- Officers deal with intoxicated suspects. One in Portland, agrees to the processing as long as he can sing a song for the officers. Elsewhere a drunk man refuses to cooperate and officers are forced to place the man in the holding cell until he sobers up. In Washoe, a young drunk woman doesn't recall why she is in jail.
Jail is an American documentary reality television series that follows suspects in custody from booking through to incarceration. The show documents events in different jails across the U.S. Jail is the sister show to Cops, a show that follows police officers on patrol.

The guy who says he refused to get in the shower with the two chicks? Yeah, he was lying.
@53:56 Officer: are you suicidal or homicidal? Guy with no teeth: "I'm stupidcidal does that make th-ense"😂🤣😅
If you say yes you get a room of your own, in some places you even get a mattress. I'd be answering "Affirmative".
The look on the deputy's face when dude said he was the prince of Monaco 🤣🤣🤣
Wouldn’t it be funny if he was.🤔

It takes a certain kind of human being to want to take care of these ADULT CHILDREN every day.

@@mupine67, I'm thinking more "protector", "caretaker".
I was arrested 17 years ago high on drugs for stealing my mother's truck, which I didn't steal. She had my Bronco and I had her truck but she knew I was in a bad place. I had lost my husband suddenly 6 weeks before and lost it completely. I stayed in for 345 days and was found not guilty at trial. I begged not to be released unless I could get into a treatment center. Even though they didn't have to they helped me get into a rehab. I stayed twice a long as the normal program. I hired on afterwards as a peer recovery specialist. Jail saved my life. I've been clean and sober ever since. It can help start you out on your journey of sobriety. It works if you want it to work. I pray that anyone going through active addiction sees that it doesn't have to be a negative thing. Use it to your advantage.
Congratulations , 13 yrs sober and Jail also saved my life, I just wish I was put in Jail early in my life . I hope your still doing good . 🎉
I like how they had the taser pointed right at his star fish
It's pointless to even talk to someone who is extremely intoxicated. IMO they're not considered competent and should not be answering legal or medical questions about themselves. It's such a shame. Also IMO, Alcohol is one of the worst drugs. It turns some people into absolute Monsters. They become completely different people. My DUI in 1998 literally saved my life. My name is Pam and I'm an Alcoholic. I'll celebrate 23 years sober in January. I am certain I would be Dead if I had continued down the path I was on.
Im glad you made it to the other side my friend. Proud of you, you are beautiful and so strong.
@@Wiikidmicky Thank You, I appreciate your comment. It was a long road out of HELL for sure. I changed my entire Life and the People I allowed in it. I am still so Grateful.
You go, girl!
IM VERY HAPPY ABOUT YOU PAMELA. GREAT JOB. ALCOHOL WON'T LET NOTHING GOOD. CONGRATULATIONS 23 YEARS AND COUNTING 😊
Congratulations 🎉 Pam on 23 yrs! I'm working on myself as well. Maybe you could give me some tips/guidance? If at all possible. And you are completely right about answering questions and turning into a monster, and it doesn't help with mental health issues, it seems to invoke psychosis. Unfortunately most people don't see it that way and still want to hold people responsible for their actions under the influence. Of course depends on the charge.
the officer is wrong when he says alcohol doesnt cause insanity! it absolutely does! especially long term use.
Also causes dementia.
agreed! they never heard of chemical induced psychosis especially since alcohol is a toxin to our bodies
The insanity is people abusing it period!
My dad says alcohol is a wonderful servant but a terrible master.
Negative
“if you’re intoxicated, are you responsible?” that immediate “yes” from the officer had me dead😂😂😂
Drunk or high is not a defense, according to law
Well it would be diminished responsibility. Also, you're not dead. Point taken however...

