I have decided why I love your tutorials more than most instructors. You aren’t afraid to ‘pull’ open the stitches so we can see the correct stitch to place the hook. For example, on round 3, the stitch after the FPDC is sort of hidden. Once you pulled open the stitches it makes it easy to see the correct placement and have the correct number of stitches per round. Thank you for making your tutorials so easy to understand.
A couple more things I love are that you take your time crocheting the individual stitches, like some videos still feel like people are trying to show how fast they can make a stitch, which is fine except for when like you mention here you’re trying to figure out where they are placing the stitch. And another thing I love that I’ve seen in other tutorials of hers is that she always says essentially you know do what you can, it doesn’t have to be perfect to be a nice crochet item
Not everyone knows how to teach, but Chystal has that special gift for teaching. I'm completely obsessed with making her beanies! I'm enjoying her tutorials so much! I'm on beanie number six. I'm working my way to making (gasp) one of her ponchos. She's so incredibly talented and so nice and friendly. So glad I found her on UA-cam! Thanks Chrystal! 😊❤️
Is there any way that I can use the Coffee Shop yarn to make this beanie? It is a 3 weught yarn. I would love to make some hats for my FedEx and Amazon drivers to show my appreciation to their hard work for me. Since they are all men, the cap can't look "girly". I have a good smount of Coffee Shop yarn but I need a hat pattern that I can use that 3 weight yarn. Do you have any suggestions, Crystal? Thank you so much for all you do!!
Thank you for this Crystal! I hope you don’t mind but I will be making this beanie for the ladies in need. I don’t go outside much in the winter, so have no need for beanies myself, but I make them for friends, family and for others, and most especially for the homeless and families who have had to relocate due to escaping from domestic abuse and are just restarting their lives with next to no money. I like to mix up the patterns as well as the colors so folks have a choice of something that appeals to them instead of everyone having the one same generic beanie and it keeps me from getting bored just repeating one pattern constantly. This is so beautiful and l think it will be a big hit. Thank you for sharing! ❤
Me too, I don't go out much since battling breast cancer twice. But the good Lord help me beat it. I make them for our homeless shelter, women and children and cancer patients. I adore Crystal and how she shares her hat tutorials.
Thank you, Crystal. Your tutorials are fantastic! You make a point of showing just where the stitches are and where to put our hooks. I’ve always avoided making knit hats because I always managed to lose stitches in the round and then just gave up. Your videos and explanations are clear. In addition, you go slowly and use close-ups to really show the stitches. You’re fabulous. Thank you for sharing your talent with all of us.
Great beanie tutorial. Counting is important after every row as I missed a stitch in rounds 5&6. This is the 5th beanie I have made from your tutorials. All fit perfectly.
I really like your tutorial, you really pull the stitches apart and tell us where to put our crochet hook, and really close up to, your a good teacher, thanks again ❤❤😊
Yay! You finally have a tutorial for this hat! I took one of your previous hats and started it similar to this one and then continued in the ribbing pattern for the rest of the hat. I have finished some with single crochet, some with half double crochet, or no finishing at all. Love the ribbing all the way down the hat.
As soon as I saw this beanie, I knew that I would be incorporating it into my selection of hats that I make and donate to my local hospital's nursery and NICU. Thanks again, Crystal, for yet another wonderful tutorial.
Watched twice and the second time I did the tutorial along with you until row 9, then I continued working on it after the tutorial. It is a great tutorial and an easy pattern to make. Thank you for all your hard work in making your tutorials 💜
This is indeed a beautiful pattern, but I realize I would have be mindful as I work through it, so I'll just listen and watch this time and then rewatch to do the actual pattern. Thank you for all you do to teach us unusual and unique techniques💕💕
Our church is preparing "care bags" for homeless men and women and crochet beanies are included. I plan to use all of my stash for this project so will be stitching these in 2024. Have crocheted for years but mostly flat work. Looking forward to doing something beneficial for some folks in need. Thanks Crystal. I watch your channel often.
I wear beanies all winter because we get a lot of snow and it's very cold here in Reno (in the Silver state!)hills. I will definitely be making this! Ty Crystal ❤❤❤
I have only been crocheting for about 9 months. It's mostly been amigurumi. I wanted to try to make this beanie, but at first glance the design looked soooo intimidating!! I gave it a try anyway. 👍Good news: Your video made this SO easy. I can't believe this was made essentially using only SC and DC!! This was my first "post" stitch too. Thank you! Thank you! THANK YOU! for making such an easy-to-follow video. ☝🤓(kinda) Bad news: I predict that my family is going to be absolutely sick of me. Everyone is getting this beanie. My mom, my brother,s friends, the mailman....even the dog is gonna get one if he can hold still long enough for me to estimate his head size. Thank you again. I am going to stalk your channel and find more things to crochet. You are MARVELOUS!!
Love this hat ,FP is my favorite stitch, 1 making it for my 13yr old grandson he loves crocheted things from me. When I go visit been teaching him to crochet. He's been having problems keeping his tension. Told him to keep practicing.
Hi Crystal. Love this tutorial! I glanced inside my yarn room and saw 2 different reds winking at me! Definitely going to be making this. It’s really beautiful. And your instruction is so clear. Thanks for another great tutorial!❤
