Just found your channel. Love it so far. I've been doing Xactimate estimates for 20 years now and still always looking for new tricks. Macros are the key. And line item memorization which comes in time.

Do you edit component pricing for tandem axle dump trailer? The components show .04WK trailer usage, and 1.99 demolition laborer hours. I have been editing the component costs to show estimated trailer usage for x amount of days/5 day week, and to show 4+ labor hours to load trailer on truck, unload at worksite, load trailer after work is completed, drive to dump, dump the trailer, drive back to trailer storage & unload/lock-up there. There has to be a better way but the only things I'm able to edit are component costs for dump trailer, landfill charge per ton, and demolition laborer labor overhead.
Thanks for commenting! I would look at using labor hours with an F9 note instead of adjusting the components of the tandem axle trailer. I would think that line item would just be used for when the trailer is hauled to the dump and back to the jobsite. The cost to load the trailer would be DMO LAB or the appropriate line item (which usually includes disposing discarded material in a waste receptacle).
@@EstimateMastery Thanks for the response! Is there another line item you know of for the time/days the trailer sits at the jobsite? Basically if it was being rented, I would have to pay for each day/week of the rental. Maybe a bid item with an attached invoice?
So my customers will usually email me a PDF eagle view because they already pay for that. Can you load a eagle view another way? Also this usually means I have to manually type everything out performing supplements and I would love to find a faster way.
So, when I wrote supplements for roofing contractors, they always sent me the PDF copy of the EagleView so I always hand entered the quantities and it took a few extra minutes. Unfortunately, you have to order the EV through Xactimate in order to have it import at the moment.
Have you tried XactScope for populating items on roofs and exteriors?
We haven't, have you had success with it?

How do you change the estimate window layout ; the Grouping, Quick Entry, and Search windows???
f you click on the top screen you can change the window from Items to components, supporting events, etc. When your adding a line item you can search by picture or by the particular item such as roof vent. Then clicking on the vent needed.
Where do I download the list of acronyms?
If you run a quick Google search for "Category and Selector codes list for Xactimate" there is a nice pdf that comes up.