@@kianalautner99 Yes - but don't blame yourself.I always wonder how these people, women in particular, got to this stage - and sometimes empathy and sympathy wears out when they are being obnoxious and horrid. That;s just my experience, I;m hopeful that others are more tolerant than me! Wishing you a grand weekend, x
In the first clip, I think it’s smart how it’s only one deputy talking to the guy, and that the deputy is speaking in a calm voice. Less likely to make a difficult situation worse.
So glad I quit drinking. Watching these people act how I'm sure I used to just reinforced my decision.
That’s EXACTLY why Im watching this rn lol
I remember when I was 17 yrs old I was Drunk and didn't want to Drive and the Police sub-station was about 700 yards away so I WALKED OVER AND TURNED MYSELF in gave them my car keys and told them Officer Miller had always told us Not to Drink and Drive. The next morning Officer Miller said I did Good and said was I OK. That I could go . I never Drink And Drive. I worked in corrections and met a 20yr old, he said every time he drank he ended up in jail...not some times but EVERY time he touched alcohol he ended up in jail.
sounds like instead of just locking him up over and over and over again, we need to address the greater social ills. We certainly cannot count on our broken criminal justice and probation system. If you wind up in the system and do NOT adapt the views of those "treating" you, like, one example, marijuana is tempting, but because the EXPERTS CONTINUE to maintain that cannabis use is a threat to youth, to the safety and security of the community, jobs, family values, health, so much more. Yeah, you used to be a CO. I would not be surprised if you and the VAST majority of your former co-workers are SOCIALLY conservative. Family values, zero tolerance on drugs including even legal weed, which is not really legal because the jackboots still control the Fed. Gov. on cannabis, proper upbringing, proper ATTIRE, gotta protect that community. Some of us view things differently than the security-CRAZ so many officers seem to full victim to. When they do, they become abusive, corrupt tyrants. I have never been in your prison, sir. I am not even a convicted felon, though I should be, considering the awful crime as a teen of experimenting with FELONY level and LEVELS of narcotics. War to correct people's behavior is NEVER going to stop. You are a former CO. For all the ones who change their lives, so many others fail. You served a broken system for all the successes. I don't care HOW long you served, or THAT you served. That is a FACT. Every cop and CO in this country should agree. It absolutely IS correct to blame the system. And we will keep doing this even if you have to kill us, beat us, or shoot us to death.
there is going to be many CO's out of work as future generations of voters and legislators with a DIFFERENT mentality come into office. Strike all you want, you are still getting FIRED.
and for all the billions the prison system has, it won't be enough to stop social and cultural change. You are running things now, and likely to FURTHER on Nov. 8. The violent protests are NOT going away. Breaking the law is NOT going away with conservative, law-and-order legislators in office. Good luck subduing the young folk. And they WILL be violent. Even the National Guard does not have it. Angry citizens probably LITERALLY outnumber them. Outgunning and out-maneuvering would not take much work at all
Its ‘such a trip seeing their personalities change once they sober up… this is my favorite channel…
Cross dressing and substances abuse - he might actually be a Fed!
It makes me sick how these people blame everyone and anything for their crimes. Anything to not be responsible for themselves.
it is so depressing how lost these people are.
It's [really] Bad. 😨
I would hate having to deal with this everyday.
11:10 this guy thinks jail is a bed and breakfast lmao...He came for the food!

There's not much difference between a drunk person and a toddler. As a pothead I've never had these issues, but drunkards are ALWAYS LIKE THIS.
Two people that never lie a drunk person and a toddler!!😂😂😂😂
Right?!? I keep expecting someone to say, "I know you are, but what am I?" 🤣🤣🤣
I like the singing and song "Diggin' up bones". He could make money singing and probably has. Ah, it's a Randy Travis song from 1986. I didn't know.
I understand that many Homeless individuals do crimes to INTENTIONALLY get arrested just to be warm and fed in the Winter. 🥶
@34:20, this old dude sounds like a radio DJ. Great voice.
This show is hilarious! Better than "Bad boys, bad boys, whatcha gonna do"....
The one guy saying he loved going to jail and knew the menu wasn't a lie. Jail these days is a treat and they love the attention. If it was awful they might think twice about doing what they do. Thoughts?
Agreed .
Keep the jail episodes coming!
Dude in the underwear had me in tears 😂😂😂

