Obviously, he didn't quite think this through.
20:27 *kill bill sirens*
"Pool bar" has become the primary goal of my life now...an olympic style high dive..then straight to being fed shrimps one at a time. Thats the life...
I looked at my phone, saw this week's Back Issues thumbnail, and out loud in the middle of my workplace said, "Ooooh, nooooooooo..."
20:27 the moment Ben realized this story was about Spider-Man's Aunt & Uncle
"one time i got kidnapped in the dominican republic" ... I want a Back Issues about that Sal!
The infamous "Trouble". I'm pretty sure whenever this book came up before, Sal has only ever said it would never be on the show...so you know we're in for quite a ride.
“Let Linkara do that for you” 🤣
Wise words mister :-)
When Sal said Marville had iron man and black panther talk about race i Immediately thought oh this is where the thing where Iron man says the N-Word and black panther basically says “that’s not cool bro” in as uncaring as the wordage implies
Also I hope we get a tangent about that time Sal got kidnapped in the Dominican Republic cause I don’t want that to be something that’s never brought up and never explaind
Oh no 🤦🏻♂️
Or that time Kitty Pryde says it to Stevie Hunter in God Loves Man Kills. Maybe not the same but as a black dude it was still uncomfortable. I guess that was the point tho.
@@captainvimes6079 Thats not the only time she said it. Kitty Pryde in the 80's did not give a fuck. She said N-word two other times.
ComiXProvider FTW_02 Tbf, Kitty Pryde said that towards a guy who was calling her a Mutie. Yeah, it’s a fictional slur and it’s not AT ALL the same as an actual slur, but in-universe it makes sense as to why she would use that word towards someone nonchalantly calling her a slur. Like, it’s still very YIKES, but... I kinda get what they were going for.
Chandler Burse literally Tony is about to say something really bad about black people and then instead of saying that’s untrue T’Challa says “don’t use that word, it would make you look bad”
20:12 I love the realization there😊
The wink
Is perfect at 30:34 sal
All the little hints Sal throws out to hint towards what it really is keep sending me, best one yet is when he says Ben isn't "Spectacular." Lol
Oh boy, when the covers are revealed.
Immediate gold
Remember when Peter was from a simple house in Queens with his aunt and uncle? Now even before he’s born, his aunt is his mother, his dad and aunt/mother were spies for Shield and knew Wolverine and he also has a sister that is actually his half sister instead. The Parkers family tree is looking more like tumble weed at this point.
Ben was SO close to figuring it out at 20:30 😂
I can already tell from the thumbnail this is gonna be a fun episode
Wasn’t marville an attempt to win a bet specifically that it would do better then captain Marvell (it didn’t)
Honestly I half want you to look at it but I fear I would be charged with attempting to incite violence
I feel like that's an excuse Marvel gave after everyone asked what the hell was going on
@@owendean907 that bet was the whole reason marville existed. Bill hemas made a bet with Captain Marvel writer Peter David over which book would do better . It was called u-decide
@@mttylerdurden9 there was also Ron Zimmerman with his Ultimate adventures series that was in on the bet. Ultimate adventures had a bunch of delays though, and yet despite those delays it still sold better then Marville.
GOD BLESS YOU FOR THIS. Havent even watched yet but I've got 3hrs left of my overnight shift, nothing is new on youtube and bam you drop this. This will absolutely kill an hour so thank you for the solid timing yet again.
Listen to Ethan grunt at 10:54 as he grabs the book. He's like, "Aw, Sal, don't make me do this."
Sal's wink halfway through killed me! LMAO
Yooo that Linkara one-liner had me dying 😂😂😂
What was the timestamp for that?
Damn, first of all, Gwen Stacy and Norman Osborn once had an affair in Sins Past, and now this
Peter Parkers life is a mess.
I though Trouble came out first.
They always act like characters arent allowed to get pissed off about anything, if this happened to me I would uppercut the entire earth
30:30 best Sal wink ever
I was talking to my brother about which film series did aspects of Spider-Man best, and we were discussing Rosemary Harris as Aunt May.
I decided to look her up and found out she has a daughter named Jennifer...who looks like her mom BUT WITH RED HAIR.
My immediate thought was “oh Aunt May as a young red he-NO NOT AGAIN!!!!”
I literally guffawed at the revelation. There are so many shades of wrong with it
5:30 the best answer to any question on Back Issues.
I was warned about this (it was put in like the same camp as Sins Past and One More Day) but I assumed it was gonna be a romance story starring Peter... but then you said the names of the characters and then I was like "...oh no..."
Shout out to the comicpop discord, I love this community!!
55:18 The moment he drops the name of the baby, you can see the Curb Your Enthusiasm theme playing in their heads.
How to know it's a good day? ComicPop posts a Back Issues.
The reaction to the cover on Ethan and Ben its priceless
I watched this episode just so I could see Ben and Ethan's reactions to that final reveal. It's so good xD
