The quality of this video is incredible, for a first time scripted video you’ve knocked it out of the park
Thanks! It's only gonna get better from here!
I'm going to just leave a reply with no purpose to it to ruin the satisfaction of the reply chain.
Edit: Well, I guess if the purpose is for it to ruin the satisfaction of the reply chain, I guess it HAS a purpose.
You know what? Nevermind.
Agreed
@@TheStudioArchitect what are you yapping about
i agree!
I've gotta say, as someone who uses the Soda Popper regularly I highly enjoy the way it feels.
Plus, y'know,
It's a sawed off shotgun, that alone is an upside-
I AGREE WITH THIS. LIKE MY GOD USING SAWED OFF SHOTGUN SHOTGUNS FEEL AMAZING.
sawed offs are awesome
Every shotgun in the game is sawed off
I think one of the reasons its not used as much is it got changed drastically. It used to give mini crits on hype build up. And you gained build up by just running around. This was also a time when the sandman ball stunned, backburner had no airblast, and overall the game was different.
For sure, the minicrit version was incredibly powerful. I'm not surprised that people underestimate the extra jumps in comparison.
whaat?? backburner used to have no airblast? never knew that cuz im kinda new to the game
@@SirCat07 so they gave it airblast but kept 100% crits. good one valve
ACKSHULLY the Backburner was given the ability to airblast in the Hatless Update of April 2011, several months before the Soda Popper was added to the game.
@@objectionablycurious the 2008-2011 backburner was a pretty bad weapon before it got airblast, since that was before jungle inferno pyro had no reliability his main dps since flame particles were wack, but it was also before the scorch shot and detonator existed meaning other than the powerjack (2010) it was really unreliable to get in backline for those crits which could possibly not even proc since hitboxes and lag exists.

"You can use hype so spies cant trickstab you!"
Hit-registry: are you sure about that?
I constantly use the soda popper I've always used it over the scattergun, BECAUSE, I suck at hitting shots so basically I do the force-of-nature signature, "shoot 2 shots then run away" but with faster reload.
You should use the force-a-nature, because it's pretty much MEANT to be a hit-and-run weapon, it deals really good damage at close range, making it better for ambushes, and the knockback makes it harder for the enemies to catch you and easier for you to escape or reload, and don't forget the FaN jumps that you can do
Dang bro, for a youtuber who has 35 subscribers.. this is incredibly underrated.. Please make more video essays, i love them!
When I realized this video wasn’t made by an already stablished UA-camr my mind was blown, the quality is crazy, you are underrated af
What an awesome opening video! I enjoyed the editing, and the writing itself was very enjoyable.
Also a nice bonus: the soda popper is the best weapon for scout in mvm. If you know how to do the glitch to make it shoot faster, then its a great tank shredder and you can even get really high damage if you're good enough. As a veteran soda popper player, this video makes me proud :)
To add on to this: If you dislike using glitches, the Shortstop outdamages a glitchless Soda Popper, so that's the alternative for you. Both are adequate for MvM.
atleast we don't have to worry about the glitch being patched out :,(
I'll agree with the rest of the comments. For a first video, you know what you're doing and that's a great start.
With a bit more editing polish and slight increase in delivery/script speed, you'll definitely attract more people! Subscribed.
Edit: I would like to present my opinion on the Soda Popper and say that its true use is more as a movement utility rather than a frontline damage dealer. If paired with the Mad Milk/Bonk and Fan-o-War, you get a very good team-oriented supportive subclass of a speed demon, helpful enough to distract the enemy into their demise.
I'll be working on my delivery in the voice over department for sure. Thanks for sticking around!
My favourite thing about soda popper is that when you activate your boost and change weapon to baseball bat you have secret tf2 weapon i like to call "THE PINK DILDO".
Someone: Force a nature is the god!
Me with Festivized Xmas Skin Soda Popper: *Are we a joke to you?*
OH MY GOD FINALLY, i am genuinely happy that someone actually made a video about the soda popper as its always been my favorite, also nice video man! specially for someones first video! gonna sub
This item is also like really painfully good sometimes in MGE. If you are on a map like Snakewater of viaduct, you can just corner peek, use two quick shots, and hide again. Great vid man, made me wanna use the soda popper again for once lol
I agree
What about the force a nature? The knockback could help with running away
getting major Decino vibes from everything about this channel and video lol love it. good luck on your youtube endeavor mate
for a first time video, really well done! Looking forward to seeing more in the future.
