Thinking my Mom used to make this with some basic veggies in with it. Know for me to figure out how to make it vegetarian. 😊 Thank you for bringing back another memory!! ❤
You were lucky, consider yourself blessed. My mother didn't know how to make more than a handful of dishes and she usually burned everything. She also never cooked anything in a sauce, although she would make one to pour over top. I think because of that she used to tell me that "a woman loves a man who can cook" and pressed me to learn.
@@jimbrennan1181 LOL, sounds exactly like my mother's description of my Grandmother!! My mom taught me how to cook but never taught me about recipes, etc. and told me I wouldn't like Czech foods because I didn't like rye nor caraway! But learning she did sneak some in!! She was self taught and I as well. She taught me basics.
It's weird looking at my families immigration records, in the 1880s it says Austria, by the 1950s they said Rus Czecho-slovak, white, ruthenian. Different waves of family members. When they arrived in America, they worked in the coal mines, and lived in communities with people who were similar, and mairried within. The census records listing everyone around them was all slavic language speakers. There is a history in the food served by grandmothers, and great aunts, where it came from. It all tells a story.
Good to see you coming back making videos! I really enjoy your recipes and make them here and there. We had a really nice time in Czech this year and ate some of these dishes. My favorite Czech meal is the potato dumplings with ham or bacon and also sauerkraut and crispy onions! Thank you for sharing!
I'm so happy to see you cooking again and showing us your fabulous recipes. I have your cookbook and have been a long time viewer. Are you back in the US? Tell us your story.
I learned from my mom how to make this. She dropped baking powder dumplings in the boiling liquid and finished it with sour cream. Very comforting.
I’m making this today for my Slovak friend Jana’s birthday! Wish me luck!

This looks delicious and I'm going to try it tomorrow, thank you for sharing. Also, you have a wonderful accent.
Thank you 😊 I hope you enjoy it!
Interesting, quite a bit different from the way I was taught to make it. Looks good, and I'm sure it's a great result.
Thank you Kristyna; always good to see you make delicious food!

Thank you ☺️ Yes I have been back since February. I need to plan to do live video to share more. 😊
Yum! Will try the 1/2 & 1/2. My mom taught me to use sour cream & stew dumplings.
@@Abracadabra513in Hungary I tried it with sour cream, but I do prefer the half and half. 😊
Po shlédnutí jsem dostal na něj strašnou chuť. Jsem zapomel jak dlouho už jsem ho neměl.
Do I make the Noky after, during or before the Paprikash?
While the chicken cooks you can do Noky. Or after the whole meal is finished. And if the sauce isn’t hot enough you can warm it up.
@@czechcookbook Diky moc! Vyborne video!
