Mie Goreng is my ultimate favourite food. I eat it almost everyday. I don't care about the calories and all that crap. I love it. It makes me happy. So I'll keep eating it.
amazing!! same!! I love it, its so so yummy! also makes me so happy! That is the only thing that matters. We shouldnt worry about calories and all that stuff. Aslong as we’re happy and healty!
as a foreigner u really nail this recipe.I grew up in Indonesia and by just looking at the ingredients you didn't miss the delicacy of Indonesia. Indonesian really likes to use shallots, sambal and kecap manis a lot. although most people would just sprinkle the bawang goreng (fried shallots) on top of the mi goreng. but on top of all, well done!
As a Indonesian, i never thought to mix the sauce in advance then pour them once together, we ussualy add each sauce one by one while cooking, thank your for sharing!
I tried to cook this....and my ohmy, its so delicious! I left the shallot out,and substitute the shrimp with chicken. Its still super delicious. Thank you Seonkyoung.
I'm so happy to see this! I'm half Japanese and Indonesian,I'm happy that one of my fav youtuber cooked Indonesian food! Please make Nasi Goreng too maybe? :)
Great dish. I added fresh ginger and cilantro in the second batch, just because it was there. Also went heavier with the sauce. Asian at HoOome is my inspiration -thank you.
Im not Indonesian but the first time i eat mie goreng is in Cambodia made bu Indonesian Restaurant it is delicious. I love Indonesian because we have same ancestor. Even our language is different but our accent and intonation is totally the same. Well same part of island in Philippines use the Indonesian language... LOVE YOU INDONESIA.....
Made this tonight, and it was so delicious!!! The only thing I did different was cook the shrimp in butter and garlic!!! Will definitely be trying out more of your recipes! 😀
There is an Indonesian Restaurant in Frankfurt Bockenheim called Wayang which makes this delicious food. Most times I am there I order this food the most. It is very tasty so I wanted to learn how I can make it myself. Thanks for this video.
i never expected you would share an indonesian food recipe~~ looking forward to more asian at home recipes, as always! ^^ ♡ ps: anyway! kecap is pronounced as "ketchup" without the 't' instead of ke-cup ~ :>

I'm very happy you introduce Indonesian authentic food to the world. thank you so much and this mie goreng is one of my favourite food. and I think infuse tempe to Korean dish would be good idea. what do you think
I made this today! Just used a little less Sambal Oelek (1 Tsp) and it turned out just right. I also had shrimp with the shells still on, so I peeled them first and cooked the shells in the oil for a bit - for more flavor. I've never made a fried egg like this before and I was astounded at how different it came out and how tasty, creamy (even the whites!) and easy it was. This was a great dish, thank you! I will now be looking into more of your other dishes!
My daughter and I tried this dish for the first time a few weeks ago and fell in love with it. I can't afford to eat out all the time so I looked up the recipe. Yours was the easiest to follow and seemed like the flavors I could recall so tonight I made it. And it is spot on! Thank you so much for your wonderful channel. I've made several of your recipes and they always become a family favorite :)
ahhh Seonkyoung Longest, you make me cry!!!!! I am an Indonesian and live for almost 3 years at France for my master study. I really miss this food. Actually the mie goreng that you cooked is mie goreng java. Because we have a lot of typical mie goreng based on our province . And its very different one each other. Thank you for your mie goreng youtube receipe. it's kind of sweet present for me. And happy to know both of you love the dishes from my country..........
+Trisna Eko Wiyatni Kawaii you can cook in france too, you can find every ingredients in the local asian store or on internet and make your own indonesian food. Cheers from Paris
i am so pleased you make this. obviously that we have no fixed recipe for it. It's up to you what do you want to put in your sauce. but usually we only use sweet soy sauce and ketchup for lazy home cooking, and thumbs up for your perfect Indonesian style sunny side-up fried egg
I love that you mention a vegetarian option! I don't eat meat but I love to watch your videos and make the recipes without meat and they're still so good. Thanks for the inspiration!
I'm quite relieved that my people are nice to you lol, not saying that ur recipe is wrong etc, hope those narrow minded people change someday, best wishes
G'day Seonkyoung. I have just made this dish twice in 3 days. 1st time with chicken and today with shrimp, squid & fried fish cake. Your recipes are so easy to do but pack a tonne of flavor in them. Please keep up these great videos. I've cooked 3 already and they have been a joy to eat. thanks again.
Hi, @Seonkyoung Longest. My name is Leif and I am from Indonesia. I'm very pleased to see one of my native (and favorite, probably) food is being filmed here. If I may make a suggestion, you can take it to a new level by using Indonesian Shrimp Paste (in Indonesia, we call it terasi). You can add it before adding the vegetables. But I have to warn you, the smell won't be pretty, but it's actually worth it. Hope you'll enjoy it. :)
wow, i love how you cook and how you eat the food, make me so hungry haha. And i excited when you cooking mie goreng from indonesian street food, and thank you for created this!! :) and you must try to cook indonesian food for your next video :)
Hello Seonkyoung, my name is Annie and my husband Gilbert and I just came across your cooking videos and OMG we love your dishes (and you of course, lol). I just wanted to take the time to thank you for encouraging us to try new dishes and not be afraid. Your videos make cooking look so simple yet so delicious! We are actually going to go to an Asian market tomorrow to get some goodies so we can start cooking Asian At Home ASAP! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for being You
+Annie Cristofol Hi Annie & Gilbert!! Thank you so much for taking your time to stop by, watching my videos and leave this lovely comment!! It really made my day, you have no idea!! 💕💕💕
recently i'm studying abroad and watched you're cooking mie goreng just make me feel : TAKE ME HOME!! REALLY MISSING INDONESIA😭😭. btw i think you put kecap manis too much. i cant stand that sweetness
Ive been looking for a mie goreng recipe and this looks like the best one so far! I love all of your videos! Quick question, when would I add the eggs if I wanted to stir fry it with the mie goring?
Firly Tinungki: since you dont get response from her, i'll tell you my opinion. After you stir fry the noodle with sauce, move the noodle to one side, break the egg and scramble it on the empty side. then you can add the shrimp, bean sprouts and shake them all together. Done..
Firly Tinungki we indonesians put the egg after we put in the shallots and garlic. we never combine the sauce together like she did in this video. here's the order: oil, shallots garlic, egg, sambal, rice, kecap manis salt and pepper, green veggies. thats it.
You can also make scrambled egg first, then remove it and add it at the end when you add the beansprouts, but that is more work. I know some people prefer to do it that way.
You know what seonkyoung i really love the way u cook u simplify everything at the same time all the food turn out so delicious.ilove it!so easy to follow and ur ingredients are not complicated i love to eat and the food you cook is so healthy just so perfect for me.

Lol very clever decision misskahu
Joseph 605 it aint that bad as long as you dont eat it everyday
Unless you make it healthy like putting veggies on it
