Unofficially if you get Bored you could Close your Eyes and Shuffle the Skill Cards and Randomly Place the Skill Cards on the Ground, and Randomly Pick One again with your Eyes Closed. And your Opponent would be doing the same.
Duel Links reminds me of the old rules that we used to play back in the days if Starter Decks Yugi/Kaiba and Joey/Pegasus. It's great for players like me who fell out of Yu-Gi-Oh for years and are now trying to get back into it.
Simplified answer: it’s a physical version of duel links! Rather than playing on your phone or PC, you use actual cards and play in person with kfbsr people.
A downgraded version of duel links, it lacks a lot in the card catalog, but i think its a good thing, its like a reboot of the game, a lot simplier for newer player and an entry point so that people some day enter the tcg
@@ImPolonn also it's a physical card game and not a digital one. So there is actual value in the game than claming to have powerful cards if all they are are just 1's and 0's.
@@991yugioh at the end, you have a way better experience playing duel links, you can play anywhere at any time, as i said the format its a lot more advanced on DL, and maybe you like the trading cards side of the game, thats cool, maybe you enjoy going out of your way to go to your locals and what not, but at the end of the day its the same game and its way better on duel links, and the "value" you give to the cards its super subjective so to each their own i guess

speed duel is sooo fun guys In France nobody know about it and it's so sad. Many of my friends discovered it from me and I converted many friends to players. I wish Konami will manage the things to push the game at its best potential. My dream would be to challenge stranger in the street like in the anime, I mean the game could have this potential for sure
I like what I'm seeing in Speed Duels. Modern Yu-gi-oh can be convoluted, so this somewhat simplified version of it is easier to get people into. I also like having characters with abilities adds a personal touch to the deck that makes strategies work that normally wouldn't.
Haven’t played yugioh since I was back in middle school, 2001-2003. Seems like what we used to play is now called Speed Duels. Except for the fact that less cards are involved, it all seems to be like how we would play cards all those years ago.
I like how you get a box that gives you 8 decks to play with. Will be fun to try out with some friends. I don’t really care much to learn new metas and build modern decks so its nice that you get some interesting decks right out of the box. Seems very similar to the commander format that magic has which is fun for people who don’t really keep up with modern yugioh or have never played
I think speed duels is a cool idea/format, but I'm waiting for more cards to be added to make it really worth getting into. Also because no one near me plays it. I do think it's a great opportunity for reprints, especially if they add old archetypes and cards that don't have many reprints
the speed duel format is a ton of fun! that being said, don't let Konami's "only use these cards with this specific text on them" hold you back from playing! Just buy the skill cards because you are literally buying the "speed duel" text on most of the cards in the boxes and decks.
Some of my favorite skills Joe palominzation. I have a great fusion deck with fusion monsters i pulled from the boosters like meteor b.dragon and ryusin. Ultimate evolution pill rex - replaced serpent night dragon with 2 jurrac tytannus i pulled. So from the deck i can get a 2500 dino that can tribute 1 dino to get 500 atk and gets another 300 per monster it destroys.. Thats just a couple of my decks. In total i built 7 speed duel decks so far and im loving them.
Something else I like about the time at which they started printing cards for Speed Duels is they can learn from their mistakes over the course of the entire real world OCG/TCG, and any mistakes they made in Duel Links, so at least hypothetically Speed Duels could be the most well managed variation of Yu-Gi-Oh! so far. That is if Konami is actually learning from their mistakes.

Why does it feel like no one know about Duel Links? Which is online speed duel, with amazing animations and voice lines. Before I played TCG and found out about team APS, I played the free to play game Duel Links.
One thing that I really like about Speed Duels is the printing of old school cards that we use to see in like old yugioh games but never been/or once a tournament pack printing cards. Now I can finally collect them. :) Also in sleeves topic. Buying a pack of 60 yugioh sleeves covers 3 speed duel 20 card count decks.
Speed duels is the physical version of YuGiOh Duel Links and the God Cards see more play in duel links! There are some good decks that have the potential to create some havoc in Speed Duels as it evolves.
Wow, I've just started playing Yu-Gi-Oh for a few months on a duel links app and just realized from your video that I've actually been speed dueling the whole time. I didn't even realize I wasn't playing the regular way.
I play speed duels but with normal size decks and field monster and trap zones with 8000 life points. I love the simple way a lot more. Like you said it reminds you of how Yu-Gi-Oh should be. That’s how it was when I was a kid.
On the note of building one's Deck around their skill, in Duel Links I had a Deck that was based on Draw Sense: High Level or Draw Sense: FIRE. I'd use a bunch of Trap cards to increase my life points so I could afford to take damage to add Lava Golem to my hand off Draw Sense, and then keep stalling from there until my opponent burned to death.
My little sister loves card games and likes yugioh but finds it a bit difficult at times even though we play the old school way. Luckily I discovered Speed Duels a few weeks ago and now know how it works, I can’t wait to have an easier simpler game for us to play.

