- Officers of a Las Vegas jail process a couple arrested for attacking each other. As they talk to the female suspect, the male suspect is caught having a seizure. Officers question whether he is faking it or not. Elsewhere, a man charged with driving under the influence denies being involved in a hit and run with a family of four. His lies appear too elaborate to fool the officers. Meanwhile, another drunk woman refuses to cooperate and is placed in a restraint chair.
Jail is an American documentary reality television series that follows suspects in custody from booking through to incarceration. The show documents events in different jails across the U.S. Jail is the sister show to Cops, a show that follows police officers on patrol.

How can someone be on their 8 DUI and not be in jail. Are they waiting for a fatal accident.
Because they only give them two or three years
@@crazyray610Yep. 4th one in California is a felony and usually mandatory prison time with an 18 month sentence. Sitting in county jail gives you 1 day in for 1 day off for good time. So if you prolong court say 3 months from time of arrest and sentencing you've knocked off 6 months already. Then a week later you're in a state prison reception where you can wait up to 3 months and that's straight time until you get to mainline and see the committee, which decides if you're charges will give you 66 ⅔, 50 or 15% off for every day served in mainline. This all depends on your charges and what your points add up to. DUI is considered nonviolent so you will either get half time or if your points are really low, 1/3 time. Factors are dependent on things like are you gang affiliated, have a place to live , parents and family still in your life, did you have prior prison time ect. If you are sentenced to Federal prison you must do no less than 85% of your sentence. So reasonably a 2 year sentence could only mean 8 to 10 months in prison. Most of this came into effect due to prison overcrowding and Fed Cap laws. Plus a disproportionate amount of people in prison for small drug offences that could be better served in a drug or alcohol rehab facility instead. Because the saying is mostly true that prison only makes better criminals.
And they won't be hurt at all, so many times an accident is fatal for the person the drunk driver hits... Yet the driver is unscathed...

The guy who faked a seizure. All i can say to him is that having seizures isn't fun at all. I have them and when i come too, it scares me to death and i cry because i feel bad for my family and my boss and coworkers who see me having them
I agree. I have epilepsy I have complex focal seizures. seizures are exhausting. I hate people who fake seizures.
i've a mate who suffers with epilepsy & i agree its horrible & scary for every1. he's always embarrassed an' all thru no fault of his own & we're both in our 50s. peace
I don't know about you, of course, but I have grand maul seizures and I will tell you what, if you don't know, those hurt and take all energy out of you in a couple of minutes.
Another great example why our Court System is ineffectively horrible, 8 DUI"s & He's still driving just waiting to kill someone!
He SHOULD BE IN PRISON FOR 20 YEARS WITH 8 DUI’S.
It’s not the courts. Blame the lawmakers who take money from the hospitality and alcohol/liquor industries to loosen these laws.
@@nycatlady2314 Indeed, the laws need to be changed, But the courts are overly lenient with the laws we do have, far too many plea deals!
@@suzannevega2289 there should be no deals for violent offenses, I agree. What’s happening now is that they’re trying to correct the over-incarceration problem we had by going too far the other way. I hope they find the middle soon.

These poor people have to babysit the lowest of the low. I cannot imagine how old that must get. They have my utmost respect.
Most of them are 'only' drunk and disorderly, at least they're not priests/other rapists, racists or murderers
Same here man . My company servicing one of these places. I also have seen a lot of these scenes 😢😢🎉🎉it’s horrible. These people really have patience of saints ❤

When I watch these it makes me realize that I'm so glad I stopped doing drugs and drinking when I was 20, and never got tattoos all over myself like a smelly degenerate.😂
Why do they put two obviously belligerent drunks in the same cell? They have to know what's likely going to happen. Seems a bit cruel.

So the guy had 7 prior DUIs and actually believes anyone is going to by his story about him not actually driving for his 8th. That guy is lucky he hasn't killed someone.

If it was his 1st DUI they would not believe him. Since it is his 8th he is a moron to even think they would consider it. My wife was killed by one of these guys. That person tried to deny guilt as well. That alcohol face is a dead giveaway.

Aint delt with any have you theres a bunch of theves and drug dealers around where I live that have the same last name I do I get hasseld all the time because of it and I don't even know the people who cause the problems try it some time it gets realy old
I was born in Vegas decades ago. No biggie because when I turned 1, parents went back home.
I've been "busted" twice. The first time I was 16. I was able to pour out beer and drive my car home. The girl I was with was taken in for lying about not having ID. Of course she blamed me 😅
The second time was embarrassing but took complete accountability with no fuss.
I will never understand why people act out, plastered or not, deny, fight and pile on charges.
These intake centers (?) are staffed with the best of the best!! None one employee/law officer is paid enough to deal with these... people!!

