This weapon definitely got its buff in Jungle Inferno since back then, everybody went Pyro so the Sun-on-a-Stick was a good option but even with all this, it’s still not a good melee weapon since you can still be killed in pretty much the same time from a Pyro wherever or not you have the Sun-on-a-Stick equipped. The only time where this weapon is useful is when you’re on fire and are trying to find a health pack before you burn to death.
I think to give this weapon the buff it deserves is to make it so you’re immune to the effects of afterburn while active but to make it more balanced it should get a slower deploy and holster speed just so the Pyro still has a chance to kill you even when you’re about to pull it out.
"burning and trying to get to a health pack" yeah that happens way too often for me.
This is a great idea. Wish valve could change this weapon
And it's gonna be like the Spy-cicle: I'm playing classic combo Pyro, set them on fire, they extinguish themselves and then complain about me WM1-ing them to death...

Tbh I love that it still can random crit. Because it is so fun to use when you get random crits. FUCKING DONT ADD NO RANDOM CRITS TO THIS WEAPON ITS THE BEST WITH RANDOM CRITS
Give it afterburn immunity and make the damage penalty only apply to nonburning players
Afterburn immunity would be WAY overkill. The damage reduction is plenty reasonable.

The *25% fire damage resistance* is pretty nice.
There's still better options tho
It’s over hated but it’s still very situational. Overall, I think it’s still better than stock, the candy cane, and the sandman.

Usefull when there are a lot of pyro's on your team, since you can just crit all your enemies that are on fire.
I always thought it would be neat if the scout had a Molotov Cocktail as a throwing weapon to go with this. Light it, toss it, and then beat the flaming enemy team with your melee.
If you change the stats with the sharpened volcano fragment, you get two good weapons

I’ve grown to like this weapon. It has saved me from burning to death many times, it doesn’t require much to sacrifice, and it can make fighting pyros (a very popular class) up close safer. It’s not really the joke weapon it used to be.
Sun on a stick: (how i would rework it)
100% critical hit vs burning players
On hit: Lights enemies on fire.
(First strike will do normal damage and burn them, second strike and after will crit)
25% damage bonus
20% slower swing speed
15% slower deploy time
15% slower holster time
No random critical hits
(Fire damage resistance removed)
You can shit on the sun as much as you want but man I love this thing so much I bought a killstreak version of it and prefer it over the stock bat.
I mean, it's pretty nice not to die of that one random scorch shot projectile whose explosion radius you were just unlucky enough to be in.
(Also Vovlo y no strange version)

Make the fire resistance like 35-45 percent, and this will be better. And before anyone says that the Mad milk exists, I don't want to trade my pistol for it.

Because it says 25% resistance to fire while *deployed*, it showed that it only works when you deploy it even if you equipped it. The scout died first (middle one) because they timed it bad basically

I think a good way to buff it is not touch at all, but rather...
Change the C.A.P.P.E.R! I know it's a reskin of stock, but if you added like a 10% damage penalty, afterburn, and no ammo pool, it would be an indirect buff to the Sun-on-a-Stick!

Sun on a stick should do no damage on the first swing but should light the opponent on fire then the next swing should be 100 damage Crit

Whenever a new update is supposedly coming, you can sometimes find unlisted/privated videos on the official TF2 youtube channel. Sometimes the privated videos would accidentally leak a picture of the thumbnail for a new taunt demonstration (like in Jungle Inferno).
Basically, the new weapon demonstration videos are making me hyped for (hopefully) a new update soon and I'm hoping there will be hints, clues or leaks towards it.

It should at least deal fire damage on the first hit to ignite the players for the second and third deadly hits at least. It would make it a ton more useful and the afterburn damage can be made very low so that the weapon doesn’t become obnoxious.

Suggested stats
100% critical hit chance against burning players obviously
35% fire immunity
Full After burn immunity
25% damage penalty
Too op, Medic with kritzkrieg and scout with the sun on the stick in these stats would cause that all pyros will backup so sentry or heavy to do their job against this combo. Unless the pyro is comp player with phlog or backburner.
So TF2 I am your biggest fan but I got some ideas for your game so you can get some more love you game

Idk, they are re-doing alot of new demonstrations even for weapons who werent changed during jungle inferno
Because you now take less damage from fire when you are holding it.
I got a little idea for this Bad boy
(First hit Ignites the enemy on fire for 3 seconds)
(Cooldown on the ignition is 8 seconds each enemy)
Its basically get close and rampage through all of them 1 by 1 till you die

Why do all the ugly looking weapons like the Wrap Assassin are good, but the coolest looking weapons like this one are trash?
It’s not horrible, as long as you have a Pyro or another class on that can set people on fire on your team, or on the enemy team, it may be useful.

Unless you team up with a Pyro, which is unlikely, this weapon is utterly useless

This weapon is so weak, it is one of the few weapons that can deal both random and situational crits
