Dude, I couldn’t deal with TJ’s family and I’m Indian American (parents immigrated, I was born here). However, many of my family friends who also were born here act such a similar way with their moms and general entitlement. Their moms then act like their sons can never do no wrong 🙄. Will meal prep and bring it to college, do their laundry and fold it while they’re home from college, tell them they deserve the hottest woman ever just bc the son exists. Meanwhile, daughters face criticism if they don’t act submissive, are too fat or too skinny, don’t have perfect grades, don’t go to grad school, don’t want kids, date outside Indians, if they don’t cook, if they don’t clean, if they “get too dark”, etc. A lot of Indian women today where my parents are from in the South, especially if they grew up in a city would downright run the other way with the unscientific, misogynist, dishonest way this family conducts itself. Literally feels like TJ’s fam embodies every negative stereotype people have of Indians.

Yeah when your only experience of a parental figure is a negative one, it's hard to be comfortable with a S/Os one initially. I totally understand how Kim feels. I lived in Okinawa for a year and it was really hard for the first few months. I didn’t have any friends, I was alone in the house for the entire day, the time difference between me and my friends was insane, and I didn’t have my own car to go anywhere. Once I made friends, adopted animals, and had time with our car during the day things got soooo much better. I hope she’s doing alright :(

I got triggered by Kim and TJ's screaming scene. My very first marriage happened when I was 18. I totally wasn't ready to be a wife. I married a totally toxic guy that would say 💩 like "why are you overreacting again?" If I said calmly like "you hurt my feelings when you do/say (insert rude stuff here)". Anyway at one point, I actually had to scream into pillows and cry like a baby because he was so emotionally abusive. Apparently, Kim is in Missouri. So, she and TJ are (most likely) done. He didn’t translate information, and even hid it from her. He should’ve just gotten with a woman who understood his cultural background. For those who say: “Well, she should’ve Googled it!” Which Indian culture would she have known to have done her research on without TJ telling her? Indian culture like isn’t a 1-size-fits-all sweater. It has 700 ethnic groups with their own cultures depending on location - and beyond that, every family is different.

The fact that Shekinah was bold enough to walk away was a HUGE flex and power play. She stood on bidness. I don't want to see them on another season just because I find them kind of boring and don't see what they'd have going on in another season. Did anyone figure out what's up with those bugs? Why did they come in like that? Was it really just the lights from the camera crew? Seemed like an abnormal amount for some lights... Anyway, I think Mary always wanted a mother-daughter relationship and she's been getting that with Angela, which is why they're getting along so well. She really has been taking Angela's advice to heart from the beginning. Kim screaming like a banshee... girl's got problems. This is more than depression. She was a loose canon BEFORE the marriage. This union and living situation has just exacerbated it. Kim has had plenty of time to learn the language. Kim knew she was going to be in a different timezone than her friends. She spent a year in India before. She just wants to complain. And I think TJ is drained from all of this drama with Kim and his family. He's just as bad as she is, but you could see the red flags from a mile away. This was a mess from day one and she should've never gotten on the plane. They're both annoying.
I lived in the desert and there were special lights to keep bugs away at night. If there were different lights on, the bugs would swarm. It happened at the outdoor symphony in the park.

I'm certainly not saying that his mom wasn't experiencing a PTSD attack because the bugs. But as a person who severely afraid of bugs I would panic too. I would quite literally die on scene. My parents were so worried about me learning how to drive because I've opened the door in a moving car a few times because there was a bug in the car. So she could just be that afraid of bugs and frankly I don't blame her.

Dude, I couldn’t deal with TJ’s family and I’m Indian American (parents immigrated, I was born here).
However, many of my family friends who also were born here act such a similar way with their moms and general entitlement. Their moms then act like their sons can never do no wrong 🙄. Will meal prep and bring it to college, do their laundry and fold it while they’re home from college, tell them they deserve the hottest woman ever just bc the son exists. Meanwhile, daughters face criticism if they don’t act submissive, are too fat or too skinny, don’t have perfect grades, don’t go to grad school, don’t want kids, date outside Indians, if they don’t cook, if they don’t clean, if they “get too dark”, etc. A lot of Indian women today where my parents are from in the South, especially if they grew up in a city would downright run the other way with the unscientific, misogynist, dishonest way this family conducts itself. I totally understand how Kim feels. I lived in Okinawa for a year and it was really hard for the first few months. I didn’t have any friends, I was alone in the house for the entire day, the time difference between me and my friends was insane, and I didn’t have my own car to go anywhere. Once I made friends, adopted animals, and had time with our car during the day things got soooo much better. I hope she’s doing alright :(

I married a totally toxic guy that would say 💩 like "why are you overreacting again?" If I said calmly like "you hurt my feelings when you do/say (insert rude stuff here)". Anyway at one point, I actually had to scream into pillows and cry like a baby because he was so emotionally abusive. One thing about Kim is that she was transparent about who she is and how she handles stressors from the beginning. Starting at day one, she was shouting her head off and TJ chose to marry her anyways. He has to own up to that now that he's tired of his choice.

Omg watching their argument was so triggering!! My mom is a narcissist(not egotistical, but the psychological term) and so was my ex boyfriend. They'll watch you cry and have a meltdown in front of them and have zero emotions or empathy in their response. They'll just keep gaslighting you until you lose your mind

The fact that Shekinah was bold enough to walk away was a HUGE flex and power play. She stood on bidness. I don't want to see them on another season just because I find them kind of boring and don't see what they'd have going on in another season.
Did anyone figure out what's up with those bugs? Why did they come in like that? Was it really just the lights from the camera crew? Seemed like an abnormal amount for some lights... Anyway, I think Mary always wanted a mother-daughter relationship and she's been getting that with Angela, which is why they're getting along so well. She really has been taking Angela's advice to heart from the beginning.
Kim screaming like a banshee... girl's got problems. This is more than depression. She was a loose canon BEFORE the marriage. This union and living situation has just exacerbated it. Kim has had plenty of time to learn the language. Kim knew she was going to be in a different timezone than her friends. She spent a year in India before. She just wants to complain. And I think TJ is drained from all of this drama with Kim and his family. He's just as bad as she is, but you could see the red flags from a mile away. This was a mess from day one and she should've never gotten on the plane. They're both annoying.
I lived in the desert and there were special lights to keep bugs away at night. If there were different lights on, the bugs would swarm. It happened at the outdoor symphony in the park.
Someone else said it could've been a bug migration according to their own research.
I can’t even blame Kimberly for screaming it was true pain and he gaslighted and manipulated her and invalidated her feelings she asked for emotional support and he flat out said “no I don’t care let’s get a divorce and go back to America if you want that” TJ is toxic and has major red flags 🚩
When you talked about the mom’s reaction to the bugs possibly being ptsd, I cried. I can’t imagine how terrified she was in that moment! Thank god she is sober now, but the recovery process must be so hard. My heart goes out to her

I'm certainly not saying that his mom wasn't experiencing a PTSD attack because the bugs. But as a person who severely afraid of bugs I would panic too. I would quite literally die on scene. My parents were so worried about me learning how to drive because I've opened the door in a moving car a few times because there was a bug in the car. So she could just be that afraid of bugs and frankly I don't blame her.
Danielle and yohan are both deplorable. They’re liars. she’s controlling and he’s a cheater. She relocated to the DR and never had a discussion about it. She ran from debt and was rude and disrespectful to her husband. He demands money. Ugh.
