Even at the high grocery prices we are experiencing now, this meal is still less than $10 for a family of 4! Eat well, save money. Happy Sunday! 💕
this looks so yummy. Since I'm really close to being pre-diabetic though, it's not something I can enjoy. My daughter would love it
@Tracy Mainwaring So sorry to hear that. 😔
@@FloLum I didn’t mean to comment under your pinned comment…my phone is silly. PreT2D affects SO many people, and most don’t even know they have it. So I’m lucky in a way 😀
Made this tonight Flo. It was a huge hit with the family. I sprinkled a couple handfuls of chopped cashews on top too since I had them in my pantry. Really fantastic and economical recipe.
This looks so good. Where do you get the noodles?
Thank you.
0:43 sauce: 3 T dark sweet sauce, 2 T Light soy, 1 T oyster sauce, 2 T ketchup, and optional spiciness 1 T sambal.
precooked noodle 1.25 lb. ;
Green union, 3 cloves garlic, 2 shallots, 4 choisum, a handle of sprout, 2 eggs, 6 oz. shrimp, (3 for each person), 6 oz. of chicken (one thigh and a drumstick),
5:17 stir fry
I love “You can just omit it”. Where it doesn’t make this recipe any less flavorful or delicious. My new favorite because I made this today.
Love your cookbook.
I love that you teaching us these frugal comfort food meal during these hard economic times
Really appreciating your affordable and easy options. With teens, our grocery bill lately has been insane!!
My mouth is watering! We really appreciate your economical dishes these days. Please keep 'em coming. Also, for people unfamiliar with shrimp paste...well, it's absolutely delicious mixed in dishes, but in its "raw" state it smells like the sewer backed up. In other words, please don't let the smell scare you away.
Your comment is hilarious and spot on! 😂. How much of the shrimp paste (belechan) would you use Flo?
Thanks for the warning!!! 😂. That’s what I always say about cheese…..stinky.
I find fermented shrimp paste in little jars, as a paste.
Lee Kum Kee sell shrimp paste in a small jar. You just add a tiny portion like 1/3 of a tea spoon.
Shrimp paste is Trassi, Sambal badjak is the most popular sambal and for Ketjap Manis you can find many recepies on the internet. Ketjap Kental is even thicker. In Nederland we have a rich tradition with Malaysian and Indonesian food. Selamat Makan for Dude and then Habis makan buang piring if you eat from a banana leaf.
Thank you so much for all these wonderful recipes!
Greatly appreciate how you keep them as simple as possible while still creating such a huge variety of delicious menu choices. And the videos are always entertaining.
These noodles turned out perfect at home.
Hi Flo and Dude. Have only just discovered your food channel and it really is a blessing. We love Asian cooking in our home and your channel is our go to for inspiration and recipe's. Thank you for all your work.
Great video! I can’t wait to make this dish. I have tried a few of your recipes and they have all received 👍 from the family. I turn to your recipe book whenever I’m stumped on what to make for dinner. 😋
Hi Flo and Dude….I cannot wait to try out this recipe. I’ve made a couple of your noodle dishes with great success. I purchased your cookbook and it just arrived the other day. Very excited to continue with your fantastic recipes. 😊🇨🇦
I just love how accessible you make your recipes. I have a nice wok, but you also give the option to just use a frying pan. You give suggestions to omit or substitute some of the ingredients if they are hard to find. Anyone could make this, and I can't wait to try it out on the family.
This was so therapeutic. Right from your voice to the in-depth explanation. Thank you for sharing.
I love your videos!! You've helped me branch out my cooking so much!
Hi..I like the way you cut the ingredients accordingly so neat and also well narrated...
Loving these recipes many thanks
I made this last night and it was fabulous. I've been learning my wok. I've followed your channel and studied well. Thank you!
I love the receipe!!! Thanks Flo!!!
And I love your channel!! You are awosome, both of you!!!
Thank you for all of your recipes. I have your cookbook and made the orange chicken tonight but I stir fried the chicken instead of air frying. It was delicious. Thank you again!
Love the presentation fest, easy and looks delicious 😋, thanks 😊!
Wow!! Love it!! I will make this!! Thank you for sharing!!! ❤️❤️❤️
I’m salivating watching this….. need to make it. Thanks!!!
YaY! I enjoyed this and this is my first LUM video! Subscribed!
Hi Flo,
Thanks for the easy and yet simple recipe, I'm first time subscribed.
