So my experience during the confidence man quest went a little different I had Cait with me because I figured “Oh boy a fight! Cait likes fighting maybe she will like to see it” so when Travis and the bullies began I was ready to watch, but apparently Cait isn’t a fan of watching fight, because once Travis threw a punch Cait decided she needed to get involved with a shotgun. Next thing you know we’ve got 2 dead mercenaries in the bar
3:30 I actually was hoping for something like that, but when I did the quest, mid-sentence of his bargaining, Codsworth came in and chopped off his arm and killed him lol.
I did something similar, except we just stood there for a while (he wasn't talking to me and his name still remained hostile). Codsworth then just floated in and sliced him. I was thinking how it could be neat to talk to him after and it turns out I could.
I’m currently on a journey to clean out the debris in all interior buildings & try them out as Conquest settlements. If it’s too small, you can just delete a decorative/boarded door or a wall & build into empty space. It’s super fun & also super relaxing/therapeutic to clean out all the buildings (if they aren’t marked “cleared” you probably want to leave the containers tho so you can still get more loot there). My favorite place for a settlement so far is Kendall hospital, bc it’s like a 10 story maze. Any place with an elevator is pretty fun too but I don’t think the settlers can actually figure out how to use them.
Found one a long time ago, and recently redid it. Takes a bit of work though... If you don't go to far in the main story line, and do the Far Harbor DLC instead you can unlock unique dialogue within the Crater of Atom. Here's how it's done: progress in the main story line to a certain point just to level up and to unlock Nick as a companion. When you get to the proper level you'll automatically start the quest to get to Far Harbor. Go through the initial part of getting to Acadia and talking to DiMA and getting the quest to get his memories. At this point, dismiss Nick (he generally disapproves of what comes next), and go full zealot for the Children of Atom within the Nucleus by joining them and doing all of their quests. (You do not have to destroy the people of Far Harbor to unlock this dialogue) after you are far enough in (at least getting the Inquisitor's Cowl, Atom's Judgement and Radical Conversion) and then continue with the main story line and go to the Crater of Atom, Mother Isolde will question you as usual, but you can mention that you are a Child of Atom from Far Harbor's Nucleus (although she will be rather skeptical as to the truth of it) and you can continue finding Virgil without trouble. (Side note, I have never been wearing the Inquisitor's Cowl when interacting with her, so there could be something more there)
@@exp1ghost10 Well, that isn't very kosher. You simply join them, but don't do anything toward that end? How can you call yourself a Child of Atom if you do nothing to spread the truth?

