I had two 1800 tandem dumps with 6V53DDs. I put the frame mounted mufflers they used on the Fleetstar 2000 They had a nice hum to them after.

If that was originally from NH, I bet it was a Pike Industries truck. Asphalt paving company est 1872. The interior blue would have been the company color during the year of the truck.

It's a very nice truck to start out with and make it better. Love the Jakes and the exhaust also. Another great video can't wait to see the next one!

Man, I'd buy that thing in a heartbeat! I love that old style of International Loadstsr, but I couldn't afford that and the cost to haul it to me lol

Dude, once again - thank you. This old girl is just too good to part-out. Shipping it to the UK for me to restore ain’t an option, so hopefully someone more local will take her on and let her shine again 🙂 You mentioned the 6-71 Brockway. Oh hell yeah. Time for another Brockway thrash video 😁 Stay classy, brother 🤟🏼

Jake’s are cool on that truck.
    I’d love to have it.
$7500 is a decent price for what it is especially in this day and age. Just my opinion

A 10 speed overdrive or a baby 13 would be great for that truck, the new owner could just leave the 2 speed rear in high and not think about it any more. Good luck with the sale, in my area that would be kind of steep at $7,500 but I’m not saying you’re asking too much at all. different areas have very different pricing and if somebody is willing to pay $7,500 then she’s worth it. I will say that 6v53 with Jakes easily adds $1,500 to the value if not more, a set of working 53a Jakes is getting VERY rare.

I'd get 5k for the jakes themselves all day long. Really trying not to take it apart.

Its definitely fixable. The e9x chassis cars are easy to work on and the parts are becoming quite cheap. I'd fix it all day

I'd do a manual swap since they weren't available as three pedal cars it would be cool, plus all the deletes and that thing would be sick. I remember when they first came out I was working at cap cities in glenmont and drove one for the first time. Even stock, the torque is amazing, the only thing that bummed me out was no manual trans. They really move out with the deletes and a tune. I've owned 8 BMW's that I built so maybe I'm a little partial on the subject though.

A guy starting him a small yard maintenance business an had say a small skid steer, a tilt trailer, yada yada, would be set. I won't drive a 53 series or 71 series without a jake. It just makes shifting so much easier. I really liked the thirteen speed behind these although a little overkill on this truck. I don't really know much about other transmissions like the nine speed and ten speed, what the rpm range was ... three hundred or five hundred rpms. I just enjoyed the closer ratio for them. I drove when twin sticks were still the only thing going. I had driven a old fifty series six v fifty three with sticks, no jake, and air seemed to be just too much to ask for out of this outfit. I was barely twenty then... seventy three now, but anyway I bought the truck off them and was going solo to make a living. My brownie was so worn out that It was tied into direct to hold it and trying to make it work, so poor that five cent rides on a carnival was a chance for me to walk around wishing and saying ain't that cheap. A friend of a friend said for me to come over with my rig first day possible and I told him is tomorrow too soon? He laughed and said yeah, tell your wife that you will be here for a couple days. So I did figuring to work on it and get some more bugs worked out like engine mounts and what not. I got there and he had a thirteen speed on his shop floor. He threw me some coveralls and told me he would be right back and to start without him. I hollered where is that brownie an he just said start so I did. He came back with a pile of sandwiches on a plate and some tea. I drank coffee but didn't offend his offer. we got all the drive shafts and stuff out as I was having one heck of a time being green to this type of work. Not green on mechanics general, just not with what we had. I neve questioned him when he started pulling floor boards an stuff but really didn't see it coming. Long and short we were done on the third day with driveshafts to the engine complete and new boards in the floor even. I got in the passenger seat and he showed me how to shift a thirteen speed. I don't know if you can imagine how happy I was. The cost of it..... help him butcher five cows. I went home and grabbed my wife and she did the packaging while we did the rest. I had a new friend as well. Although really old he was at the time, I never found anyone with stronger work ethics. Thats kinda how I started back in seventy two or three. Where that transmission came out of I don't know but it was so smooth and tight... I ran the wheels off that old truck. It was a seventy kw but it was a kit truck with the oldest working parts I've ever ran into since. The Hendrickson walking beams are another story.LOL

Just my opinion, straight piping your car is the best way to ruin a car. Why turn your car into an obnoxious rat? Most straight pipe cars sound look he garbage. Obnoxious load does not mean it's fast! You can be fast without being obnoxious. Again, just my opinion.