Very good! My family loved it.
Thank you for the recipe.❤️
definitely plan on making this recipe this week, thank you!
Thanks Flo and Dude for great recipe and video.
Just watching all your videos will make someone a decent cook, simple and delicious recipes, thanks
You guys are awesome! Thank you
Another delicious recipe to add to the collection, can't wait to try this one! Fed up and feeling guilty sitting with pen and paper trying to copy your recipe that I've bought your homestyle cookbook, I'm pretty sure it's going to be well used and I can throw out all my scraps of paper! Hahaha
Hello. I just discovered your videos and wanted to share-
My in-laws were from Holland and they often made Indonesian dishes, like Nasi or Bami Goreng. Since they are gone, my wife makes these dishes. I handle the grill when needed. But after watching a number of your vids, I am ready to do it! Thank you, Michael.
I just found this channel, and I love it
Your recipes are super easy and yummy and my son loves all the recipes I cook you really got me back into cooking again thank you so much.
Love ❤️ these dishes I just stumbled on your channel now I’m hooked Thankyou for sharing I’m here in Australia 🇦🇺
I appreciate you mentioning thing like the shrimp paste/belacan as we can get that easily where we are so it's nice to be able to include those things when we can get it
Where I’m at it’s called trassi if I’m not mistaken. It looks exactly the same, so I’ll use that.
I would love this! Thanks for the recipe ☺️
Just made it. Really delicious and my whole family enjoyed it! Managed to find all the ingredients listed. Definitely need the splash of sesame oil to balance out the sweetness of the sauce. Will make again!
Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful recipe, lady that looks amazing
Hey Flo, I made a version of this and thank you so much, we loved it!
In a pinch, a touch of fish sauce works like shrimp paste to give that MSG-like umsmi
As a Chinese in Malaysia, malay Mee goreng was one of my favorite. If I to choose malay Mee goreng vs Chinese stir fry yellow noodle, I'll choose malay ones. The mee goreng in this video looks almost the same from how we cook in Malaysia. Try to search for 'mee goreng che nom' and watch. You'll like it.
Okay, just made the Mee Goreng Noodles. I was hesitant, so many items I have not used before. It is great. I added a tad of Cayenne just to give it a bit more kick. Loved it. I will have to go through your cookbook that I bought and see what else I can do. The Egg Drop Soup that I did came out to $1.41 per serving, about 12 ounces in my bowl. Got 10 servings or so, forgot to count every time. Thank you so much. /// Just finished making and eating (most) of the noodles recipe. It came to $17.87, the cost per serving is $2.98 for a plate that is not small. I had five servings in the last two days and there is one serving left. I loved it. Compare to $20.00 to $25.00 per person for fast food, which is "supposed" to be cheap, there is no comparison. Thank you so much for helping me solve diet/nutrition and financial problems. Thank you, Thank you.
I just love you guys. I’m going to try that noodle dish. I love noodles never try making them myself. Thanks for sharing and God bless
When I eat out oriental, I always study the knife cuts in my food. It makes the dish more visually interesting. I love how you cut the veggies and onions…!!!
Oh yeah! Going out tomorrow and grabbing these ingredients at my local Asian market. Love the 🐈 meowing too. Lol.
Success! I made this and it is a favorite now. Thank you for suggesting the cabbage as an alternative. I also made this with green beans (cut small) because I don't have bean sprouts. Thank you for making it easy.
My best friend, It's always great. Your video is excellent quality. We liked and enjoyed to the end. Thanks
New subscriber here☺️ I just came across your channel and I love your recipes 😋 definitely going to be trying them out.
Love all of your recipes 😍
This looks absolutely amazing definitely going to try this one 👌 Thanks Flo & Dude. Cheers....Nat from Aus 😋
One of the few video chefs that KNOWS HOW TO USE A KNIFE! Notice how she tucks her fingers back, thumb under the palm, using the knuckles as a guide for the blade.
Thank you so much verry good chef. Ive learned a lot. More power.
You are the best! Thank you.
Love all your receipe
Looks so delicious I can't wait to try it thank you 😋
I made this for supper tonight and it is FANTASTIC!
Looks so ... yummmy thanks for sharing .
You guys are God sent!! I just tried this out today and it came out unbelievably delicious ☺️😋 so happy!!