Thank you Crystal for one of the easiest patterns I have ever seen. I make beanies, hats, scarfs and shawls to donate and this pattern will be utilized oh so often.
Crystal I’m on my second hat! I’m so proud of myself that I have actually made 1 and got halfway of the other one. My mom had to have a red hat exactly like this one. Thank you for being such a great teacher ❤🧶🧶🧶🧶🧶
I can’t believe it, I just made this on my own! Except I modified with a hole in the 8th row to become a pony tail beanie! I will post a picture on your Facebook page!!
This is super cute. I started it a few hours ago and am about 1/2 way done. I don't know what my problem was but for some reason I couldn't get row 3 to come out right. I frogged it 2 times. On the 3rd try finally got it. Row 2 was perfect so no need to frog row 1 or 2. After that little problem, the rest of the rows came out fine on the first go around. Sometimes stuff like this just happens to me. I hope to have it finished tomorrow. Thanks Crystal 💛👍
Just making this beautiful beanie to add it to my hats that I give to charity, it’s going to become a favourite, I looooove the crown and5he pattern is so quick to do, thanks Crystal ❤❤
I am doing this for my brother, grandpa and dad! I have another brother but he's in the military so I wont make his until he returns :) Ty for all that you do I learned so much about crocheting just by watching videos! :)))))
I really appreciate this tutorial, you made it so simple and doable, very excited to try making some in infant sizes for my church ministry. Thank you so much ❤
Crystal, I love the stitch on this hat. It came out so beautifully. It’s going to be my next project ❤. Thank you so much for your kindness and your tutorials🧶.
Absolutely love this hat just made one for my step son he absolutely loved it onto making the same for my 2 sons and twin daughters. Thankyou for the great tutorials. X
I think this Beanie is nice and simple. Love it.❤️ I'm gonna try this in a Varigated Yarn and see what happens with a busy yarn. Ya never know until you try it. Thanks, Crystal, for all your great tutorials.👍
You are super fast woman!!! I missed your live 😢but I watched the replay!!! Watch a few more small videos and here you are!!! Quick silver!😉 I will be making this!!! Amazing 🤩 job as always! 😊 Prayers 🙏 love 💕 and Hugs 🤗 P. S. Omgoodness 😮I went straight to comments and commented before I saw the title!!!! As soon as it popped on my phone I clicked Then I went to play and saw the name….a lil spooky 👻 here!!!! lol
I really appreciate how clearly you show stitch placement..makes these patterns much less daunting. I make hats and scarves to donate, and I’m always looking for new ideas. This one looks comfortable and warm. It would be great double stranded too. Just have to use a good hat sizing chart.
omg, i just almost finished (got to the SC at the end) this and then had to frog it. As I was going along I kept thinking to myself, "oh, this will look better once I add the border. Oops, no. 😫😂 I really like the look of this hat, but maybe it's not for me. It's comically large on my head. lol. I must have a small head. I have to figure out how to make this smaller for myself. I think I have to stop well before 72 stitches. I'll try again. 🥴 I love how quickly it works up and the tutorial is A+ (as always). I just wish that I didn't have a tiny head. haha.
Hi Crystal, wow! Your beanie is amazing!. Thankyou so much for your tutorial!. You explained everything perfectly. Awesome designed by the lovely Crystal! And awesome tutorial by her too!. What else can I say?. She is just awesome!. Love the beanie hat! Thanks again Crystal!, ..mandy uk 🇬🇧 xxx😊
Crystal, I have made so many of your projects and they all turned out beautifully. I made this hat using Scarfie yarn in blue/grey hues and it turned out gorgeous. Thank you so much for this pattern, I will be making more.😁
I just made this with a bulky 5 (Lion Brand: Unique) and I didn't need to do the last increase row. I was already at 6 1/4 at the end of row 5. This meant that my hat doesn't have ridges every other row, but that's ok! I like it, also the yarn is very pretty. I look forward to making it again with a 4 weight. 💗😊🤙
Turned out to big for me but I do crochet loose. Going to try with a 3 weight. Love the beanie and thanks Chrystal for the tutorial. So easy to follow.
Dear Crystal,🥀 I have the same yarn in a different color and I'm now starting to chrochet this beautiful beanie.🥰 Thanks for the sharing and greetings from germany.🙋♀️
Goofy holiday comment... I'm getting my crochet mojo on n the A Team theme music is in my head. Omen? Time for my crochet psych med. And mostly for me, she's easy to understand. Some of these folks don't speak good english and I can't understand.
Where do you find her pattern?
Very Beautiful Ms. Crystal ❤❤❤❤

I also make hats for the homeless every year. Love all the variety of hats Crystal has.

I'm really struggling with round 4! Have done it several times and I end up with a lot more stitches than 48. Any suggestions?
Can you include the pattern for printing? I would like to try it…
I love this Quicksilver beanie. I will be making this for all my 6 great grandchildren. Thank you so much, you are a great teacher.
Thank you so much!

I'm so frustrated. I keep coming up with 70 for row 6.
You always make the increase in post stitches so easy! Thank you Crystal. I love the new pattern.

Such a good, clear, easy beanie! So well explained and demonstrated! Thank you!
I really appreciate how clearly you show stitch placement..makes these patterns much less daunting. I make hats and scarves to donate, and I’m always looking for new ideas. This one looks comfortable and warm. It would be great double stranded too. Just have to use a good hat sizing chart.

I thought this would be too hard but I had to try. I’m doing it and it looks so great. Thank you so much!❤
Thank you Crystal I made one of these beanies before I went to bed last night. Cheers from Australia 😊😊😊love your sites.