In the quest "confidence man" I got that same unique dialogue due to a glitch. The brawl started as normal, but soon everyone started drawing guns and shooting each other. Then Strong decided to go ape and decapitated the two bullies with his super sledge. The game considered that a defeat, but it was so hilarious xD
In regards to the Mystery Meat quests, you get a hint of something is wrong at the meat plant early on when you can random encounter an NPC who is complaining of food poisoning and is explosively susceptible to diarrhoea.. he warns you about it... repeatedly. Then the meat plant shows up on your map
The NPC in question, I met in a ruined house standing around alone, just south of Drumlins Diner. There’s a power armor nearby in a railroad box car and also a pack of wild mongrels.
Funnily, losing to the bullies in Travis' quest make the second part of the mission making more sense; it would explain well why Vadim went to meet the bullies again; if would make sense he went to ask them why they didn't lose despite being paid. (well as far as I remember why Vadim vanished)
Took like a year and a half long break from fallout 4 (I used to binge this channel a lot back then) Decided to get back into it and decided to load up an old video, for old times sake….. You’re as beautiful as the day I lost you
This is probably well known by now but i just started playing again, i went into the gas station cave and found a fusion core, went into concord and to the church first and found you can climb to the roof and jump over onto the tail of the crashed vertibird and use the fusion core to take the power armor and go into the museum from the top. Thought it was pretty cool at the time.
I have 861 hours in this game and I swear I only knew about the Longneck fish packing plant dialogue. You did a magnificent job on this list man. Even though it’s a year old lol
One thing I think is important about the confidence man quest is that. If you continue to attack the bullies after the fight is over you can kill them with no consequences. This will also prevent you from having to go save Vadim from them later on.
Years later, but worthy of note. Confidence Man has another branching path to it. I'm not sure about other companions, but if you have Piper with you when the fight starts she will take part and actually shoot the thugs, which angers the bar owner.
I am very proud that I helped every settlement. I built every settlement up to 200+ defense, and Preston just stopped giving me radiants. There is no achievement for this, but I'm so happy I did it.
One thing they didn't plan for: On an evil playthrough I skipped Concord until after Nuka World. I'd taken every settlement for the raiders. I can't remember if it was before or after finishing Concord, but Preston acted betrayed by my siding with the raiders before I ever met him.
When you do the bar fight, make sure you aren't armed. I forgot to unequip Pickman's Blade once. It made for a short fight, but Vadim wasn't happy. Oh well, that's what earlier saves are for.
If you go to Goodneighbor before you rescue Nick Valentine, head to the Memory Den to get a new quest. You'll get to see Kellogg's invasion of Vault 111 again, but from outside your body. You'll even get to see yourself trapped in your cryo pod, banging on it, as Kellogg murders your spouse. Really cool quest.
When i restarted my game instead of the regular one my character said "oh what am i going back to the past or what". Kind spooked me. (When you meet preston
one of the dialogue options when meeting preston involves a joke about the minutemen, something along the lines of "What am I, travelling back in time now?"
When I encountered the Pillars of the community, I was respo ding to gun fire. The Auditorium was under attack from raiders and the "Brother" in charge was dead missing a leg. Now, the NPCs are stuck in an endless loop of being completely posetionless, but without leadership and no goal.😅
THANKS FOR THE VIDEOS NATE!!!!!! I love this game. With the fail of FO76, I recently started playing it again after uninstalling 76. I never realized how much I love this game.
Yeah for a while now every playthrough I play, I already have power armor by the time I get to Concord. Here's how the start of my several of my last playthroughs went; get dogmeat, clear out the mole rat den under Red Rocket, get the fusion core from the irradiated spot and also the MP-40 SMG from where the biggest mole rat is (mod), then go to up the hill, defeat the mole rats along the way, and the 2-3 raiders with the dog around the campfire, and the guy who comes to his own personal camping spot with his dog which is an event triggered either when you get close or when you go into the little lookout campsites with the ammo can and what not, then go to the robotics disposal place with the inactive Sentry robot where you can get yet another fusion core from the chest there (along with a mini-nuke, if you fancy), and THEN go to Concord albeit with a generally incomplete suit of power armor. I may have also quickly gone to Abernathy Farm to get Nora whom with the aid of a mod has survived the headshot (people have survived headshots from .44 Magnum before, to my knowledge, even though it's rare) and thus I can mix-and-match the power armor piece so that the armor with the vertibird has all the best pieces and Nora gets the armor I was wearing which has whatever pieces are left over, and away we go, the 'Sole Survivor,' his wife, both with power armor, and with Nate armed with a minigun. Badass. I can even have both Nora and Dogmeat as companions because of yet another mod. Speaking of power armor pieces, GREAT way to get easy caps. Get every damn piece of power armor you find, keep the completely broken 0-Weight pieces on you, and give any intact pieces to your companion wearing power armor. As their power armor breaks, take the spent parts with no weight and have them put on spare parts. From time to time once no more parts are intact for a certain section of power armor you CAN repair a broken piece, but just keep handing them fresh parts you find that are not completely broken. You can sell the extras that you don't need, and in time you'll have probably some raider or T-45 or T-51 parts which ONLY require steel to repair, that have been upgraded however you see fit, so that once there's no intact parts for a given section of power armor you can repair existing and already upgraded parts for them that doesn't use any valuable resources like aluminum or circuitry or whatever. And those upgraded parts can also be boosted up to level 5 or level 6 eventually so that when you do resort to repairing