@@AustinJenner Same here. I just bought mine about 2 months ago with 75k, really clean inside. I'm in Maryland so I'm hoping for some snow this year so I can test this machine out!! I'll be looking to do similar mods on mine. Hopefully I get a nice little rumble out of those 165 horses lol
If you don’t know if the timing belt has been changed, it should replaced every 100,000 miles and can destroy the engine if it goes out while driving. If in doubt get it changed!
You might be able to find it at subaru.com/parts and enter your make and model there but a lot of the older stuff is out of stock, ebay is another great option unless you meant the audio head unit or the gauges on top
With it being older they are prone to rust, specifically in the quarter panel area and underneath. I would check for any leaks in the engine area and for any check engine lights. The 2.2 liter engines are not as bad as the 2.5 so if it was kept up with, it shouldnt have anything wrong with it. Im about to hit 140k miles and I just redid almost all suspension components on the front end as everything was pretty worn. But the main things I would look for is rust, leaks, or any type of smells out of the ordinary like burning oil or coolant. Good luck and hopefully this helps!
@@AustinJenner thanks much appreciated! Barely any rust on the quarter panel over here. Only 65k miles for a 1999. I'll check for leaks and smells next. Seller wants $6k 🤷🏻♂️
Nice and not bad! I think theres only a few screws, two on the top to remove the cover and then there should be either 2 to 4 more on the inside and a plug to remove it from the dash. Hardest part is twisting it out past the steering wheel lol
On this car I didnt put it on so Im not sure. On previous cars though I noticed a little bit quicker throttle response and more engine noise but I never noticed a significant increase in power.
I have an 04 5sp same color, with wheels off a 13 WRX. Yours looks so much cooler than mine. Very nice 👌
Thank you! Im trying to keep it alive as long as possible, I just switched out my wheels for the winter and I think they are off an 07 WRX!

@@turo_no_bull Yes for sure, and I hope to get some snow as well. I wouldnt trade the boxer rumble for anything!

Let's go he's back
Wagon Mafia! Very tasteful and very nice. That's my favorite body Subaru, your mods are subtle and really go with the car.
Thank you I appreciate it! I love this car
That’s a clean whip!
Thanks yours too! Nice job on the swap!
Ayeeee I’m from Hagerstown Maryland!!! Not to far from West Virginia
Nice, maybe we’ve passed each other! My dad works in Maugansvile at the Mack plant lol. I live in Martinsburg so pretty close!
Clean Wagon!
Thank you, I’m trying to keep it alive as long as possible lol!
Clean man

You should make an rc car video
Would you know anywhere that I can find the center AC console

Thats funny. My Subi impreza sport makes the same raspy noise when i turn it on. I believe its the starter.
Glad I am not the only one! I would like to fix it before the winter but its done that since i bought it
Hi. I'm lining one of these up to buy! What should I look out for when inspecting it? Cheers

@@harvardh Wow that certainly sounds hard to pass up then, I dont regret buying this car one bit!
Just picked one of these cars up today - this was a good run down. Funnily enough, same bulbs are out in the dashboard - how hard was that to replace?

Awesome - just got it done and looks great! You were right about the wrestle past the steering wheel 😅
@@mathhits Nice glad I could help!

So you’re saying the cool air intake does nothing? It’s mainly for show? No noticeable increase in power?

What is that touchscreen called in your car?
Its from Pioneer and its the MVH-300EX
