I love that you take the whole job to the end, showing the finished product.
Me too!
Oh my goodness...white vinegar in the rinse receptacle is brilliant! Im sure you know by now but for everyone reading these comments it is important to follow the Presto 23qt Canner instructions for water in the canner. That amount is 3 quarts, maybe a "little" extra for 90+ minute canning. For new canners that dont know about her "jiggler" on the steam valve, it is not the one that comes with your canner. The one she uses in the video is far better than the one that comes with your canner. It allows you to "listen to the jiggle" rather than be glued to looking at the gauge. Plus using the jiggler enables you to never have your pressure gauge tested for proper function. Using the juggler will enable you to never use the gauge again and gives you so much freedom to do other things in your kitchen while you are processing in the canner. Doent mean that you never look at the jiggler or the canner it just means you will memorize the sound and the "hula" that your juggler makes.
You are such a blessing. I tend to watch and then do it myself as I watch again. Yours is the most comprehensive instruction I have ever seen.
Great video. Can't wait to try no soaking. Just a quick note though. The owner's manual for your Presto doesn't say three inches of water. It says 3 quarts.
I really love how step by step this video is. I keep coming back to it. Thank you.
May I make a safety suggestion. The black plug on the lid is an emergency valve. Please turn pot so that black plug is in the back. If it blows out, you could be severely harmed.
@DeadSeaSquirrel mine is in the back, I just made sure to TURN THE PRESSURE GAUGE around!
Thank you for that safety tip! I didn't know. Will be fixing that.❤

Thanks for that safety tip!!!
Wow. I did not know. Has this ever been documented yo happen? One time? Ever?
I used a permanent marker to draw a line on the inside of my canner so I don’t have to measure the water every time. Every little bit of time saved helps!😉
The inside of the canner has marks built in for different water levels.
@@adryawebb2556 Not every canner has the marks😯
Great video. Reminded me of my Grandmother. She loved to can the summer harvest for her huge family. There were a lot of us around
Totally informative! Thank you for giving ALL the information needed for a beginner to feel safe in trying this!
Excellent video! I just got my first pressure canner for Christmas and this will be the first recipe I try. Very clear and concise instructions. Great job.
I bought my pressure canner yesterday (finally!!). Only had a water bath canner. Your video was very helpful ... thank you!!!
Reminded me of my house growing up.
My mom and nana were always canning.
I got to pick the veggies. I hated the string beans the most.
Thanks for sharing I enjoyed it.
Great step by step video.I love your channel !!!! I also love all the channels you mentioned. You all do a great job teaching!!!!! The beans turned out beautiful!!!!
I love the way you took us step by step .most helpful with me being a newbee.
Thankyou again
I'm a newbie as well and I agree she did a nice step by step
Excellent video. I agree jars of home canning is beautiful
Thank you for the detailed explanation of how you can your beans. Being able to watch what happens and what should happen is so helpful for someone with no experience.
I LOVE this! Thank you for showing it! I know it's not recommended but it is a great time saver and I think you showed how to be diligent to prevent accidents. Thank you! Great video.
Thank you!
WOW, great video! I plan on making some beans so I'll be using your video. Thank you so much for sharing with us 😊❤
I have two Prestos. I like them because they are not too heavy for old ladies like me. Have done well for me over the years. First time I watched one of your videos. Nicely done. I use the Amish book a lot.
This is the best video I have found for canning dry beans. Thank you!!!!
Watching again today as I do pinto beans. You are a life saver. Literally. Teaching me to can my own safe for me to eat foods. God bless ya. Carol
Explicit instructions, great presentation ! Thank you !!
Great job Tangie!
There's just something about the "Ping" lol. It must be the weekend for canning. I put up two cases of tomatoes into tomato sauce, and tomato ginger preserves. Mmmmmm.
Love your tutorial! About 6 months ago I ran a load of beans and also had two that did not seal. Putting them in the refrigerator wasn't an option so put them in clean jars with carefully cleaned rims, new lids and clean rings. I also filled and processed
Quart jars of filtered water for the emergency shelf (why run an almost empty canner?). I Processed the batch for the full 75 min. And let the pot sit until there were no indications of pressure. All of the jars sealed just fine. Curiosity got the better of me so I opened a jar of the double processed navy beans. They were not quite as firm as the no soak method jars --but they weren't mushy.
I have switched to the no soak method. It is soooo much faster!
Great video Tangi. Very informative.
its nice that you went from explain every detail from washing jars to pantry well done ,I just ordered canner today so hopefully I will be hearing that pop very soon
Love your instructions thank you so much! I love canning!
Thanks for the book suggestions. I’m new here and I love your way. I’m a well seasoned canner yet I’m learning new things with each video. I’m going to use this method today to can up 4 pounds of kidney beans. It’s not a huge undertaking it I’m excited none the less.
Love your video! I'm completely new to pressure canning and have been afraid to really commit. I love the way you show each step.... even the steps other people might say was self explanatory! You made me feel comfortable enough to try. Thank you!