pieces for your companion, well at least the parts will last longer and when you repair them it'll only cost you some steel. Me, personally, I'm working on getting ONE spare piece for each part of the power armor in my inventory. Raider, T-45, T-51, T-60, and X-01, if I have all the names correct. T-60 seems to be the most common and I figure that's due to the Brotherhood, but yeah I have almost completely-upgraded X-01 armor for Nate, and even though I play ONLY on Survival difficulty and tend to have rather low-endurance characters (starting out, luck is the lowest stat at 1, but then by level 40-60 or so eventually I pump up the luck but endurance is left behind having gone from 2nd lowest stat to MOST lowest stat), I had survived a point-blank dead-on strike from a missile launcher. No doubt it helps that ALL the parts of my X-01 armor have explosive shielding, I think with each piece lowering damage from explosions by... what... 2%? So in total I suppose it's -12% damage from explosions, since back before I finally got into power armor the most common way to die in Survival difficulty was explosions. It's left me pretty shook... power armor is the only way to go with Survival difficulty unless you REALLY don't mind dying... a lot.
In the fight with Travis, if you kill the two guys a new story opens up. Friends of the brawlers kidnap the brother of the bartender as revenge for you killing them. You end up taking Travis to the place to save the brother and that gives him his confidence.
Half-Life: 3 Yes. Apparently, if you kill him you’ll find a synth chip. Saw it in a video Haven’t actually tried it. So is the singer at the Third Rail and the mayor of Diamond City.
Hey epicnate, that first bit you talked about with the meat is literally something they did in fallout 1. You find a meat merchant named iguana bob who uses human meat to sell ad iguana bites. He gets the meat from some crazy doctor. But you can blackmail him the same way for caps every few days.
The Sturges dialogue can be activated by just going up straight up to the power armor and mini gun, after getting it, jump down and re-enter the building. You can take off the armor ( as it has low power) then go up to them to talk to them for the first time. Grab the Core right before you want to go back and face the second wave outside. You dont have to walk to them with the armor.
Thank you for making good quality content during this time of controversy. Been having a hard time getting my fallout content fill just keep finding hate posts/videos. This is good quality entertainment! You are a great man Nate! 👍
It's always amazing to me that there's at least one or two things I learn about Bethesda games from these videos, especially Fallout 4. I've watched hundreds of hours of lore and location deep dives over on Oxhorn's channel, so I feel like there's nothing new to surprise me, and yet.
ANOTHER OPTION DURING THE QUEST WITH TRAVIS at DIAMOND CITY. Somehow, I was on both sides with the bar owner and Travis, I agreed to do it, then changed my mind. Then went back to warn Travis of the ambush. The confrontation had already begun, and I took the threatening and reasoning approach to protect Travis and fight the dudes myself. It ended up with me beating them up, the run off. Travis gets the attention of the girl still, but now the bar owner is kidnapped by the dudes he originally hired. So now Travis and I are going to go help bring bar owner back. It's Crazy the amount of ways a situation can go down
The feral goul meat in the canning place is a reference to a Fallout 1 quest where you find a doctor providing human meat to Iguana Bob who makes Iguana Bits out of it.
New people who never got around to it or couldn't afford it at full price are picking it up now. I think some people might pick it up again if 76 doesn't improve quickly enough. I've been expecting to see videos like this one come out around this time frame, even though it's so far after the release date. They are still fun to watch and it surprises me how often someone else still found out something I didn't know about the game.
The early power armor and mini gun thing is actually something I’ve done in most playthroughs after my first. The ranch near the red rocket has a quest that sends you to satellite station olivia, where you can get a mini gun from the raider leader, Ack-Ack. There is power armor next to the crashed vertibird just north of Olivia, and a fusion core in the chest of the robotics scrapyard just down the road from there. I usually just skirt around the north end of the lake, grab the fusion core, grab the power armor, take out Ack-Ack to grab her minigun, then head back to the red rocket to fix up the armor before going into town.
I know I'm months behind, but I love your videos. They're entertaining another informative. I can feel the passion for the series. I have one minor note. Nothing that really takes away from the overall cost of the video, but just something to take into account on your scripts. Murder already means killing. It's probably habitual, but "murder to death" is redundant. Again, I love and appreciate the effort you put into this. Thanks for the quality content!
I think I've done most of these! Love all the small details in these games! Like location specific stuff and interactions based on what you have and are wearing are small little details that keep you going back to try and discover more! Good stuff! 😎👍🏻
The other day I found a bank in the city. Was so cool. Two skeletons with 10 mm and gas masks on. Looks like they were robbing the bank as the bombs fell haha. There was evidence that they had shot about 4 people dead. The vault was still locked. I've been playing Fallout 4 for 5 years, but I still come across new things.
I actually found the first one on my first playthrough of the game. I took codsworth saying some people there had only hit him with sticks a few times there before he got away to mean raiders with melee/short range weapons and decided I wanted to be better equipped than a vault suit, 10mm pistol with less ammo than id like to admit and a baton and proceeded to avoid then forget about concord for the time being. By the time I wandered through concord on the way to loot the cryo gun from vault 111, I was already level 35 and had picked up a suit of nuka cola themed power armor from nukaworld and a minigun from the raider ack ack in listening post Olivia and was like "oh yeah. Huh this place seems pointlessly empty. Oh wait I guess I better save that dumbass up there with the crank up lazer gun before he hurts himself." Then proceeded to plow through all the raiders with a power fist

