I haven't thought to try getting Deadly Reversal on Rama! Using Athena's special would activate that all the time. And Artemis attack and Heart Rend? Mwahahaa
When I did 32 heat for the first time I took off all of my clothes and started doing jumping jacks in my living room. My girlfriend had been cheering me on the whole run. You did 54 heat and said “crazy run, crazy run”
I feel like it's a little sad that a bunch of people who like the Lord of the Rings may not even know that the scouring of the shire is something that happened in the original books because it's so important for understanding Tolkien and how WWI influenced how he thought and how he then wrote the books.
I just watched the South Park episode right before this where Token reveals his name is actually Tolkien, and Stan mentioned how there were parallels between WW2 and LotR. Then I come watch this video and read this comment. I thought that was a really weird coincidence.
Incredible gameplay! Took a few mental notes to improve my own Rama play. That EM4 fight was tense to watch, can only imagine how tense it is playing it
Eru Ilúvatar is who sent Gandalf back to Middle Earth as the new White Wizard Saruman does die in the books, but not in the same way as the movies. After losing his seat at Isengard he traveled to the Shire and with Wormtongue as his lackey he subjugates it. When the Hobbits of the Fellowship return having defeated Sauron they fight a war to free their home. And at the end of it Grima stabs Saruman in the back killing him.
I liked the discussion Sir Christopher Lee had with Peter Jackson. Apparently the script originally called for him to scream when he got stabbed, but he knew better. It's apparently a soft gasp for air as the lungs collapse.
Technically, he slit his throat, but yeah, Saruman dies. It's also strongly implied that due to his horrid deeds, his souls was barred from returning to the shores of Valinor and just dissipates.
I sometimes use meg on lernie when i have 5 because I bought one or something. I usually just do the last phase, as soon as he's not invulnerable meg and I've never missed that way. It's just a one hit kill. Sometimes I'll decide to do it if my damage is shit or i have a bad chaos curse or something.
Oh man I love Celeste! I still need to go back and finish the DLC, I only made it partway through and haven't picked up the game again for a year or more.
what's the reasoning for lucky tooth over evergreen acorn? I always used acorn bc I figured max hard labor at high heat would ultimately hit me harder than 100 health but now I'm rethinking this
your logic is correct, but its moreso that theres so many little things happening as well that can proc the acorn when you would otherwise only take a small amount of damage. Ultimately its just a matter of what playstyle you’re using on hades; if you’re doing long range and the deadline isnt super low you can prioritize not getting hit by tiny stuff with the acorn
Honestly it feels a little bullshit to avoid. I had both Forced Overtime 2 and EM4 activated for my 32 heat tries and that's one of the few attacks I felt wasn't super fair. He's going straight for a pillar, is 1m away from it, you teleport out of the way at the last moment and he still has time to turn and avoid the damn pillar.
Don't think I'll be able to catch you on Twitch anytime soon so I'll ask here: In the video, you say it's a waste to use Meg on Lernie. Could you elaborate more on that, I'm trying to improve my gameplay?
It's often overkill in terms of the amount of damage mostly. Plus you'd have to sacrifice using a Meg somewhere else to do it and the other options are better. It's not a major point though so if you like it go ahead.
Check out nyx's mirror of talents again. Every talent has another mode! (Button on the left) The death defiance thing can either have 3 charges per escape attempts, or one DD per chamber
I'm surprised you would rather take forced overtime level 2 over a single point of routine inspection + calisthenics program. I guess those talents are really good for controlling RNG since you have very little choice for boons? To me forced overtime is just hell though haha
You just need to end the run with full health and you can't be using one of the regenerating weapons (either the hidden spear aspect, or any sword aspect with the cursed hammer prevent you from getting that title).
The fates really REALLY wanted you to have that Divine Flourish.
I haven't thought to try getting Deadly Reversal on Rama! Using Athena's special would activate that all the time. And Artemis attack and Heart Rend? Mwahahaa
Dan has gotten so good at this game that the only times he has to really focus and not speak is when he plays these absurds levels of heat
His name is Dan ? Never thought that
and only at the later stages too
tartarus and asphodel are one autopilot 😅
When I did 32 heat for the first time I took off all of my clothes and started doing jumping jacks in my living room. My girlfriend had been cheering me on the whole run. You did 54 heat and said “crazy run, crazy run”
😂😂😂😂
Gettting force fed Divine Flourish like 5 times in a row had me rollin
Having to deal with scraps for boons lol. So many things aligned for this run to happen, congrats!

