If every Speed Duel product was like Battle City Box, it would do a lot for the format. Battle City Box is legit the best Yugioh product ever printed for newer players who want to get into the game or older players making a return. The bang for your buck is ridiculous.
Yeah but, and I know this doesn't or shouldn't really matter, I still don't understand why they included just about every card in that set EXCEPT Dark Magician Girl.

A shame they haven't supported Speed Duels as much as people wanted to, it really could be a great alternate format that's unique away from Duel Links with a higher focus on the nostalgia with some cool strategies and meta. I really don't want Rush Duels to replace this format. :/

Yeah the first 12 seconds is pretty accurate. I've been playing Dark Monarch with the Apprentice engine and it's been super fun as of late! I'd love to see a ton of you guys around for the Extravaganza this month, prize support is INSANE for this, and the most expensive cards you'll be buying are like, $10 Arcana Night Jokers, $5 Allure of Darkness, it's really not bad at all unless you wanna go max rarity, in which case it's still cheaper than minimum rarity in Advanced format.

I want to see the card pool open up a bit more. I'd love to see phantasm spiral in some way or a normal monster focus like early GX (minus neos, something more like frostasaurus maybe)
I think some elemental decks like the old school structure decks would be fun, just as s means of theming product. Earth pacman/flip screams to be a thing in a smaller format, fire burn/volcanics maybe, etc.

I wanted to introduce someone to Yu-Gi-Oh but I couldn't be quite satisfied by my options. I forgot about speed duel, this seems perfect for having casual introductory games.
Also the battle city box is such a good product. I'll get another one for that person if they're still around.

I'm gonna have to pick up Masked Beast Turbo, it's one of the funniest decks I've played in any format and it was a ton of fun. Advanced Ritual Art is legal! And I get to play Snatch Steal!!

Glad I'm not the only one who likes the quality of the cards.
As I told them in the survey recently, the only thing I hated was the giant "Speed Duel" emboss.
Beyond that it's the highest quality product release at least since I returned 2 and a half years ago and probably ever because it's much more like the Japanese stock where they actually put effort into their production because they actually have competition.
I gladly swiped up (at least) 4 copies of every Speed Duel card in existence.

I've always wanted to try playing with the Speed Duel card-pool (including skill-cards) but using the normal rules (40 cards, 5/5 layout, mp2, etc). Maybe one day.
Didn't sell me on the format, but I appreciate the gusto you have for it mate! Hopefully it'll catch on as time goes on and Konami gets better at supporting it, but....well, it's Konami we're talking about here They don't exactly have a good track record when it comes to their decision making.

My LGS still has so many of the old Speed Duel packs from the early part of the format, but can't keep most of the box sets in stocks.
Might actually do speed duels... these look much more fun than before pandemic
I agree on the packs. I feel like they could have just released another structure deck of Mako/ Bandit Keith/ Bonz and had a majority of the remaining cards in the packs left to one set of boosters not 4 boxes. Then they could have focused on cards that could enhance all the current structure decks for all the characters from battle city etc.
It seems like they tried to release other characters and enhance the structure decks both in the form of booster packs (e.g. gilford the lightning and harpies pet dragon).
Such a unique and great format; I hope that we get more support for this :)

I was pretty sure it was flat out dead after the battle city box and they did that to make room for the inevitable Rush Duel launch in the TCG. But that's interesting, speed duel was a lot of fun, just the lack of product releases really hurt it over time

Pauper had potential but ultimately I feel it was never considered after the yugituber championship because of gouki. But I feel like it can be a decent format to try out with more variety in mind

I guess not being able to use cards you already own and that costs literal cents and having to buy them again just to use in an alternate format was really what drove people off of speed duels before even trying. It is a really fun format though, wish it had gained more traction

Rather talking about Speed Duels ya should talk about Rush Duels. It even get a game on the switch in august. Also the anime does very good.

What makes me worried about Speed Duels is how it will interact with Rush Duels. If the rumors that Rush Duels will replace Speed Duels is to believed than either Speed duels will die, or Speed Duel will kill Rush Duels and it would suck either way
They are both fun ways to play Yu-Gi-Oh, buy they are so different, it's trying to compare an orange to a chair. Orange maybe tastes good, but on a chair you can sit. They are that different to me

I like speed dueling but I can't find a store that holds this format. They only hold master duel format.