I am so glad! Thank you for saying that ❤️
Showing what the pressure canner does was so helpful for this visual girl! Thank you!
Finally, someone else has the exact same dishwasher that I have, lol. I love the Sani Rinse cycle on it.
Great video, thank you for all the great instructions. My husband and I’m new to canning. Our canning arrived today!!!
Woohoo!
This video is so helpful it clear alot of my concerns. Thank you🌻
Wait for the ping !!! I love it. I will be canning beans soon, I have been terribly afraid of them, but I can do it now. Ty. Doesn't it make you feel good when you can,it does me.
Absolutely!
Awesome and I DO love hearing that cute POP!!!! Great job. :)
Thank you so much for showing how to do your canner.
I love canning my beans like this. Great instructional video
Thank you!
Clear. Awesome. Thank you
Thank you so much for teaching us
I have the Amish canning book, lots of wonderful recipes. Great video, very informative thank you.
Love this video. Learned so much ... thank you!!
Great instructions and video. Love your sense of humor too. 😂
Thank you
I came here for the pressure canning since I just got my first one yesterday, but I love the added tip about using vinegar in place of the store bought rinse agent!
Please don't believe everything you see in videos! This lady is trustworthy but don't ever trust anyone who tells you to put a mason jar into the oven!! Lots and lots of new canners have believed people that bake bread and cakes in canning jars in the oven and then they turn it upside down to force a seal. I have been getting a lot of those videos and just pass right by!! :-). Welcome to canning. :-)
My kitchen my rules
I just posted a video on canning dry beans yesterday. I lt was my first canning video. I used a par cook method. I will try this next time bc i noticed your water isnt below the beans. Hopefully it will work for me! Thank you.
Excellent video!!
I have the Amish canning cookbook and I love it!
Thanku for your clear instructions!
Great education, thanks.
Great video Tangi!!! Love the fiesta beans, can't wait to try them! :)
I use old cardboard to put my jars on when they come out of the canner. It is especially nice when I'm doing meat. The cardboard absorbs any mess and then can be tossed. Usually they end up in the garden under mulch.
Fantastic idea. Thank you
Good idea! I like using dog pee pads. Nice and big and disposable for same reasons. However cardboard can be acquired for free, from many places :-)
Great video. We have only done water bath canning. But just recently purchased the Nesco electric pressure CANNURE and cooker(saw it first on Texas Boys) We have canned potatoes, carrots and beans. NOW I've got to try it this way. Look so much easier. The canner you are using is one I want to buy when I get my nerve up to use one. Thanks again.
great video!
Excellent, Thank You!
Love this video!!
I really enjoyed your tutorial. Thank you 😊
How awesome!
Thank you for this video...I am going to can beans very soon. Thank you 😊 🙏
I wish you could have seen my eyes pop out when you put the uncooked beans into the jar. People keep telling me pressure canning is easy and I have been too afraid to try it with meat and soup, etc. BUT your video was so clear, I can't wait to try it. I did not know you did not have to cook the beans first. Do you make uncooked soup in the jars also? This is so fun. This could be my new hobby. Thanks.
Heartiness Approach yes I do soup from raw veg. I think I do more canning in winter and heat house at same time lol.
Stews are super simple to can raw. I’ll be filming venison stew tomorrow, as well as canning venison.
@@freedomhomesteadky I will be watching.
Heartiness Approach Rhenda, the first time I canned beans this way I was a nervous wreck. I was new to canning and felt very unsure of myself. After I got over the anxiety of it, I was so proud of myself.
I’m still nervous to try meat, but when it gets closer to St. Pats, I plan on starting with corned beef.
Dry beans yes, I’ve been doing that for years. Also raw meat, super easy. I’ve got both my canner going right now. Love the products I make and they do taste better than store bought.
Beautiful!
I have canned beans 4 times already using this exact method and it works great. Phil likes Adobo in his beans but I haven’t seen a recipe to can Adobo so I do the beans plain and he seasons when heating. I’ll have to ask him if he would like that Fiesta Ranch seasoning, I watched Leisas video on it. She’s a great canner, that’s how I got into canning.
I just bought it this past weekend. Expect delivery in 2 weeks.
It’s also very light in weight for a good sized pressure cooker. I alway wet the gasket. It’s after that the heavy American with the screw down handles.
Great instructions!
Glad you think so!
Great video. Thank you.
step by step this video is great
You really did a great teaching video. Your pintos that you showed at the end of the video had a more than 1 inch headspace. I mention this because mine did the same thing, and I was worried that might not keep them safe.
Thank you for this tutorial! I’ve canned beans, but I’ve always soaked them first. Looking at the level of liquid in the jars, it doesn’t look like you got those three too full. I think maybe you didn’t tighten them down enough. You mentioned that you shouldn’t tighten them down too tight because they will loosen, but I think they actually tighten down when they vacuum down.