Great cooking and camera work😃
Ate fried mie too often when in Malaysia. It's so good. I watched several UA-cam videos but yours is the one that I'll make because it is authentic to what I ate and loved. Thanks
Love all your recipes thank you I will make them one at a time . May God Bless 🙏
Oh my, that looks so good,
I could eat a huge bowl all by myself!
I just saw your channel!!! I love your cooking!
I appreciate your pleasing voice and excellent DICTION. THANK you 😊
I really love your channel and have learnt so much. Thanks from across "The Pond". This will be on the menu this week. It reminds me so much of Singapore and the fabulous Hawker Markets.
Learnt?...learned
@@jettabartholomew1118 Oh, darlin' chill a little on this fine Sunday. Don't need the hall monitor watching over us for the slightest grammar mistake on a cooking recipe.
@@jettabartholomew1118 Oops, your ethnocentrism is showing. "Learnt" is a valid word, recognized mostly as a Britishism. Add it to your vocabulary. Who knows, it might turn up in wordle. :)
Yummy thanks for the recipe looks delicious
I could eat this every day. This looks scrumptious.
Omg, it's late here in UK 12.30am, as a ex Singaporean growing up in UK these are just a few dishes I so much missed...looks like I will be going to the Asians shops for some ingredients tomorrow... love the videos.
Love it … Thanks Flo !🙏❤️
I used to live in Bali. I ate mie goreng almost every day. I still buy Indomie noodles by the case.
noodle dishes were my favorite street food when i was in Thailand... i'm gonna have to try making this soon
Food prices are hurting many. Thank you for sharing this affordable meal for many to enjoy. 🙂. Ottawa Ontario.
Looks SO good!
Great. I bought your cookbook. I am going to do this one tomorrow. I might (as I always do) add a few things to it, sorry, I can't resist.
always great recipes
Wow! I love it!
Wonderful dish, looks so delicious! Great explanation! Now I plan to buy a wok and stove so I can make these dishes. Currently have an electric flat cooktop not suited.
Hope to see many more dishes from you!
You can buy a ring on the cooktop for the wok to sit on.. Cooked that way for years on an electric cooktop.
@@alanbates9005 Thanks Alan! Didn't know there was such a thing.
Love my noodles anyway thanks Flo for sharing this budget friendly delicious noodle dish 🥰
You’re awesome, both of you🥰thank you❣️
I must try this.thank you for sharing.
This looks so darn delicious. I'm going to try yours recipe
Looks delicious and amazing
Looks delicious bet smells even better!
Please keep these noodle-friendly, cost conscious dishes coming! Even cooking for one has become costly, so I really appreciate that cost is a major consideration in your videos. TFS, Sharon🤗🇺🇦 P.S. Even though the 🙈made an appearance, thankfully no digits were sacrificed in the making of this video!
🤣
@@FloLum where can I get the recipe for that anyway
@@mehchocolate1257 in the description it says to get the written recipe you have to join patreon. Would be nice though if she at least put the ingredients up though. This may be a meal for under $10, but even the sweet soy sauce is $15.
So yummy ,you are amazing. Keep up the good work. God bless
Love your recipes, budget friendly, cook time friendly, most ingredients are ready in the fridge or pantry, even if I don’t have all the sauce, most times easily substitute, yet the end result still yummy, now I don’t have to make do with instant mi goreng, I can make my own, thanks
I love your food. I am from Brazil, but I leave in Miami, Florida for 23 years and Vancouver for me is a great city. Congrats.
That looks delicious!!
It so happens that im in Indonesia a lot...iv always wondered what they put in their secret sauces to flavor it...I love it that you are using the orginal ABC brand...hehe... thats the best one..
Looks soo delicious .
Thanks so Flo.. I really want to.try it....
I'll try it Thanks 👍
saw this made my day inspired 😊🎉
Greetings to you Flo from Perth in Western Australia 🇦🇺.
I am originally from Malaysia and I tried this receipe. It came out well but it was a bit sweet. Our grandchildren loved it. I am going to try it again by replacing the kecap manis with caramelised dark sauce and omit the belachan and increase the sambal. I think the adults will love it. Thank you and have a good time in Hawaii. God bless.
Delicious noodle recipe.
I made this today and it was FANTASTIC!!! And lots of leftovers. Heaven! I agree with Dude...had to stop! Thank you!
looks awesome and yummy recipe thanks for sharing 👌 👍 💖
Too that looks so good!😊

I love it! Singaporean food.
