Japan seem to have always pushed Birdo as a trans character in a sense it's the American branch who can't seem to decide if they are male, trans or cis female. They seem to be avoiding mentioning it at all now.
Awesome to know that Birdo's vibrator was instrumental in freeing her back in Captain Rainbow. Maybe occasionally instead of shooting eggs and fireballs at you, Birdo should randomly shoot her vibrator at you too. LOL. However, dinosaurs and reptiles just have a cloaca no matter what gender they are so not sure how ... vibrators insert best into those. I'm sure it was confusing enough for Birdo's robot jailer to wrap its mind around. Then again... Birdo is a dream creature, originally, so she can have whatever she wants down there. After her "Heart of a woman, Heart of a man, both can know love's grace" song I like to think she's straight up futanari hermaphrodite. I mean, she's Japanese.

I thought it was like a seahorse situation. The male has the baby...thank you Jim Gaffigan...but Birdo shoots the eggs. I mean the Cowardly Lion had bows. So So Birdo took inspirational from that to wear a bow. I don't know. I just made all that up when I hit the comment button.
We had gender discussions during sleepovers about what gender Birdo was and I think we all arrived at the conclusion that it was a boy and dressed like a girl…and then we stopped caring about Birdo’s genitalia and played the game
One thing is Sex that is what you are born with (genitalia) gender refers to what you want to prefent yourself is what we call gender identity and if Birdo wants to present herself as a girl that makes her one, thank you so much for being respectful about it!
Wow, I never knew this! I like Birdo a lot more now. Although, it is kinda sick that her being trans is mostly used as a joke. I guess that was just a product of its time. I actually made a similar video awhile back about Links gender from The Legend of Zelda 🤔
I already knew the answer to this question but didn't want to be rude on your excited post on twitter, great video I somehow feel there's a japanese video ad out there from the promotion of "A" mario game that shows birdo (not a drawing more like a barney-eque uhh? costume?) with a manly voice presenting themselves as female