So my experience during the confidence man quest went a little different
I had Cait with me because I figured “Oh boy a fight!
Same thing happened to me and I was just dumbfounded 😂
Perfect timing, I haven't slept in 3 days, and now I feel better.
Yeah I just pop sleeping pills but ok

9:15 "Aww jeez Rick" lol Travis can sometimes remind me of Morty, from Rick and Morty.
(Side note, I have never been wearing the Inquisitor's Cowl when interacting with her, so there could be something more there)
All i did was get the mission to join the children of atom finnish that and the option popped up
@@exp1ghost10 Well, that isn't very kosher. You simply join them, but don't do anything toward that end? How can you call yourself a Child of Atom if you do nothing to spread the truth?
@@dragonson04 what truth? the lady is a scam. its even hinted at ingame. As there is a shack very close to the poison spring, where a female lives. And she has numerous stealthboys. hinting that she is just tricking you.

You two?
I spent so many months exploring fall out 4 I loved the story line but being able to build bunkers boost it off can not wait to return to this
yeah this game has so much play time. it's incredible how detailed and mysterious this game is
"You go get this 'young' girl Emogene." What do you mean young she's over 400 years old!
She could be Nate grand grand grand grand grandma
Sturgis “ there’s a power armor suit and mini gun upstairs if you want you can get it “
Sole survivor : “ AkTuLly”
If you have the nuka world dlc you can go through and complete that before taking to Preston. It will unlock some unique dialogue based around it.
Cool another Aiden
In regards to the Mystery Meat quests, you get a hint of something is wrong at the meat plant early on when you can random encounter an NPC who is complaining of food poisoning and is explosively susceptible to diarrhoea.. he warns you about it... repeatedly. Then the meat plant shows up on your map
Sadly I only got to hear that dialogue line once before I got a marker when the group got slaughtered by supermutants.
U also get some unique dialogue with sturges and preston if u just have a fusion core and not power armor
Took like a year and a half long break from fallout 4 (I used to binge this channel a lot back then)
Decided to get back into it and decided to load up an old video, for old times sake…..
I accidentally did that on one of my first play Throughs it was quite comical
Years later, but worthy of note. Confidence Man has another branching path to it. I'm not sure about other companions, but if you have Piper with you when the fight starts she will take part and actually shoot the thugs, which angers the bar owner.
I am very proud that I helped every settlement. I built every settlement up to 200+ defense, and Preston just stopped giving me radiants. There is no achievement for this, but I'm so happy I did it.
"Who needs Brother Thomas when you h ave Lord Todd?"
After Fallout 76, that line has a LOT more meaning.
Shut get off the fucking hate bandwagon
One thing they didn't plan for: On an evil playthrough I skipped Concord until after Nuka World. I'd taken every settlement for the raiders. I can't remember if it was before or after finishing Concord, but Preston acted betrayed by my siding with the raiders before I ever met him.

It’s interesting that the minuteman quest took into account for the armor, but the Brotherhood didn’t.

I had Strong. I don't know who threw a punch at an overarmed Supermutant. But I can only assume they left behind a suicide note.
Sturges doesn't see your giant minigun before asking?... Fallout logic.
DA_ BOSS the fact that you can even carry a minigun in the first place is a bit of a stretch
Well, he is a synth.
wait Sturges is a synth?
If you want accurate Fallout lore than watch "Shoddy cast". Oxhorn gets lore wrong.
I've been on a real fallout 4 binge lately and I thank you for these videos. They give me content to look for in the game😊

I usually just skirt around the north end of the lake, grab the fusion core, grab the power armor, take out Ack-Ack to grab her minigun, then head back to the red rocket to fix up the armor before going into town.
the ability to control the sentry bot in the scrapyard and get 2 free fusion cores by telling it to blow itself up is so fun to me
I know I'm months behind, but I love your videos.

Hey Nate, will you ever do a video on fallout 4 mods?
