Lunch with Milton Hopkins. Brian picked me up at the apartment and drove us to Dinglewood Pharmacy here in Columbus, Georgia. Our friend from Harris County; Brian went to High School with Milton was meeting us at the Pharmacy diner for a late lunch. It's always good to spend just idle time with Milton.
Thanks for on the road again with the Mallard brothers and friend.Love the memory from the past with Uncle Ken.What beautiful memories you have captured and shared with us.

What an awesome old school pharmacy/diner. A miracle it's still in existence. I'm from the Woolworth and Walgreens diner era. Fantastic old timey place. Thanksgiving blessings from Chicago. ❤
Thank you! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family tomorrow! I remember eating at the diner in Woolworth's at Columbus Square Mall. Both are gone now. Yes, Dinglewood Pharmacy has been around since the 1920's, I believe.
I still crave the hotdogs with grilled buns from Woolworths in Chicago... had one about 2 blocks from where we lived at 64th & Whipple.. Good memories
@@Mudjie50 I worked in the Loop so I frequented the Woolworth diner on State St. during my lunch hour. Great memories. I still have a spoon with the "W" logo on the handle. They sold everything off when they closed for good. All Starbucks and fast food now.

We used to have an old fashioned pharmacy diner in Orange CA called Watson’s Drugs.
I am just so thankful that this one is still here, since the 1920's, I believe.
I really enjoyed your”almost nothing” video. Brings back memories of Peoples lunch counter in the 60’s. Those places have sadly disappeared in my area. Happy Thanksgiving!
I know, Rita. I wish the ones that used to be around here were still here, so I could appreciate them today, like Woolworth's diner, and Kiralfy's clothing store upstairs diner. I am thankful that Dinglewood is still here.

Angus hotdog with shredded sharp cheddar,, alfalfa sprouts and thinly sliced tomato on a toasted sesame bun - almost a steak sandwich. Now I'm hungry and it's only 0300 here. What a delightful cafe. Happy holidays everyone.

I remember when walgreens had small dinning in their stores... back when I was growing up. Haven't seen anything like this since I was still a child, so glad at least ONE still survives! Hope the food was great and you enjoyed it all. Wishing you and your family, and Uncle Ken have a Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving..

This was fun. I love when you do these kinds of videos, it is like being there with you all. I remember the Dinglewood Pharmacy live and the not so cheery greeting from the waitress since it was close to closing time. Hahaha! A scramble dog, I have not seen one of those since you went out with Robert a long time ago! I know you ordered extra onions, right Walter? The funniest part is the backdrop behind Milton! I guess it Depends on how you look at it!! Hahahaha!! More conversation next time if you can do it without music in the background. I just enjoy hearing you all sit and jaw. 😊

I know! I kept just giving up about the Dependable background! The entire time I was shooting this, I wondered how am I going to make this into a video? It was just chopped conversation. I hope to do better next time. And next time, I hope to have a steak sandwich! Apparently it is very close to the G-Mart steak sandwiches. By the way, HAPPY THANKSGIVING, Sondra!

You're welcome! I really enjoyed this time together. Brian and I began watching it in the 1980's. It came out in 1963. Ha! Brian is a mustard freak!

It WAS good! I have a general recollection of how it is made. Actual steak is pounded and tenderized and then breaded and deep fried.

Thank you so much, Shannon! To you as well! Yes. This one has been around since - I think - the 1920's. It really is enjoyable there. You serve yourself behind the counter for drink refills. I always have a cherry coke.You squirt the cherry syrup into the cup and then run the fountain Coke into it.

Goodness, that food looks good! I remmber esting at Woolworth’s a with my grandparents. There was also an old pharmacy with soda fountain type thing and we’d eat there.
It IS good! Mom and we kids used to eat at the diner in Woolworth's in Columbus Square Mall. I understand that was the first mall in Georgia. It is long gone now. But I really enjoyed that food. Dinglewood Pharmacy has a counter with bar stools and fountain drinks, along with everything on that menu that Brian was holding. It has a full kitchen.

Happy Thanksgiving guys. What did I miss about Ken and Monkey? LOL
Ken has always called us "you monkeys!" ( When he wasn't calling us dummies! Sometimes it was "monkey dummy!" The double whammy!)
Anyway, Milton mentioned Uber, so I said that Ken is an Uber Driver, but he only hauls chimpanzees! (Monkeys in Ken's eyes. He doesn't know the difference between a chimpanzee, monkey, or us.)

What is a scramble dog.
It's a hot dog in a bun. Those are sliced into small sections, covered with chili and oyster crackers. I like ketchup and mustard on mine. People have onions and cheese on theirs as well as pickles. I did have pickles on mine this time. But I prefer it simple, ketchup and mustard.
