- In this episode we initially install LED indicators or turn signals or blinkers and fail. Trying LED flashers, load resistors etc. Then successfully install Micro Oxford 26w Halogen Cats Eye indicators. They look great and work well. Stoked
Nice, I had the same problem fitting flush mount car wing indicator LEDs to my ZZR1100 fairing , I went through every relay and option , in the end my mate suggested I mount another set in my dash for idiot lights and that was enough draw in the end to fire the original relay. Looking good mate.
Yeah it understandably needs a particular draw and i couldnt find a combo to get it. Im not sure ill mess with LED again just doest seem worth the hassle when the halogens are so small! Cheers
I'm surprised you had an issue with the LEDs.
I've fitted LEDs to mine and all I did was add the resistors in parallel.
I was too. I wasnt expecting to have so many issues. Oh well im happy with the out come!
That would have been a frustrating few days. Who knew LEDs would do that to you. And then even if they did work there’d possible be more work to come under the speedo, sheesh. The halogens are a good save and a good look. Love your work.

Cleaned up the forks perfectly. Oh man I feel for you , chasing electrical down is crap and great to see that you posted fails as well as wins when doing any custom work on a bike , it helps others who want to give it a go in their own garages .
Third gear is great for parts , I’m doing some very minor custom work on my bike and I’ll think I’ll do the same as you and give the LEDs a miss and get a set of mini halogens . Looking forward to next video 👍🏼

Yup and chuck in family, full time work and adulting and it was unfortunately a week later but i put the mirrors on which im happy about! Lol i think i invented new words as our english language was struggling to articulate my frustration!!! 😂🤣
Ah man, I felt your pain - for the Marauder I replaced the relay that was prepped for leds without having to use resistors - I got them working all right - but I know the nightmare of indicators. I spend a good while messing around with them to know what a pain they can be. The end result looks great though. Not always things go to plan and then its time for plan B - great video as always :)
Haha there is probably more to learn from a failure!! This was trying my patience for sure! But am happy with how it came out it came out!

I have an xvs 1100 and I do a roo run every morning on my way to work (im at work a couple hours before the sun rises) so I am going to use my bar off the front that is for the stock blinkers to mount a light bar soon im hoping this video will give me some sort of idea on how to mount my blinkers somewhere else lol

Hi mate, I’m in the uk, I am doing exactly what you did here, same exact bike same age I’m sure I even noticed you have the same cheapo wire strippers, awful ain’t they?
Anyway I have just put new led indicators on , running too fast, so I am now ordering a relay which they say will fix it, I know it works sometimes, it didn’t with you did it? So tell me how did you get past this and which type of lights should I get to leave wiring as original if the relay doesn’t work!!?? Thanks from uk

Yeah im not disapointed with the halogen though i like them and they are nice and bright! Cheers he is looking pretty slimmed down at the front now!
I’m having some troubles with my signals I used Arrow - Shorty - Black - Amber Lens - I don’t believe they are led but I’m getting hyper flash what would you recommend to fix that issue wire in a led flasher relay is all the information I’ve seen if greatly appreciate any help or feed back ! Thanks
Mate they can be halogen and still hyper flash or play up, if say the originals were 21w and you've bought 5w or the likes. I would personally wire in resistors rather than a led flasher
I tried to do the same on my vn900. Found out the reason why they didn't work was simply because the stock flashing indicator light is a single light for both left and right. Is this the same with yours? The fix is to put a link between the indecators in the headlight. Like what you're doing though. Classic Octane did a vid about it and sell's them on his website.
Yeah thats it or apparently it can be done on under the binaacle but i was over them and wanted to be done with them. Cheers mate!