Yeah….you don’t have a seizure and then come to and say “I just had a seizure”. That’s a dead giveaway. You can have “pseudo-seizures” which is basically just a nice way to say you’re faking it.
@@AlaFrigginBama pseudo seizures are NOT people consciously faking seizures..it's actually a real medical condition and the proper name for it is psychogenic non epileptic seizures..it's a real seizure disorder its just that the seizures are not caused by electrical activity in the brain and have other causes(anxiety,stress,head injury etc). A good portion of people with epilepsy will also suffer from non epileptic seizures as well..there's been studies showing there's an overlap.."pseudo seizures" is actually an old,outdated and no longer acceptably used term

I love Officer Nicole saying, "Use your listening ears." She was an elementary school teacher and sadly she has to treat many of these adults like she did her previous students!!
One of the most patient officers thus far on this show. I wonder what made her move from teacher to deputy? She would have made a good teacher.

Nicole is an amazing Officer. She doesn't molly coddle the belligerent criminals, eventually the criminal starts to come around. You do whatcha got to do.

I have occasional grand mal (tonic-clonic) seizures. I'm not sure what is wrong with the dude who claimed to have a seizure, but his didn't look at all like the stages in a classic seizure.
During one, the body, arms, and legs typically flex (contract), extend (straighten out), tremor (shake), followed by a clonic period (contraction and relaxation of the muscles), then finally by the postictal period (symptoms subside). The patient doesn't necessarily go through all of these stages, but something similar usually happens. The entire seizure usually lasts 3-5 minutes.
I have seizures too. Tonic clonic with an aura. I always lose consciousness. My last one though I had an aura and slight twitching but never lost consciousness. I think it was just a partial one that time. It is the scariest experience. I literally feel like I am going to die before I lose consciousness and it’s terrifying because there is nothing I can do to stop it. I wouldn’t wish that feeling on anyone and for this guy to sit here and fake it just makes me so angry. I am so sorry you have to go through seizures as well. I hope you are doing okay now. @@charismaholder My occasional seizures don't really frighten me except when one happens in public. And If I lose consciousness, it's even worse. It's very upsetting to be out among people one moment, then surrounded by police and EMTs once you regain your bearings. This has happened to me 5 times. Luckily, nobody ever tried to rob me in the middle of a seizure.
The worst part is not being able to drive.
@@davemathews7890 I agree with you on the seizures happening in public. It’s very overwhelming for me to be okay one minute then wake up with EMT’s around me the next. I’m glad no one has ever taken advantage of you during one like you said. What a horrible thing for someone to do. It just really makes my heart hurt.
@@charismaholder I live in a big city so there's always a chance of someone taking advantage. But people are instead always really concerned and helpful. On two occasions, people called 911 about me and once a nurse stepped forward to help until the EMTs came.
Listen I’m a nurse and I’ll be honest- there ARE different types of seizures. There is something called an absent seizure where you can space out and become unresponsive. BUT, I don’t think this guy had a seizure. First of all… he’s drunk/tipsy. That’s a central nervous system depressant (aka a downer). Do you know what else is? Ativan (also a down). Do you know what we give to stop seizures? And to help with alcohol withdrawal? ATIVAN! It’s possible to have a seizure while drunk (esp if you’re an alcoholic who withdrawals with alcohol in your system), but it’s very unlikely
Also, his symptoms aren’t that absent seizure. Someone having an absent seizure usually looks like someone spacing out in class. They’re eyes are fixed no matter what you do. Sometimes the eyes can even develop a “glaze” to them. Literally think of a glaze donut, the eyes can look like that. Afterward they may not even know they had one… they’ll just be a bit “foggy” and drowsy after it.
He freaking made duck face/did the smolder, looked across the room (people’s eyes can move in other type of seizures, but this was not it. It’s usually more than once and rapid), and he like jerked himself awake like he wasn’t paying attention in class and got caught when he came out of the seizure?? And remembered he had one instantly??? Not a thing. That’s how they knew he was faking it.

I was given medicine that made me feel lousy for 3 days...on the 4th day..I went blank...found out I had a grand mal seizure...fell flat on my face broke 4 teeth...and didnt know it until I was in a hospital.....
I know you don't want sympathy however my heart goes out to you. How long do your seizures last and how long until you're back on your feet?
I ask because my adult daughter has severe non epileptic clonic tonic seizures. Hers last all day the vomiting lasts for hours. Depending on how many she has in a day the longer she takes to recover.
I'm upset that someone would despicably have the cheek to fake one. Nobody knows or understands the pain from the muscles after a seizure except those poor people who suffer

The first guy said he took a nap in the bushes when officers asked him, and that made me think about all the times I have chosen to find a nice prickly bush with a little height on it, to crawl under and take a nap. My favorite bush is outside my bedroom window. My bedroom has a very comfortable bed with lots of soft pillows on it. Occasionally, I will bring 2 of my pillows other time’s just crawl under and go right to sleep.
Be careful. Snakes and critters love bushes.

Yes, she is attractive, and, if she as sharp as she looks, use it as an advantage to chill out most people. She should've been a therapist or working with teens on the wrong path. The 2nd drunk telling everyone to shut up, they said she tried to fight an 80 year old on oxygen, if she tried that with my 80 yr old aunt it would be a different story. My aunt is a interior designer and has her business in Pennsylvania and Virginia and North Carolina, drives back and forth constantly . She did sell her own private plane and gave up her pilot license, also she’s beautiful.
There should be like a safari in some national park where we can put people and drive around in armored cars showing kids that they should behave or else.
