer to ever walk the Earth

Tommy cufletos KD ???? Melhor q muitos aí nessa lista !
Can't be real without Mike "The Beast" Terrana.
great sound is it starting jet?
What about Carmine Appice the originator of it all
Evangelist Roger Mansour former Leslie West Vagrants Drummer
Dave Lombardo and sugarfoot Moffat.
how the hell mario duplantier is not in there ...
I wish Derrick Plourde of Lagwagon and Bomer manzullo of RKL were here
Why not have the drum solos from Exit Stage Left , or Alll The Worlds a Stage.? Neil taught the world of drummers the double kick.