As much as this is a great video, i see the soda popper used regularly and held in rather high regard by most scout mains.
This was a great watch. Very professional and you know exactly what you're talking about. I look forward to seeing your future TF2 analyses.
this video gave me a whole new perspective of the soda popper previously i thought it was just a fancy jump tool but now i see it can at times be better than stock when the situation calls
This is a great video! I hope to see more content from you in the future, particularly about the scout's playstyle and loadouts! I've always been a fan of the scout, just never really got too much into TF2
great video! i love this concept and the video is surprisingly well structured and paced. Ill admit, stock outshines the soda popper in pick rate, but i see it surprisingly often in my games. love the video, cant wait for the next!
Really impressive video. Glad this popped up on my feed.
This is genuinely higher quality than a lot of more popular youtubers, you've earned a sub. keep it up!
An amazing good quality and awesome edited video, keep it up i enjoyed it fully. Can`t wait to see another video of yours!
great job man, you're good at this, hope to see more from you
I love the clip of the spy giving up at 3:30. Very nice video, I had no idea how good the Soda Popper actually is
The editing is really nice! Cool vid
Thanks so much!
Great start to your youtube career, keep it up!
You got me so excited for a backscatter vid
the editing quality is very good ! i might have to start using the soda popper now
the most underused scout primary is the back scatter
Nicely done, enjoyed the content!
Well made video, couldn't have guessed it was a first scripted video while watching so props on that.
The fact this is your first video surprised me, the editing and scripting is amazing, take my sub
Bro I was genuinely convinced this was a HUGE tf2 channel until I went and looked for other videos on your channel. Damn dude. Great vid.
About a minute in and you've earned yourself a subscriber. Keep up the good work! Especially if that means taking your time to iron things out and not stress yourself. I know burn out can be awful, so I want to compliment and encourage without pushing you to feel like you owe us another video right away.
I thought this was some big channel, but less than 300 subscribers?
You deserve a lot more and it's only gonna get better!
Your content is awesome!
Keep doing this great work and you're going really far!
nice video, covered most of my thoughts on the soda popper
i think the skill cannon nature of the soda popper definitely turns a lot of people off using it
i think the fact that its banned in most comp leagues says a lot about its potential power
I clicked on your channel because I wanted to see more of your content, I can't believe this is your first video it's so well done!
I personally love the soda popper and prefer it over the stock scatter gun for one reason, consistency in reloads. I fire 2 shots and then I reload, I don't have to worry about managing my reloads with the 6 shot stock clip.
Can't wait to see another videos, great job :D
the video and the weapon, honestly incredible clean,
Hello, got your video randomly reccomended. The video is insainly high quality, especcialy for your first time trying this style out. Also, I used to use soda poper with crit a cola and I must say, it was a fun combo since it was a very high risk high reward playstyle. Hope to see more from you
while the editing is nothing fancy, is an incredible first video, have a sub
Amazing video bro!!
Nice video, calm and detailed.
This video is great! It inspired me to pick up the soda popper and now its my favorite scout primary
the scattergun being so forgiving while still so powerful really is the reason it's so popular. the shortstop is not especially popular for the same reason, it's a dramatically more punishing weapon but much like the soda popper, it can actually output damage faster even at close range if you're landing your shots, while also having dramatically boosted mid range capability, making it an incredible all rounder in the right hands. it just takes a lot of practice to land consistent shots with the small spread, and your performance can end up feeling a lot less consistent because of the skill curve. i'm very much a shortstop main and always will be but you've convinced me to pick up a strange soda popper, so good job. very enjoyable video
was gonna make some dumb-ass correction and then you covered my points at 7:30, I should watch the whole video before I get out my keyboard lol, great vid man.
The shortstop is also underrated. Solid vid :). Thankw for covering this gem.
Great video man, came up in my recommended and really glad I clicked on it, I genuinely have no constructive criticism and will definitely be trying out the popper again, you made it look really fun :)
The quality in this video is amazing!