Made Leisa's fiesta ranch pintos - they are so good!!
Strawberry jam on the schedule for tomorrow. My 9year old granddaughter will be with me, and she LOVES kitchen play with her grammy🥰👨🏼🍳. I’ve been binge watching you, Tangi, and can’t seem to get enough. Blessings, my new friend... Jo
Thank you, Jo!
Amazing
thank u
I always learn so much from you!
Found you by your kombucha tutorial!
Thank you!
I am wanting to do more canning and winter got here yesterday, so I thought about starting with beans. Your video popped up and I gave it a look. Just saw that you are from Kentucky, as am I, so I subbed, belled and pounded that like button. Looking forward to other videos.
We are so glad you did! ❤️
@@freedomhomesteadky Also going to purchase a new dehydrator next week - month - year and do more of that. Merry Christmas
Grate video I also like Linda's videos your both awesome
Thank you for mentioning the FREE USDA guide! FYI: no need to sanitize jars that are pressure canned it water bath over 10 min 😉
I have the same Presto canner on order, did yours come with 2 racks? I love that you showed the close up of the Guage and "jiggler" action. First time I've seen a canning video do that. I just subscribed! Looking forward to new canning videos!
I just started my first batch of sauerkraut and the pickled pantry is sitting here right next to me :) Also love those girls you mentioned!
I have never seen a pressure canner that you can stack! So envious. Lol
Great video. Needed confirmation for canning dry beans. (A real time saver!) You should have mentioned the most beautiful music in the world to a canner, listening to the sound of the popping lids. ;-)
Cracked jars...light cracks.. can be used for dried product storage. I use mine for dried herbs or dried fruits or dehydrated foods.
(SORRY PHONE CAPS LOCKED)GREAT STEP BY STEP CANNING VIDEO TANGI..LET EVERYONE KNOW THEY DON'T NEED TO MOVE THE CANNER OFF THE BURNER IF YOU HAVE A GAS STOVE..
I enjoyed your video. I've done lots of canning but can always learn. I usually check my jars after taking them out of the canner within a couple of hours. If I noticed they didn't seal (checking to see if the middle went down) I place them in the frig. I don't allow them to sit 18 hours. I guess I'm a little afraid of getting ill from spoilage.
That’s a good tip :)
A good trick I always use is a big floor fan. When I turn the heat down and the pressure gauge goes up to much I just ran towards the pot, starts going down to much, i turn it away. How to can with an old stove :)
I follow all the channels you mentioned, but never found you before! I’m subscribing. Your instructions are very clear. Please tell me, why does the USDA not approve of canning uncooked beans?
Great video 👍 I couldn't find the books in your Amazon store
Katzcradul and Bexar Prepper are good too. Not a whole lot of recent stuff but they are awesome.
🥰 …oh, the video is good too
Good, clear video. You sure are lovely! I love your hair. This was the first time I have ever watched any of your videos. I am subscribing, and more important I am going to can some fiesta ranch beans. The price of canned beans has done job to $1.25 per can, on sale! I have to get me some more canned up.
My jars at this moment in time are all new so they better not be cracked! I use imperfect jars to put beans or whatever in to decorate the kitchen.
Love this video! I also have a 16 and a 23 qt. presto canner and mine said to put in 3 quarts of water and you put in 6 quarts. I was wondering why the difference. New to pressure canning and not to water bath canning, that I have been doing for years, lol, like for 40. Like I said really like your videos, all of them.
Thank you for your video.I am canning beans next weekend. I also have a Presto canner, jiggle only. No Dial gauge. In my canner there are 3 lines engraved on the inside of my canner. My owners manual said to fill it up to the bottom for pressure canning. That is the 3 inch mark I believe. Does your canner have lines engraved on the inside as well?
I use those for odds and ends in my sewing room. As long as I won’t cut myself.
I started canning with my grandmother when I was 8 years old. I will never forget the first time she sunk a jar without a band into the sink of vinegar and a tiny drop of soap!! I yelled Nanny what are you doing?? And she started to laugh. You've got to clean off the jars and nothing will get into them!
Thanks for the informative vid
wondering, you know the mixed beans you buy at the store, there like 4 or 5 different sorts of bean and different size of beans, I use this to make greak salads. My question is this, can I use your method to can a mixe of dry beans, pinto, red bean, black beans, chic peas and so on. Just mixe the beans I want and add half a cup of the mixe and do your method? (sorry for my english, hope you understand)
I just found your channel I like it and you live in the state I was born in. It's a nice state
Thank you for this video.. perfect for me : )
I’ve made several types of beans recently and loving the convenience! My black beans have soaked up all liquid so I’m trying to clarify that they are still safe to consume???
They are so long as you canned according to guidelines, they sealed, etc. Next time, just put a few less beans in the jar.
Just new to pc. I see in manual that the guage cant be stored in cold. I was going to store it in my coldcellar! Is it really that susceptible? I have a small home and no other place to store it. Do you take gauge off when not canning in winter?
