I went to prison for my 4th DUI, that's mandatory in California, as I should have and a felony. I never hurt anyone physically, aside from what my arrests did to my family and friends, and was never in any accident, but I could have. My 2nd and 3rd were sleeping it off in the parking lot outside of the bar and club but I had the vehicle running for the heater and it's still technically a DUI with intent. Prison stopped me from getting behind the wheel but never stopped the reason I was killing myself with alcohol. I got that from a church and a rehab program. Now I'm sober from everything going on 2 years and never felt better.
One day at a time. I actually take it one minute at a time 🙂
@@Flutteringby Amen to that. Stay strong 💪
Awe wow guy thanks for sharing your journey. Glad you have found peace in your life. I used to drink and drive. Totalled one car on my own tree on my property. Smashed side of my dream car few years later. I've been sober for only 7 months as I can't handle drinking and not driving. I'm never in my right mind cuz idk when to stop. I could be in prison for life for murdering someone's child behind the wheel
I hope you DL was revoked for good.
Awsome to hear from you have achieved a great milestone keep going. From Australia and an alcoholic for 30+ years, however sober now for almost 4 months and enjoying being able to function in a normal way.
that girl spoke so kindly to that addict so sad what drugs do to a person these officers do an amazing job
With that much perspiration, and ranting, I’m betting on drink and meth! He DID get a police response, just not what he expected!😂😂
"Why stop I've already lost them?" Dear heart children always need their mama's no matter what age but you have to be clean to earn them back. Parenting is truly a privilege.
Totally agree - even if you can’t earn them back you can still show them you care and are trying to improve. They deserve that much.
Children need decent adults in their lives.
Never had a Mother and I Am 50 this year, I have never been married and I have been single fir 20 years, not having the Love of a Mother has really affected my life negativity !
i am 20 and i lost my dad and i still need my mama
Even if they have been legally adopted out so she never can regain custody, they will be 18 before she knows it. Time goes fast. It would be worth it to get clean and her life in order hoping for a relationship with them as adults and watch her future grandchildren grow up. If she stays like this, they won't want to get to know her then and she will lose them forever.
That's so sad. I thought she was in her 40s. The drugs have stripped her of everything. I'm so grateful to be 4 1/2 years clean. It's never too late. I was homeless, lost my son, was selling myself you name it. I'm clean, have a job, an apartment and most important I have my son. His birthdays coming up, I can buy him gifts, I'm there for him. And I have no one, it's me and him, that's it, his dad died in a car accident when he was 5 months old. And it's still possible to be clean, sober and happy.
bruh ! yeah, i was thinking the same ! i was like, no this chick i in her mid to upper 50s smoker and druggie ; hence the missing teeth and looking rough even for 50s, but when she said, what , 26... ? i did the same WHOA, what ? as that 29 year old chick sitting next to her did. maaaann, them drugs and other addictions aint do no good for no body !
but yeah, good on ya hun, for getting out of that life ! keep on keepin' on, mad respect, stay safe !

Robin really was genuine with Melissa and truly has a heart, no matter what else she's done.
I agree. I hope the both were able to turn their lives around since this aired. Sadly, I think it’s very unlikely that Melissa is even still with us - I hope I’m wrong.
That lady said she is 28 that’s crazy what drugs can do
9:05 You mean this one? Her face, which has become "manly" doesn't fit her feminine body.... like a partial sex change. Without help, in ten more years, she'll look like Willie Nelson.
They both look a lot older!!!
I know!! I’m 50 and I thought she was my age.. if not older..
she looks twice that, sadly.
shes 28? looks 40. easily...
I hope for Melissa that one day she gets the life she so longs for♥️
I wonder how many tears Melissa’s children have shed, longing for her.
Hopefully they're being raised by someone who knows how to act like a responsible adult.
Amen but we can pray they are with a loving family now!!
yeah it will be her fault if anything ever happens to them and it already has because unfortunately, they were born to someone like her
Love this series, wish there were more episodes. The officers seem to be really kind.
Kind??? Only because they're being filmed.
I wish there was more variety other than the usual drunks, druggies, et cetera. How about a wrongful arrest where the cops are shown to not be as "perfect" as this show would have us believe.
The people at the bottom of the pay grade are more kind than the ones above. They are trying but they're likely understaffed, and they are at the FRONT LINE, of mental health for those who can't afford private care.... Which they aren't trained for, and don't really want to have to do at that pay rate...