Great video man, makes me want to play TF2 again for a little while, just to experience what you're talking about. Keep it up!
Your scripting and editing skills are incredible! Really good pacing. Great job!
Nice 👍 A promising start, keep it up!
This extremely well put together and edited for being your first scripted video. I wouldn't've believed it if you hadn't said it. Great video!
I may also be slightly biased since I am one of those "Chad Soda Popper Enthusiasts" you mentioned. I also use the Guillotine and Wrap Assassin with it. :P
Excellent video, you’ve won my subscription
finally some soda popper appreciation. Since the day the soda popper got into my inventory it never left my loadout, and became my favorite weapon in tf2, this weapon rocks and I don't think it will be replaced anytime soon. I also find it respectable that you also like the wrap assassin so that's cool
nice video! I hope to see more videos like this in the future!
Keep on keeping on great video!
Waiting for your other videos bro, good job!
hold on, this is your first video ?!? Subscribed!
keep up the great work !!
also yeah soda popper clears scattergun
My aim’s getting better tbh… Might give this a whirl! I always somewhat knew that the soda popper could offer a very new play style for scout by leaning even more into being a burst damage class, but the two-shot play style always struck me as a bit too hit ‘n run. Its got such a fun visual design compared to stock though (stock weapons always seem to just fall under the visual aesthetic of ‘gray and dusty’), and it feels nearly as nice to shoot with as stock as well. Awesome video dude too! :)
Great debut video
One of my favorite ''subclasses'' to play is Sky Scout. Basically you utilize the bunch of jumps the hype mode gives you with the jump height boost that the wingman provides and with the 3 jumps that the atomizer provides, basically making you fly. You can play as an assasin with this, falling on single targets heads and absolutely demolishing them with the damage boost that the hype mode allows you to take.
3:40
This.
That's why, in MVM, there is a class called a DPS Scout, which is very good for assisting in widdling down giants and distracting them from other teammates, but also marking them for death for minicrit damage. the Soda Popper removes the need to upgrade rate of fire as the Soda Popper is already at max possible rate of fire
Looking forward to seeing more of your content!
Video rating thing lol (this might become a series or something)
Video quality: as I can see the video does a good job at not only having crisp graphics but also being very fun to watch, the background videos make this much less boring and more nice to watch.
Voicing/explanation: the voice over quality is very good and the explanation itself is also amazing, honestly this video is a perfect mix between education and fun.
Conclusion: the video is great, fun, educational, and not bad really at all!
Video rating: 10/10!!!
I'll summarize this whole thing with this. By the time the Soda Popper is reloading, the Scattergun already made it's 3rd shot, and that 3rd shot is what kills most classes even in medium range. The Scattergun kills faster than the Soda Popper. That's why it's meta, and why everyone uses it.
The Soda Popper is only a good alternative against soldiers who rely on shooting on surfaces, so with the hype jumping you can make a hard-counter to them. But that's about it, in most situations you'll need that 3rd shot, and if you're good enough, you won't need the hype ability.
What Valve should have done with the old Soda Popper was to keep it's mini-crits but reduce pellet count, the damage was what's ridiculous about it and why it got nerfed to what it is now.
The quality of this video is outstanding, keep it up dude.
I've been using the soda popper for a while and I find it a fun alternative to stock, yeah its not as consistent but the play style it encourages is a nice break from regular scout. Also, being able to deal massive amounts of burst damage before your enemy has even reacted is very fun.
Nice work man, I'll defo try the sofa popper more often. Never thought it was bad, I just haven't tried it out much.
I was never a Soda player because:
1- When it had minicrits it was op and I didn't used it out of spite
2- When it lost that I was playing the buffed Baby Face's Blaster, the much more fun metered scattergun.
First public video, almost no subs, talking about one of my favorite games AND has the name of my favorite fruit?
Instant sub.
I look forward to seeing more. But don't forget to take care of yourself too.
another reason I like to use the soda popper that you didnt mention is that compared to the force a nature, the soda popper will not make your enemies fly away after a close up meatshot, after your first shot with the soda popper you dont have to re aim because they will still be in the same area
Great first scripted video. Editing is clean and you actually have good points. Biggest criticisms I could make is that there weren't clips visually demonstrating your points all the time, and you could have broken down the specific DPS and damage thresholds compared to stock. Despite those flaws, including the section with the synergies was a good choice, and your points were well spoken. Looking forward to the next video.
