    Nunn was my favorite fighter for a while. The Toney loss killed me because he was owning James toney, and then he seemed to disappear from the public eye even though he kept fighting.

    • @kevinthomas2470
      @kevinthomas2470 9 місяців тому

      @@LobotomyMeat A lot of guys give Pernell credit for having better defense than Nunn. To me Pernell was evasive -- so yeah -- give him credit for being hard to hit. But with Michael Nunn, you are talking about someone that would stand right in front of his opponent with hands at his sides, and they couldn't touch him.
      In fairness to Sweet Pea, I didn't follow his career that closely because that Olympic class that he came out with -- Holyfield, Tyrell Biggs, Mark Breland, Meldrick Taylor -- they were more appealing to me.
      Toney and Lomachenko don't compare to MN, and althoug Toney beat him, let's be real -- Nunn was whipping his ass like a Catholic school teacher from the 50's until the KO.
      Wille Pep -- that 's the black and white era -- never watched him fight except a few highlights on YT. Locche -- never heard of him.

    Muhammad Ali the most atrocious boxing example. Review his films. He refused to learn Boxiana Science Gladiatorial Doctorate levels of mastery. Secondly, no Pugilist can learn from Ali’s fight films. The prestigious 15Rounds duration is utterly safer than the current and scandalous Day-before Weigh-in procedural. People need to research instead repeat. ©️Coach Hilario 2024

  • @GilturnerknocksoutphonyFloyd

    Boy you hit it on the head on all counts. I’ve been saying that for years. If Ali knew how to box he would not have had brain damage. His iron chin and determination make him great. He was not a boxer he was a fighter.
    Ali never saw a left hook he did not get hit with. He never threw a body punch. Once his speed left him and since he did not have conventional boxing skills he became a punching bag. His best defense was holding behind the head and leaning on the ropes. And before those who may read this get angry I’m right. He was indeed a great HW but as Teddy Brenner said
    Ali, he couldn’t punch and he couldn’t box but he sure could fight.
    The day before the fight weigh in has changed boxing. Roy Jones at MW! He never entered the ring at less than 175/180. When he got to LHW his more natural class he got cold cocked by two good but not great fighters. Roy knew he had a weak chin and he played the weigh in factor to perfection.