@@erikdraven1731, the officers in the jail don't make any arrests, lawful or otherwise.
The Aussie brothers have to be the most calm I have seen on this channel, I bet the deputies etc wish all the people they deal with were like that.🇦🇺🇺🇸
Because we're just more chilled people mate that's why n not big noters
They are calm because they're in U.S. and they're scared to be manhandled there, unlike in Aus where they will just be disrespectful towards Aussie police and act like normal bogans as how most Aussies do.
Every once in awhile, another inmate steps up to give someone some real life advice. Even at some of the worst times in their life, they still try to reach out. I wish there was a program where the staff could find a place for them to have a job giving advice. I know the jail staff try that too. But none of them have been in active addiction. I know they have a chaplin who tries to help too but sometimes, the only one who can get through is someone who's been there, done that.
Much truth to that
There are programs where ex offender's can no into jails and give their testimony.
@@c_me_now I've done that. It was awesome
You have no idea, plenty of workers have their own issues
I recently graduated drug court and have been sober 2 1/2 years. I enrolled in my local college to become a drug and alcohol counselor and I would love to work in a prison setting when I complete my degree, helping others that are in the same position I was once in.
Gosh these law enforcement people are so perfect for their jobs. The compassion and they treat people with respect they are making a difference in the world.
Yeah......it's not like they're being filmed and they're being on their best behavior or anything 😏
Cops knowing you by your first name is a big tip off.
Correction YOU WERE A NURSE!
I can't help but laugh every time someone comes in so inebriated that they get put into the "chair" and get the "bag of shame" put on their head. Definitely a game (and attitude) changer!!
Kkkkkkkkkkkk True
Maybe that chair should have the ability to be plugged into the 440 vac.
These people always say they are going to call their lawyers. I don’t think they have lawyers on retainers.🤣
LOVE their use of the mandibular pressure point!
Just get me ooouuutttt.... that damn jingle is in my head all the time
That lady being locked up 45x I hope she cleans her act up along with the 28 yr old they are both young and have so many opportunities I wish the best for them 💕
Obviously, lock up does these poor ppl no good.
The injuries aren’t consistent with playing a sport the guard says. He’s obviously never watched Aussie sport 🤦🏻♀️😂
"The Chair" It's like sitting in the corner for grown ups. Well, almost grown ups.
LMAO yup, and nope not grown up, they are still 4, 5, and 6, socially and emotionally, hence, the adult time-out in the chair and in jail LOL XD sad but true.
This is why Hollywood movie are so popular, just need to copy reality inside US and for the rest of us it's amazing.
This episode kinda made me tear up with Robin and Melissa. Hopefully the inmate to inmate talk that Robin and Melissa had gave her the willpower to stop using drugs.

I love Officer Jaime
She has such a great attitude and really cares. You can tell -People like her make all the difference
Officer Jamie is the best. I legit get mad when one of the detainees are mean or rude to her. She treats people so good and is genuine unlike the often sarcastic Nicole. Jamie is an angel and was meant for this work.
Always somebody else's fault. I went in, pled guilty, did my time and moved on with my life. No, I'm not going to post my crime.

Rhonda breaks my heart. 😢
Robin would be an excellent motivational speaker! I think she'd be a great drug and alcohol councilor too. she's bright, beautiful, and caring. if only she'd get help for herself and realize she has amazing value! I wish I could talk to people as easily as she does, I've just got huge social anxiety. I'd much rather be around animals than people.
Those wheeled chairs are magic!!!
Love these type of documentaries , also airport documentaries , great way to pass time.
Eventually it brainwashes us into never even considering being an idiot when dealing with authorities. Some are amazing, literally spending hours and hours restrained and locked up when if they cooperated out within half an hour.
Homegurl looks 50+ but she’s only 28!!!! Omg poor children.
Yeah if that’s not a warning of what drugs rob from you….I think I’d be too vain, it like my teeth !🥴
Why doesn't anyone encourage Robin to get a job talking to drug addicts? Her experience will help others. She was there for 45 times. There has to be better things for her to do than seeing jail.
28 wow I thought she was 58