I've used soda popper since 2017. It's my favorite weapon for scout in the game. Im glad its gotten this good recognition it deserves.
as a soda popper user i consider the gun to be built for taking out high value targets like medics and snipers, with a quicker kill on unsuspecting opponents and additional options to flee once you've been called out. i prefer the playstyle to stock but i don't think its a direct upgrade by any means. if anything, its just better at doing what the backscatter is supposed to do. I also think you understate the power of the pistol for this weapon a little bit, as they are a nice option to continue putting out damage even when you're on the retreat. good video, love to see soda popper content!
the lack of mentioning of the peekaboo strat versus heavy is a shame.
I really enjoyed the video and was surprised to see that it's your first one. By the high quality of it, I would have guessed you've been making tf2 videos for a while. But I'm always confused whenever I hear people say that the soda popper is underused when I always see at least one scout use it in every match I play
Interesting... I wonder if it's a regional thing? Here in Australia I see it very rarely
I LOVE the soda popper. Part of why I love scout is how easily I can fake a retreat in order to catch people off guard, and Hype gives so many options for faking out opponents.
My favorite scout moment was on Borneo, I tricked a heavy-medic combo by jumping off that bridge outside BLU second spawn, getting the heavy to chase me, just to activate Hype and jump back up to kill his stranded medic. SO fun.
Great video! One other thing that I feel is important to mention is that (i think) the soda popper is not allowed in many competitive settings, so scouts that want to practice for competitive have little reason to use it.
THIS IS YOUR FIRST VIDEO??? omg it’s already so high quality.
only recommendation is watch out for audio quality. it was fine here but can always be improved.
The birth of another good tf2 youtuber? :o very nice
I switch between using the Soda Popper and Scattergun every now and then and I've noticed that both weapons actually change the way you move due to the nature of how scouts aim while moving. It all has to do with a 'rhythm' and you want to maximize the amount of hits you land. Scattergun puts a lot of pressure on opponents with a continuous string of unpredictability/movement where Soda Popper is sort of "ebb-and-flow" as it primarily focuses on burst-fire and you wanna maximize the amount of damage you deal from from those 2 shots so you want to further predict your opponent's movement as well as adjusting your own movement as you fire.
3:29 I love how the Spy just GIVES UP.
Game was rigged from the start.
1:47 It's a double barrel so it doesn't even have a mag, it has 2 chambers
Nice video bro, keep the quality going
Plus, Sodie Pop Gang for the win.
forgot to mention the no knockback (force a nature)
great video! I usually play popper + critacola + wrap assassin
"Soldier is forced to stop relying on his greatest tool: splash damage"
Me who plays with the direct hit: You underestimate my power
BACKSCATTER SCOUTS RISE UP!
This video honestly needs more views.
It has the fire rate of the force a nature, the reload speed of the old panic attack (which means if you screw up and miss both shots it's not as big of a deal like it is with the FAN), and by the time you fill the hype meter you're like "wow this thing is so good I forgot that even existed" before right clicking and boosting your way to the moon.
The back scatter
soda poppers hype meter: making ground an option
this is such a good video on the soda popper
I am a soda popper E N T H U S I A S T, I love this thing, it pairs perfectly with the pistols because despite it having a fast reload time it's still nice to have a backup, and the hype works great as both an offensive weapon and a getaway tool. looking forward to seeing more of your videos in the future!
11:30 I was agonizing over the fact that you hadn't hit a single cleaver until this moment.
The thing I really like about the soda popper is that it forces you to have good movement.
Man, you don't know how much I love this weapon. For the first 50-60 hours I've spent on scout I used only this weapon, and eventually I managed to get close to its full potential. Now I only use stock and I am a better scout, but I can't use the soda popper as before anymore. Had to use the scattergun because, as good as the soda popper is, having only two shots can be very limiting. But I want to return to it, and be even better with it than before.
great first video gotta love supporting aussie brethren
