Then ask yourself how many times did any of them get built? Then ask yourselves how many times did a man worth over 6 billion dollars want to provide any of his own money towards the stadium? See the pattern here? There’s a reason why that man is the worst owner in professional sports and the ultimate cheapskate. We, as Las Vegas residents, Do Not need that man taking his team here and taking money away from public education. Not by any means at all. And to answer the questions he and the A’s have had at least 5 stadium renderings and proposals in and around the Bay Area with him putting ZERO dollars towards any of it, instead relying on local tax payers to foot the bill for a billionaires team. And none of his renderings weren’t anything but a pipe dream on a piece of paper. Don’t let that man sell you on moving his team to our city. We’re also the 40th largest media market in the country, and with regional sports TV contracts dissolving by the day across the country, I honestly don’t see this happening at all. MLB would be better off taking ownership of this team and moving them to Montreal or Nashville and be done with John Fisher for good.
Why not have MLB take the team over and stay in Oakland until they find an owner willing to keep the team there? The A’s & Comcast still have a TV deal. Aren’t there several locations for a new stadium that the current owner has rejected or let lapse?
Yes, because baseball team owners make their real money on the capital appreciation of the franchise. That's why no owner in the last 70 years has ultimately lost money on their team. Think of it this way. You own a piece of farmland. You don't even farm it for 20 years. You pay property taxes and other expenses for 20 years, and then sell it for 10 times what you paid for it. You supposedly lost money every year, but in fact you had a positive total return every year because the gain in principal value always dwarfed the negative revenue stream. That's what's been happening in baseball all along. When Fisher eventually sells the team, he'll make a killing.
So they are going to bring the worst baseball team to town for what? So the city can raise property taxes to compensate the loss of money the team brings in?

Ask Mayor Thaio - she asked for 97 million dollars in rent to stick it to the A’s.
@@togoandmoss That would be the same mayor who is currently under investigation for massive corruption and pay-to-play schemes. I'd take it for granted that she was also demanding some under the table bribe money from the A's to get any kind of favorable deal.

In 2016 Survey Only 6% wanted Hockey in Vegas. Two baseball polls 28% Low & 52% High want baseball in Vegas. 28% of 3.2 Million that's 900,000 people in Greater Las Vegas want the A's. Agreed and a thumbs up from me. I'm up in Vancouver Canada and am a Raiders seasons ticket holder as well as a 11 game ice pack holder of the Vegas Golden Knights. Ask yourselves this Las Vegas, how many stadium renderings has the Oakland A’s put out since John Fisher became majority owner of that team?
Stfu cheap bastard. You pay taxes for more useless things and you don't realize
Why not have MLB take the team over and stay in Oakland until they find an owner willing to keep the team there? The A’s & Comcast still have a TV deal.
Aren’t there several locations for a new stadium that the current owner has rejected or let lapse?
Las Vegas, come see your favorite team beat the A's
Money talks and men will say how extravagant is the structure?. It looks good 😊.
From a financial and business point of view, can you make money with only 33,000 seats???
Apples and oranges, but Fenway Park has under 40,000 seats, and the Red Sox do fine.
It means it has to be a sellout every night!
The two other stadiums in Las Vegas are among the most profitable in the world with Allegiant Stadium being number one. So it kind of think so.
It’s cute that they rendered a sellout.
Probably will be for the first game
#RootedInOakland

It’s a John 💩fisher scam guaranteed
John Fisher and Oakland both are responsible
Hope the Athletics stay in Sacramento but return to Oakland with a new owner.
I hope the moon is really made of cheese and it starts raining crackers!
They really named a Team after the letter 'A'? Is our imagination that incompetent already?
So they are going to bring the worst baseball team to town for what? So the city can raise property taxes to compensate the loss of money the team brings in?
Some time ago when the discussion was on Brodie's and other Oakland based sites, any Las Vegas contributors were referred to as trolls and told we were not welcome. Well the situation has changed. Let’s hope Vegas wants the A’s cause Oakland sure as hell doesn’t want them back now
City leaders are as much as responsible as Owners
I read the headline and I was like “What do the Oakland A’s have to do with Tropicana Field?” lmao. I guess you could say two Tropicanas have been destroyed. And speaking of that, the Rays should move to Oakland until their stadium is built lol. No point in repairing that dump. Move to a nicer dump.
So Oakland A’s to Oakland Rays I mean hey it rhymes 😂
The renderings are completely useless. It takes up the entire 35 acres instead of the 9 it’s allocated. They don’t even know what they’re building yet.
This is very very cool. If it's built? Vegas has become a city of the future, out of the ashes of 50's retro rat pack casino style....
How funny, this stadium is supposed to look like several overlapping pennants. Too bad those will be the only baseball pennants Las Vegas will ever see.
120 degree weather (and not much cooler at night) isn't going to be helped by "shade" from an open roof.
It’s an air conditioned dome … you don’t follow this topic do you?
Inspired by pennants yeah right id say they took the design from Sydney opera house
That view of the skyline assumes there isn’t a big hotel right in the way. Last they described it, the site was in the southeast corner of the lot. So pretty much impossible there’s nothing in the way, if they hold to that location.
Exactly, Bally's is going to build a resort on the rest of the land, which is why they're already impatient with Fisher. These are just concepts, no actual plans have been approved yet.
I really hope this does blow up in Fisher's face. As cool as the stadium looks, for the long term... theres no upgrades you could do really. When Miller Park was made in 2001, it has tons of upgrade opportunities, and still does. What do you upgrade in 5 years here? Plus, money... its all about money, which is a big problem for a stadium this expensive
All that for a cheap baseball team
Fisher won’t put up even half of the money for a new ballpark. He’s cheap and vows to be cheap no matter what.