Same! It’s so sad drugs leave people literally as a shell of a person. Takes everything from them and just leaves someone just looking terrible
Wow Melissa's TWENTY EIGHT? She looks 68 smh..
"Their injuries are not consistent with a sport "- I've watched Australian 'footie' , the injuries seem typical , though there's usually more blood.
They didn’t have enough injuries for a game of footy just doing what brothers do have a quick wrestle
😂🇦🇺
I totally agree Michelle
Really funny hey run round with guns and kill each other yet a dust up lands you in jail 😂🇦🇺
@rachejohnson5427 it literally could’ve been a ‘settle down fellas’ thing. Aussies don’t lie about stuff. We don’t carry on about nonsense
@Rache Johnson “follow our laws” - I don’t recall there being a law against rough housing with your brother on any state or federal law book. The folks who are saying the police could have done better are correct. Instead of taking in a couple of guys for being a bit rowdy and clogging up the system, the police could have been proactive and explained the situation. The whole domestic law thing where both parties are arrested and charged is a huge issue because it is often used as a cudgel by actual abusers to further hurt and control their victims.
I REALLY hope that 20 yr young man who has been doing heroin for 8 years gets the help he desperately needs. Seems like a truly sweet guy.
I agree with you about what you said
You have to laugh at these fools who have been arrested & are being taken into the jail & insist they are not going to be arrested 🙄 I hope she has a lovely time with her lawyer telling her there are consequences for her misbehaviour & crimes (fraudulent credit card??? I get a lot from these videos I am an alcoholic and although sober now watching this gives me a boost to stay this way.
I hope you stick with sobriety. These shows tend to show the dramatic lows, but having loved an alcoholic, I can tell you there are a thousand steps down to these lows & almost every one of those steps hurt your loved ones & you. My ex blew up his life & threw everything away, including his life. He died at 43 from liver failure after two episodes of ruptured oesophageal varices so he never got sober & never got everything back.
Man being sober is the best, you get to keep your money, people can trust you, you can wake up early and feel good just watching the sun rise.
Amen!! Been sober since 2008 and I’m not that person anymore but all it can take is one drink and I will be.. And it’s good I watch this to remember !!

The Aussie brothers, they are absolutely 💯 telling the truth. I'm from New Zealand and we do the exact same thing here. I understand how frustrated they will be feeling right now because all they were doing is exactly what they said they were doing. Unfortunately, when you do go to a different country, the rules are different and they don't understand what or why we do that sort of thing, some times.
It's rugby and that's what ya do👍🇳🇿
I know some Aussies. Those officers clearly never met any real Aussies. The brothers really shouldn't have done it inside the hotel though.

Seriously?? Two brothers who were fighting but both parties are fine yet you still take them to jail?? Like give them a bench ticket or whatever you call it. Officer Dbag. Obviously he didn't make enough arrests that month.
I’m gonna guess the cops have never seen a rugby match because, yeah, those injuries are 100% possible from just goofing around. I nearly had a tooth knocked out in gym class and we weren’t even playing full contact. “Those injuries aren’t consistent with a sport”. seriously?
Rugby sport is for sissies. Try Cricket and Table tennis.
It is to bad that alcohol doesn't freeze their vocal cords,I truly respect these officers for what they put up with day after day
Alcohol is drug. That’s just a fact! I’m going on 5 months sober, it’s not a long time sober but it’s the longest I’ve been sober and I will keep going! One day at time! Every day is a blessing and I’m just beyond grateful to be where I’m at today 🙏🏽

5 months IS a long time! Especially if its the longest you have ever been sober! amazing job! Im a sober alcoholic (sober since 2013) and I remember when I just had one week, and I was like ”wow this is insane, ive been sober a whole week!”.