At first the idea of 3 zones really put me off, but when I finally downloaded Duel Links I found myself really enjoying Speed Duels. I do hope this won't overtake the main TCG and will serve as originally intended, a bridge for new players.
On duel link skills, I use the skill where you can normal summon a monster(with no tributes) if it is light or dark, spell caster or dragon, with 2500 atk or def. I use it in my kiaba beat down deck
I like to play something we call 'Vintage Format', we can use cards from any era but with pre-Sinchro master rule, so no Sincros, Xyzs, Pendulums or Link cards, so its a slower game but still prety cool. A lot of those Speed Duel cards are prety usefull on that.
The first time I got introduced to speed duel was with the weevil and Rex starter decks, i alwayed liked weevil deck just cuz I never got a chance to run a proper great moth deck

I'm running an Exodia, Blue Eyes, Dark Magician and banish my cards deck. I have a card where when I banish a monster I can send a different attribute from the banished monster to the graveyard, hint throw Exodia in your graveyard from your deck bring it back to your hand.
I can weigh in here. There is definitely a way to protect yourself in duel links prior to the battle phase. I know the cards in the physical version may not allow for this but I think that's definitely a card availability issue not a format issue. And, in that format, swinging into back row blind, is typically a no no. Depends on the deck your facing. Also, the idea of "what does that card do" is absent completely from high level play. It's massively about deck and meta knowledge as apposed to player interaction. It's a bit of an autopilot format in a lot of cases but knowing how to set up your auto pilot is key. I'd assume if they keep releasing cards for the speed duels format it will essentially feel the same way duel links feels. Also... duel links has third party cash money prize support from tournaments thrown by a content creator. Go figure smh.
Couldn’t you just use current TCG Cards in a Speed Duels Deck and Speed Duel Cards in a standard TCG 40 - 60 Card Deck? One of my friend had me add a few cards from a Speed Duels Starter Deck to one of my real TCG Decks since the Card is too expensive to get.
Jon Stover Okay thank you. All my friends prefer regular TCG Yu-Gi-Oh than Speed Duels so being able to use Speed Duel cards in my TCG Decks can make completing some quicker.
Are the cards we can use to build a deck only from the speed duel decks and packs or it can be any card from de tcg (except the xyz, pendulum, link and related)?
Kinda late reply, but the speed duel rules state that cards must have the special Speed Duel text and watermark for a legal deck. But you can use the Speed Duel cards in the TCG
If we get XYZ and Syncros back into Speed Duels wouldn't it defeat the original goal of the format? Back to crazy fast first turns, combos, and paragraph long effect cards?
Speed Dueling is long overdue but not past due in my opinion: Good Job Konami! I truly believe this game needs a reboot. A True fun experience for card players & for old fans of the early anime. I remember the year 2002 as if it were yesterday… I was but a small young bastard at the time.. Oh the days of collecting the “Metal Raiders” & “Magic Ruler” booster packs, hoping & waiting for that sexy “Suijin” or a “Jinzo” perhaps.. The kids on the block use to blow in between the cards upon opening the pack from the upper top. Don’t ask me why 🤣🤣 as we thought this method would give us luck for the best cards! Besides the collecting value, dueling was highly addicting until the late 2000s. The game I use to love and adore became over complicated & corrupted just like my Ex.. 1st comes the honeymoon stage then comes the unnecessary long peroid of grief.. My point is.. Change is good when it’s done right & I feel the YuGiOh card game has become uninteresting & no longer engaging … I personally can’t invest time & money into something like that.. I refuse to read some long paragraph on single card like it’s the 2nd page of the New York Times.. Hopefully speed dueling is here to stay as I will become a fan of it even after a 18 year hiatus. Just a mere youtube video of a random speed duel is actually quite fun to watch, especially coming from someone as impatient as myself. I recommend this form of Yugioh to new and former players.. The main question you need to ask yourself. What got you into playing the Yugioh card game in the 1st place.. How did it make you feel to have that 1st duel. I personally miss that fun feeling.
Hey there I am just coming back to Yu-Gi-Oh! . I am one of those who played back in 2002 for a couple of years and recently purchased the legendary decks 2 with the 3 classic decks yugi kaiba and joey. Also bought the latest game Legend of the duelist : Links edition and just beginning to understand how much the game has changed. All these new mechanics xyz , pendulum, links are new to me. Do you think it will be worth it for me to invest in speed dueling or should I start learning the new mechanics since I am already familiar with the basics of the classic Yu-Gi-Oh ?
Simpler cards, looks at Heat Wave. sure. Heat Wave going to get a hit way too good in this card pool. No otks, looks at Blue-eyes decks. sure Black Skull dragon isn't in Speed Duels, yet, Meteor Black dragon.
One outlier example doesn't disprove an entire trend. You can't deny that the cards are much simpler than the regular TCG. Heat Wave is also very fair in this format. Most decks have strong monsters they can set, and the effect is only one turn. Blue-Eyes also has plenty of checks. It rarely actually OTKs on the first turn thanks to all of the game's defensive Traps, and its unlikely to actually go off perfectly to begin with. Have some faith! 👌🏾
Do skillcards go in spel/trap or fieldspel zones? Because there not exactly spelcard... Its a skillcard. Like yugi yumi skillcard(i think) gives 200 to spellcasters and fiends... But its a skill card. No spellcard so does it have to go to the fieldspelzone or not?

