No one should excuse Rob, he literally proves he's abusive every time he opens his mouth. The number one factor for abuse is ENTITLEMENT, it's an abuser's most dominate trait. Rob gave Sophie a stuffed animal and says "I got you this and now you're gonna leave, but I got you this" because he feels entitled to Sophie, entitled to have her around, entitled to her time, entitled because he gave her a gift. He did this teeny-tiny gesture, that you can tell is rare because Sophie is thrilled which is sad in its own right, but now Rob feels as if Sophie owes him her presence just because he got her a miniscule gift. Notice how Rob always says things like "that's MY wife" or "that's MY phone, this is MY house" or "I did this so now she owes me this, I did this but she won't forgive me, she's the problem." As a psych major this is how you out abusers, when someone shows entitlement as a dominate personality trait, please leave, he/she will NOT change. Sophie stays with Rob because his abuse is familiar, the abuse is like the abuse her mom dealt her when she was growing up, its comfortable, she knows it. Abuse feels like home when we grew up in an abusive home, but just because it's familiar doesn't make it safe, we have to wake up. Abusers always show themselves if you know what you're looking for. I’d say he wasn’t doing anything illegal, because we all know he made it and has his green card, and he wouldn’t have been allowed if he had done something wrong. The USCIS doesn’t play.

No one should excuse Rob, he literally proves he's abusive every time he opens his mouth. The number one factor for abuse is ENTITLEMENT, it's an abuser's most dominate trait. Rob gave Sophie a stuffed animal and says "I got you this and now you're gonna leave, but I got you this" because he feels entitled to Sophie, entitled to have her around, entitled to her time, entitled because he gave her a gift.
He did this teeny-tiny gesture, that you can tell is rare because Sophie is thrilled which is sad in its own right, but now Rob feels as if Sophie owes him her presence just because he got her a miniscule gift. Notice how Rob always says things like "that's MY wife" or "that's MY phone, this is MY house" or "I did this so now she owes me this, I did this but she won't forgive me, she's the problem."
As a psych major this is how you out abusers, when someone shows entitlement as a dominate personality trait, please leave, he/she will NOT change. Sophie stays with Rob because his abuse is familiar, the abuse is like the abuse her mom dealt her when she was growing up, its comfortable, she knows it. Abuse feels like home when we grew up in an abusive home, but just because it's familiar doesn't make it safe, we have to wake up. Abusers always show themselves if you know what you're looking for. If someone is entitled like Rob, RUN!