The cop giving him a turkey sandwich and being so kind is what all cops should strive to be. Strong but compassionate. You can take down a lunatic but sympathize with the ones who just messed up but not big time. Hes very nice
Also he knows he is on tv
I THINK THE SAME WAY. COPS SHOULD BE PROFESIONALS AND FEEL SOMEONE ELSE PAIN 😊
Why? Because he's a white guy. Figures

That one woman, the unrepentant alcoholic was just befuddled she was in jail because her drug of choice is legal over the age of 21.
I've never been arrested but I had instances from drinking where the police had to transport me to psych hospital over booze.
Because the Sherriff's are on television.
Very good mel is alice still looking hot?
same here i had many episodes of drinking then going to psych. i was always polite and compliant no matter how drunk i was, mostly because the nurses are nicer if you show respect and you get treated equally no matter what you are in for. act up and its not as easy of a ride, mind you this is canada though different set of protocols here

I feel for Michael the guy with the bloody face , he seems like a nice man, Prayers for him and all people who have a bad life 🙏❤️🙏
Me too. 😊 The problem is that people that tell people to get on a straight road (path) *but* the problem is that (most of the time) the people that are giving advices "just" have to:
a) deal with them for a short period of time, usually (like in this program)
b) it is easy to tell someone to get "this and that fixed" (they don't have to pick up the bill)
c) 90% of "the poor" (like Michael with the blood face said) don't have the money 💵 💸 to improve X Problem.
True 😃 that people on a straight path usually say: "But they have money 💵 to drink 🍹 for". It is not good to drink, but put it in a perspective: a little bottle 🍾 of liquor cost maybe $5-$10, but a real choice and change maybe costs $5.000 or more depending on the problem (problems costs money folks)...😊 😊
Meh. He threatened a woman he'd readjust her face and only apologized after a bigger man called him out on it. He deserves prayers but I wouldn't call him a "nice man."
AMEN.🙏🏾💘🙏🏾💘🙏🏾
Came to say I need the extended version of “Diggin Up Bones”😂
Detox off opiates or benzo or alcohol in jail is terrible, if this jail in Vegas doesn't give meds, it will be miserable
Ashton, Oh dear

Can we get Jeff some singing refinement lessons and a record deal so that he can just be normal and have a little Fame and someone can manage him and keep him off the alcohol

Naw you make it too easy and the piggies get fat. Gotta work em out every once in a while.
COntrary to the other response to you, it is absolutely clear that if one co-operates then it makes that short-term time in jail easier. Refuse to co-operate and trouble will ensue. Leave it for judicial decision later is the way to go.

After seeing the effects of alcohol on my family growing up and how that abuse of it on my father subsequently affected my life as an adult , I made a decision at a young age way before even teenage hood to never touch alcohol, drugs or smoke. I have faced peer pressure from colleagues and acquaintances to try it and I have never faltered on my decision...
It doesn't make me a better human being than anyone who chooses to drink or not but it's ultimately about how you choose to treat other people around you, intoxicated or not
I wish nobody ever drank.. becuase it does far more damage than good.
I applaud your decision. I gave up drinking at 21 and smoking at 40. 2 best decisions of my life.

the police in sarasoda almost killed me for having a seizure in a restaurant. they assumed i was drunk or on drugs and tore my arms out of their sockets trying to put handcuffs on during a seizure.i hadn't had a drink in 22 years and have never done drugs.when they got me to the jail they gave me valium ,which induced more seizures..then they beat me up and strapped me into that chair which caused more injuries..after about 15 5- 10 min seizures they took me to the hospital..a neurologist at the emergency was screaming and yelling at them for what they had done to me and how close i was to dying from the the treatment and lack of medical care.he testified in court against the officers and the medical staff at the jail..my family was telling them that i was an epileptic .that i don't drink or do drugs. they threatened to arrest my 72 yr old mother if she didn't shut up..my family phoned 911 for an ambulance and cops showed up instead..millions of american dollars went up north to canada the day the trial ended..