I've been wanting to get back to ygo after I stopped since 5Ds came out, but I am confuse. Which cards are legal? Is there an official card list, is it the same as duel links? Where can I look up the rules. All I see on their official site is just current banlist for the og TCG.
They're actually not bad! I'd say their biggest weakness is just Toon World getting destroyed by all the removal cards. But being able to attack directly, especially with Summoned Skull, is just nuts!

Speed duel is really fun because of the skill cards giving players a special ability. I play Serpent night dragon (try to be show accurate).
The first time I got introduced to speed duel was with the weevil and Rex starter decks, i alwayed liked weevil deck just cuz I never got a chance to run a proper great moth deck
So is this like how you play in yugioh duel links? That was how I learned how to play yugioh so thanks for introducing me to speed duels as this will help me get into paper yugioh easier as I'm more comfortable
More or less, they're the same. I find real life play to always be preferable to an app, though.

Everyone is always talking about duel links but if your looking for normal yugioh (without master rule four or pendulum) check out duel generation on iOS or android
I don't have a problem with Speed Duels, but I rather stick to official 5 monster zones and 5 trap & spells zones and two extra monster zones.
'.' this game literally was started with a top tier OTK deck in it with consistency boosting skill support too , even though it often doesn't go through it's still a large presence in the game

if they keep making ones based on anime characters/decks then I hope they eventualy get to the big 5 because then they could maybie turn final artillery into a skill, I have always liked that ability~

Arkana and Para/Dox are in Duel Links, and Bonz is also in an irl Skill Card, so I don’t see why the Big Five can’t get in.

I'm running an Exodia, Blue Eyes, Dark Magician and banish my cards deck. I have a card where when I banish a monster I can send a different attribute from the banished monster to the graveyard, hint throw Exodia in your graveyard from your deck bring it back to your hand.

I can weigh in here. There is definitely a way to protect yourself in duel links prior to the battle phase. I know the cards in the physical version may not allow for this but I think that's definitely a card availability issue not a format issue. And, in that format, swinging into back row blind, is typically a no no. Depends on the deck your facing. Also, the idea of "what does that card do" is absent completely from high level play. It's massively about deck and meta knowledge as apposed to player interaction. It's a bit of an autopilot format in a lot of cases but knowing how to set up your auto pilot is key. I'd assume if they keep releasing cards for the speed duels format it will essentially feel the same way duel links feels. Also... duel links has third party cash money prize support from tournaments thrown by a content creator. Go figure smh.

