I love black beans
Yes! We use them in chili, taco soup, refried beans, Mexican casserole, so many ways. Do you have a suggestion on another dish? 💜
I enjoyed seeing how you filled your jars. Mine siphoned so I am troubleshooting that to figure out what went wrong. So glad you joined us, I've enjoyed your videos.
Thank you, I’m loving yours. You are so bubbly and interesting to watch. I had one spaghetti sauce that siphoned quite a bit. I actually was able to video it. I’m gonna do a short or something with like a top 5 reasons for siphoning
@@louisianacookingandliving great idea! Love it! Thank you for your kindness. When I was a kid my mom put me in Toast Masters which was a public speaking club. Though my instructor would not be happy with some of my habits, it helped me so much!
@@KowalskiMountain wow, that’s awesome. It has really paid off. I have such a hard time with speaking. My family can’t even be around when I film or edit.
I completely understand! Admittedly I didn’t appreciate my Toast Masters participation at the time 😂. But I certainly do now, it has served me well. Momma knew best!
I just put out a shirt this morning about siphoning, you should check it out. 💜
Enjoyed you video, where did you get your recipe? And I’m in north central Louisiana glad to see someone else from here.
I followed the instructions from Becky @acrehomestead. She didn’t add the onions, garlic or bacon. I wanted to add those because any time I would cook beans, I would put that in there. Seasonings May change, but those flavors would not.
This is so helpful to get started canning beans. Thanks so much.
It is a super easy process, just a lot of waiting times. Hope you fill your pantry shelves with all of the goodies. 💜
THIS IS AWESOME. IVE BEEN LOOKING FOR A VIDEO FOR CANNING DRIED BEANS. THANK YOU.
So glad I can be helpful 💜
Those look like they'll be so tasty with the onion and garlic and bacon! I might have to try this even though I always do no soak with my beans.
I have put them in when fry canning also. I feel like the pressure canning really forces those flavors into the beans.
Thank you love these videos!!
Thanks so much for watching. This collaboration has me on a roll. I’m gonna continue to can and share with everyone what I’m doing. 💜
You CAN store jars with the lids on. From NCHFP: READ THE LAST SENTENCE
STORING CANNED FOODS
If lids are tightly vacuum sealed on cooled jars, remove ring bands, wash the lid and jar to remove food residue without disturbing the sealed lid; then rinse and dry jars. There may be food or syrup residues you might not notice with your eye. These residues can support the growth of molds (which are airborne) outside the jar during storage. Wash and dry ring bands to protect them from corrosion for future use; be sure to protect from moisture where they are kept. It is recommended that jars be stored without ring bands to keep them dry as well as to allow for easier detection of any broken vacuum seals. However, if you choose to re-apply the ring bands, make sure all surfaces are clean and thoroughly dry first.
While you can store with the rings on, it is not recommended. When I gift canned items, I give them with the ring on. Your kitchen, your rules. Happy canning! 💜
You should not stack your canned jars on top of each other. Write what is in the jars and month and year. Good video. I just subscribed
Thank you so much for subscribing. I really appreciate it. You are completely correct about not stacking the jars. I only did if for the end of the video. My pantry shelves are custom built so that they are just tall enough for quart jars to fit on the shelves to maximize space. 💜
