- In this video I will show you some lesser known features and secrets of Content Manager that you can use to make your route building easier, as well as an introduction to Pick Lists.
I hope this helps new TANE and TRS2019 users as well as those wanting a tutorial refresher.

Colin I have a friend who is trying to create a new asset for Trainz A New Era it is a pair of Griswold EM Gate Pedestal Mount Crossing Signals With Wishbone Gate Arms he is trying to figure out how to make the mesh work so that the Griswold EM Gate Pedestal Mount Crossing Signals With Wishbone Gate Arms and be converted to Trainz A New Era as freeware for a new asset these would work with the signal system out now for grade crossing signals TRC and ATLS systems.

OK, very good. Now, how do you get your tens of thousands of DLS assets from T:ANE into TRS2019 without re-downloading them all? Most of us couldn't begin to organize an operation like that having used Trainz for years. Approach Mediums's livestream suggested that many T:ANE Built-Ins aren't even included with TRS2019. Any ideas?

Yes, this is an ongoing issue . . . . there are many Download items that are just not available in TRS2019 . . . . . check on the TRS2019 forum for the latest status . . I know N3V are working on this but I have not had the time to update my knowledge for a few days . . and things are moving fast . . which is a positive . . sorry I cannot suggest further . . . . I have had little success moving across my own self developed routes to TRS2019 . . . too many items not available yet . . . .

Hi, I'm trying to rename assets (for convenience) in 2019. I've tried doing this in the config file under asset file name field and username field. Neither actually changed the name of the asset in the game. So.... Perhaps a tutorial on changing asset names? 😊
Thanks for the suggestion . . . . . . . . . However, I have never attempted to do it . . and I suspect it would not be feasible due to the corruption it could create in having TRS2019 resolve asset matches when doing a database rebuild . . . . . .. let alone resolve matches against other assets using it as a dependency . . I am speaking from a position of ignorance so bear that in mind . . . . . . However, I often apply an asset display name in Surveyor for buildings so I can view the asset on the maps etc (for convenience sake). Hope that helps.
As far as I can see you can only Preview items that are already Downloaded, Modified or Installed. Those that are Available For Download don't give the Preview option which rather defeats the object. Or am I doing something wrong?
In content Manager double click the asset you want an image of, it will bring up a new mini window with description and image as well as a click line to view in Explorer
Reggies Trainz has Griswold EM Gate Pedestal Mount Crossing Signals with single bar gat arms and I need the wishbone gate arms but his crossing signals don't include wishbone gate arms there are other crossing signals with wishbone vgate arms but they don't have the pedestal with them can you use the wishbone gate arms with the Griswold EM Gate Pedestal Mount Crossing Signals instead of the single bar gate arm he was suppose to have the gates available with wishbone gate arms but they have never come out I wonder if he is doing any new products the last new product was GP 60's in January 2019
I am getting into T"ANE and wondering if a route is doqwnloaded that someone did can you add buildings and signals and yard tracks and industrial spurs if they were not added to the route?
My recommendation is to save it under another name so you retain the original (often Payware) and can make mistakes but still go back if it does not work out. Bear in mind that copyright probably means you can only change someone else's route for your own use and rarely upload it for others without the original author's permission

Hello Matthew, No I don't work for N3V, even tho they are only a few miles from me. I was offered a position in the TRS2019 beta team, like many others. I have had access for some months now, and love it as it currently stands, as well as the potential for it. Compared to Train Sim World for instance, it has development tools that anyone can use, it has literally hundreds of routes available, TSW only about half dozen and no community involvement at all, which I suspect is part of Dovetail's short term objective. . Dovetail's other train sim, the old TS2018 which has had no update for two years and still very buggy, and yes, has some great community development tools but no future. Long Live TRS2019, even with the flaky marketing plan. !