Couldn’t you just use current TCG Cards in a Speed Duels Deck and Speed Duel Cards in a standard TCG 40 - 60 Card Deck? One of my friend had me add a few cards from a Speed Duels Starter Deck to one of my real TCG Decks since the Card is too expensive to get.
Jon Stover Okay thank you. All my friends prefer regular TCG Yu-Gi-Oh than Speed Duels so being able to use Speed Duel cards in my TCG Decks can make completing some quicker.
Are the cards we can use to build a deck only from the speed duel decks and packs or it can be any card from de tcg (except the xyz, pendulum, link and related)?
Kinda late reply, but the speed duel rules state that cards must have the special Speed Duel text and watermark for a legal deck. But you can use the Speed Duel cards in the TCG

I truly believe this game needs a reboot. A True fun experience for card players & for old fans of the early anime.
I remember the year 2002 as if it were yesterday… I was but a small young bastard at the time.. Oh the days of collecting the “Metal Raiders” & “Magic Ruler” booster packs, hoping & waiting for that sexy “Suijin” or a “Jinzo” perhaps.. The kids on the block use to blow in between the cards upon opening the pack from the upper top. Don’t ask me why 🤣🤣 as we thought this method would give us luck for the best cards!
Besides the collecting value, dueling was highly addicting until the late 2000s. The game I use to love and adore became over complicated & corrupted just like my Ex.. 1st comes the honeymoon stage then comes the unnecessary long peroid of grief..
My point is.. Change is good when it’s done right & I feel the YuGiOh card game has become uninteresting & no longer engaging … I personally can’t invest time & money into something like that.. I refuse to read some long paragraph on single card like it’s the 2nd page of the New York Times.. Hopefully speed dueling is here to stay as I will become a fan of it even after a 18 year hiatus. Just a mere youtube video of a random speed duel is actually quite fun to watch, especially coming from someone as impatient as myself. I recommend this form of Yugioh to new and former players..
The main question you need to ask yourself. What got you into playing the Yugioh card game in the 1st place.. How did it make you feel to have that 1st duel. I personally miss that fun feeling.

So basically a Duel Links format. 20 - 30 card deck as well. 4000 LP. Skill cards similar to character skills in DL. No main phase 2.

Hey there I am just coming back to Yu-Gi-Oh! . I am one of those who played back in 2002 for a couple of years and recently purchased the legendary decks 2 with the 3 classic decks yugi kaiba and joey. Also bought the latest game Legend of the duelist : Links edition and just beginning to understand how much the game has changed. All these new mechanics xyz , pendulum, links are new to me. Do you think it will be worth it for me to invest in speed dueling or should I start learning the new mechanics since I am already familiar with the basics of the classic Yu-Gi-Oh ?
Simpler cards, looks at Heat Wave. sure. Heat Wave going to get a hit way too good in this card pool.
No otks, looks at Blue-eyes decks. sure
Black Skull dragon isn't in Speed Duels, yet, Meteor Black dragon.
One outlier example doesn't disprove an entire trend. You can't deny that the cards are much simpler than the regular TCG. Heat Wave is also very fair in this format. Most decks have strong monsters they can set, and the effect is only one turn. Blue-Eyes also has plenty of checks. It rarely actually OTKs on the first turn thanks to all of the game's defensive Traps, and its unlikely to actually go off perfectly to begin with. Have some faith! 👌🏾
Do skillcards go in spel/trap or fieldspel zones? Because there not exactly spelcard... Its a skillcard. Like yugi yumi skillcard(i think) gives 200 to spellcasters and fiends... But its a skill card. No spellcard so does it have to go to the fieldspelzone or not?

I love speed dueling and I love duel links but if speed duels turn into duel links with so many otk strategies I'll be ticked off
I've been wanting to get back to ygo after I stopped since 5Ds came out, but I am confuse. Which cards are legal? Is there an official card list, is it the same as duel links? Where can I look up the rules. All I see on their official site is just current banlist for the og TCG.

They're actually not bad! I'd say their biggest weakness is just Toon World getting destroyed by all the removal cards. But being able to attack directly, especially with Summoned Skull, is just nuts!

Speed duel is literally duel links but i like that because i love duel links and speed duels
so hard they sell the same cards again and i cant use my old cards for speed duels xD can you make a video pelase how the skill deck works ?