Was looking for this comment!

I had no idea Flayed Defiance even existed, nice Chaos and a great run!

16:38 Dan looks directly into our souls.
Congratulations on the win Dan
6:13 that bronze skin saved you there lolll, 1 hp
Damn that was insane !
Even having reading the title I was stressing for you a solid couple of times (even in Tartarus)

I was in the middle of commenting what the hell does this have to do with the video. Then I heard Dan start talking…
@@DeadStoph lol you couldn't piece together that it was going to be a point of discussion? :D

I literally just cheered and woke my kid up! CONGRATS!

Damn, Athena REALLY wanted you to have her special
Congrats!!!! Now for 55 Heat! *screams in terror*
By golly! What’s next, 55?!
That assumption seems reasonable to me
Thanks for posting daily and making my day keep up the good work!
Also 54 heat is a very VERY hard challenge I'm very impressed so good job
Oh man I love Celeste! I still need to go back and finish the DLC, I only made it partway through and haven't picked up the game again for a year or more.
Gotta love how much og this run is just talking about LotR
4:43 Saruman abandoned being white to become Saruman the many colored.
*of all colors
@@gamehero6816 my copy says Saruman of many colours. Chapter the council of Elrond.

In this level of heat, you can lose DD easily in regular rooms. So it's only logical to have lucky tooth.
Sick stuff lately with the high heat
Congrats man. Really awesome.
...but to be perfectly honest, how did you do it while looking so tired? Are you sure you're ok?
ARE YOU OK, DAN?
Congratulations on 54 Heat!
Jeez, I’ve never seen EM3 Asterius charge with Max Forced Overtime, he go ZOOOOM 😂

29:24 we got gnomed
Celeste is a joy to 100%, would recommend
When was this one played? Surprised to see Eurydice giving you the low health speech.
Fire thumbnail on this one. 👌

ya saruman wanted the ring for himself and maybe even could've wielded it bc he had studied sauron for so long
I might be dumb because I've been subbed to Haelian for like 2 years now but, is he Canadian or is the Howie Mandell reference just that random?
Perfect clear in my book!
According to the pattern, 63 Heat in about 10-12 weeks, right?
How do the bets work?
Can someone please explain why paddy at chamber 34 is so good? :) tyia
The buff lasts for 15 chambers and the hope is to carry it to the Hades fight, so the later the better.
So how come he didn't get Titan's blood or Ambrosia? Does the game stop giving you those if you unlock everything?
You only get titan's blood or ambrosia up to 20 heat
How does he get death defiance so many times? I thought you only got like 2 or 3 of those.
Check out nyx's mirror of talents again. Every talent has another mode! (Button on the left)
The death defiance thing can either have 3 charges per escape attempts, or one DD per chamber
Unlimited death defiance? Is it cheat?
It's called Stubborn Defiance on the green side of the mirror: 1 defiance per chamber and only restores 30% health.
Hell yeah!
insane
damn son

You can get used to Forced Overtime 2, becomes mandatory well before 50 heat imo.
6:12 one pv :O
Hi, Twitch!
How come u have so many death defiance? Cheat?
Algorithm
Why does he keep pausing?
So that the in-game timer doesn't keep running. A necessity if you have a high Tight Deadline and still want to think about which door to pick.
Comment because I should
Doesn't "perfect clear" indicate a no-hit run? Because I've seen lots of hits.
he explains at the end, it's about having full health at the end
Game gave it to him, due to how much health he had in the end
Nope
You just need to end the run with full health and you can't be using one of the regenerating weapons (either the hidden spear aspect, or any sword aspect with the cursed hammer prevent you from getting that title).
Wow yhats crazy, and with such trash boons
